The decor was very tasteful & the whole hotel well-maintained & clean. Staff were helpful & friendly. The evening buffet was welcome in such an expensive city but quality did vary and it was very repetetive. Buffet as above. Bathroom very small. Heating not available despite temperature being unseasonably cold. |

This is a great location and a reasonable value for the expensive city that Oslo is. We walked throughtout the city sights. The opera house is fantastic. A simple dinner and very nice breakfast buffet is included. |

The welcoming atmosphere, the location as we could walk to the city centre or take the tram/bus all over Oslo. (Travelling with adult daughter). Also the availability of complimentary refreshment at all times of the day, hot drinks and fresh fruit flavoured iced water, with waffles in the afternoon, and including an evening buffet meal which we did not take but which looked good. We were given room 111 which is designed for a disabled person, so the bathroom was not comfortable (high toilet seat, wet floor) and I tripped on the ramp up to the bathroom a few times. I did not see a standard room, but I presume the bathrooms would be more comfortable. No toiletries other than liquid soap dispenser on wall. |

Free parking behind building, good breakfast, clean and tidy rooms. Room was quite hot (weather was very warm for Oslo) and unfortunately the room had no airconditioning. |

Beautiful building in a very nice area of Oslo, very nicelly decorated. Close to the center and main attractions. The bathroom was too tiny. Apparentely the dinner menu (which is included in the price) is always the same. |

This hotel was in one of the better neighbours in Oslo, lots treelined streets. It is not as close to all the tourist attractions, but it is a good walk if you have good walking shoes The ceiling like fixture was missing, two wires were left hanging from the ceiling where the fixture was suppose to be. |

Pretty much everything. This is a wonderful hotel. Great value for money, particularly because of the free light evening meal and free coffee/waffles during the day. Very clean and tidy. Nice homely atmosphere. Excellent breakfast. Only 10 mins away from the city centre of Oslo and its attractions, and yet nice and quiet in a residential suburb. |

Hotel Gabelshus is just outside Olso's main center, but easily accessible by streetcar. This is nice, because the neighborhood is quiet, but still close enough to everything. Facilities were nice, especially the sauna and steam room. Pretty good value for your money considering Norway is so expensive. |

Tasteful decor, immaculately clean, convenient but quiet location, great breakfasts, and best of all, free afternoon waffles and evening buffet, which saved a huge amount on food bills. The ensuite was tiny and had a glass door! If you don't arrive promptly for the evening buffet, there might not be much left. |

The staff were very friendly and efficient. The breakfast buffet and the evening buffet were lovely and fresh, with lots of choice and saved us a fortune eating out in Oslo! |

It is located in a cosy part of the city, quiet. The evening lunch avoid to have to search for a restaurant We've got a room with facilities for people on wheel chairs (bathroom). While we appreciate that the hotel offers such rooms, they have less charm than a normal room and you shoudl be informed at reception if no other room is possible. |

The comfortable, well equipped rooms. The relaxation promoted by the ambience of the hotel. The extremely helpful management, when there was a problem with one of the rooms booked a replacement was found immedaitely. The area in which the hotel is located was quiet and most attractive. |

The included evening meal is a real bonus in such an expensive city. Very clean. Sacrificed practicality for modernity in the room and a bit sterile in the lounge/dining area. |

This hotel is in an old building in a quiet pert of the city. There are some intereting original features although it has been extensively and tasefully modernised. The evening buffet (included in the room price) is a real bonus - particularly as eating out in Norway is expensive, compared with UK, with a selection of hot and cold food. Obviously the large bedroom did not have its own en suite facilities when it was built, and the shower room (with WC and basin) built into a corner was small but adequate. Its size apprears to have been constrained by the location of a set of french doors onto a small balcony, and this may not be typical of all the rooms. |

The staff were very helpful courteous and friendly. Their English was excellent and made communication extremely easy for ourselves. The hotel is situated very conveniently near bus and Tram routes ( end of the street) and is only a 10 to 15 minute walk into the centre of Oslo. The food was simply but a good selection of buffet style hot and cold foods. The only thing missing was not having a bar area to have a quick beer.....although you could get a drink via reception. |

It was in a perfect location, quiet but near enough to walk to all the main attractions. The hotel had a lovely ambiance, very traditional with friendly staff. Our room was perfect for us and our young daughter with lots of space and a nice extra bed. A bonus is the complimentary buffet breakfast and evening supper-saves a fortune is super expensive Oslo. |
