Tasteful decor, immaculately clean, convenient but quiet location, great breakfasts, and best of all, free afternoon waffles and evening buffet, which saved a huge amount on food bills.

The ensuite was tiny and had a glass door! If you don't arrive promptly for the evening buffet, there might not be much left.

It is located in a cosy part of the city, quiet. The evening lunch avoid to have to search for a restaurant

We've got a room with facilities for people on wheel chairs (bathroom). While we appreciate that the hotel offers such rooms, they have less charm than a normal room and you shoudl be informed at reception if no other room is possible.

The comfortable, well equipped rooms. The relaxation promoted by the ambience of the hotel. The extremely helpful management, when there was a problem with one of the rooms booked a replacement was found immedaitely. The area in which the hotel is located was quiet and most attractive.

This hotel is in an old building in a quiet pert of the city. There are some intereting original features although it has been extensively and tasefully modernised. The evening buffet (included in the room price) is a real bonus - particularly as eating out in Norway is expensive, compared with UK, with a selection of hot and cold food.

Obviously the large bedroom did not have its own en suite facilities when it was built, and the shower room (with WC and basin) built into a corner was small but adequate. Its size apprears to have been constrained by the location of a set of french doors onto a small balcony, and this may not be typical of all the rooms.

The staff were very helpful courteous and friendly. Their English was excellent and made communication extremely easy for ourselves. The hotel is situated very conveniently near bus and Tram routes ( end of the street) and is only a 10 to 15 minute walk into the centre of Oslo. The food was simply but a good selection of buffet style hot and cold foods.

The only thing missing was not having a bar area to have a quick beer.....although you could get a drink via reception.

Price by booking.com was sky high. We found out that the hotel chain offered it half price... However we were up-garded to a suite, which wasn't our intention during our stay...

Oslo is an incredibly expensive city for visitors. But the Hotel Gabelshus was a rare bargain. I loved the free internet, breakfast, afternoon waffles and dinner buffet and would certainly stay there again. The front-desk staff were charming and helpful ... and beautiful, too, which is a nice bonus!

The room which I was originally given was tiny, with a bed that was too small for me to lie in. But this was sorted out in minutes at no extra expense. So I have no complaint.

Location was brilliant - everything was walking distance. The hotel also provided Tea and fresh brew coffee all day, which was a bonus.

A very nice hotel in a very nice district - which was a treat given we were disappointed with Oslo (but not the museums). Very nice and clean/modern room. Very good breakfast and what a treat to have light evening supper buffet for free!

Oslo is over priced, which means even the good value hotel was still expensive by any standard.

The Hotel is very good: near the Center, very confortable and beautifull room, fantastic breakfast and the attendant Mat was so kind with us. We do really recommend this Hotel. It was a great choice.

Light and airy room with an excellent shower. Tea & coffee were available downstairs at all times. Proffessional yet very relaxed environment.
