Everything was fabulous at this hotel. I had a beautiful room with a perfect view of the harbour. The staff were charming, the meals excellent value and all facilities comfortable and easy. Loved this hotel. One of the best, if not the best hotel stay ever.

Nothing at all

It is a cute hotel just next to the Bergenøs famous oild town and harbour. Great rooms, all amenities well kept, DvD player in each room and possibility to rent DVDs from the hotel's library. Really cosy and comfy lunch area plus afternoon pancakes and dinner buffet in accommodation price. Friendy staff. Really recommended!!!

All standard rooms have a view to not quite nice backyard.

The scenery,Beaty and history of the area was amazing. It had a great seaside resort atmosphere with people dining and drinking at alfresco cafe's. Staff at the hotel were excellent and always friendly and approachable. The hotel was in a great location with excellent decor and history, combined with complimentary afternoon tea and supper.

The only issue I had as an Australian, Norway is extremely expensive as they have a good economy, so a beer and dinner will cost upwards of twice to what you would normally pay.

Everything was perfect! Liked the light meal every evening, the pancakes every afternoon. The breakfast was excellent too!

I requested a water view. Even our bathroom had a water view! Very comfortable. Location was great and liked the view from the custom-house look-out tower. Really good breakfast - could fry your own eggs fresh.

The staff are extremely helpful. The location is excellent. We liked the breakfast and dinner buffet, and we really liked being able to get tea and coffee when we wanted it. We think this hotel is perfect for anyone visiting Bergen.

Liked everything could not fault hotel

Nice hotel in an excellent location at the end of Bryggen. Good design especially in the lobby and bar area. Our superior room had a nice outlook overlooking Bryggen.

Not perhaps as good as expected. Our first room was not cleaned very well at all so we were moved to a room that was an improvement although again needed a bit of tlc. The half board package was not as good value as we hoped as the buffet dinner wasn't great with limited choice. We ended up eating out for our last night of three. Overall though we enjoyed our stay but compared to hotels in Oslo, the Clarion Collection did not live up to our expectations.

A Superior room and bathroom were extremely small. No provision of dressing gown and slippers and towels were not very luxurious. The only positive was the view but you had to lie in bed or stand up to see it - not relax in a chair. We were not informed that our card was debited on arrival and were especially irritated that 1020 krone extra was debited without ANY discussion.

The location was very good....right on the historic, picturesque Bergen harbor front. The food service included a complete breakfast buffet, mid afternoon "waffles" which are actually our pancakes, and an evening smorgasbord buffet. No real need to find other eating places. And the front desk staff were always pleasant and courteous.

Though a downtown Clarion Hotel, no service was available to help with luggage at the cobblestone front sidewalk entrance. We were dealing with heavy luggage and had difficulty with the cobblestone walk and steps up to the entrance doors of the lobby. (suitcases don't roll on cobblestones!) This was after our shuttle bus ride from the Bergen airport. And it would have been helpful to have staff help with city and fjord tour suggestions and arrangements. Instead, we were referred to the tourist information center about 3 blocks from the hotel.

The location is perfect as a base for exploring the city as well as the surrounding countryside. The transport network makes this possible. The breakfasts were extremely good, and the evening meal very good, although a bit repetitive if you are staying over a longer period than 3 or 4 nights. The soups were excellent and different each night. The communal areas were very pleasant and gave a feeling of tranquility most of the time.. The staff all had very good customer focused skills, especially Bianca. All reception staff spoke English.. We would stay at this hotel again. It offers good value for money.

Inconsiderate guests who take over the communal seating area to have meetings or watch loud football games on the TV. Both activities are not compatible with a peaceful, calm environment. Every room has a TV and there are other facilities for meetings. The main issue seems to be the reluctance of staff to deal with these issues. All guests are paying therefore it is boils down to the ethos that the hotel wants to portray. The balcony in our room looked onto a back yard and the back of other buildings. Very unattractive

I loved the location of the Hotel. The staff were very efficient, helpful and happy. Icluded in the price are afternoon pancakes and hot drinks, evening dinner buffet and breakfast. All of this was of a very good standard and good value.

Confort, meals included (small snack), gently and helpful Staff, and very very near of everything in the town and internet free as a wifi and a PC for the guests. If someone have money to spend With hotel, so this is the one.

Excellent location. Just around the corner from the so called New Town where there's a long strip of bars and reataurants. The hop on hop off bus and the boat tours are steps away. The htel over looks the sea as well, so you have a different Perspective than if you were in town.

The rooms are small and vary significantly depending Which floor they put you on ( the higher the better) and proximity to Elevators. We had a room with a water view but it was right above the hotel bar abd was very loud until 2am. Ask for a room at the opposite end to the outside bar.

Excellent facilities, well positioned for travelling. The afternoon pancakes were fun and evening meal was great. Overall, makes a visit to an expensive city, value for money.

Buffet Dinner was included in the price. Refreshments were available all day free of charge.

Our booked room was not available, we were "upgraded" to a disabled room, did not feel comfortabele. Dinner is : this was the worstest buffet I have ever seen, you can't give this the name dinner !!

Very easy access to all the facilities in Bergen - museums, boat trips, funicular and the historic bryggen quarter. Refreshments available throughout the day: Afternoon pancakes and fruit readily available Evening meal included in price.

Having booked a superior room with a harbour view 3 months in advance we were 'upgraded' to a family room on arrival because they had filled all the superior rooms. It was very spacious but was overlooked by an adjacent 7 storey office block with at least 100 windows looking into us. With no net curtains this meant a complete lack of privacy! On complaining we were moved the following day to a room with a view of the harbour and not charged for the first night. Room was rather tatty with a stained carpet, blistering plasterwork, marked walls and loose toilet roll holder. It was not up to the standard of the other hotel Gabelshus, in the same group in Oslo that we stayed in and was more expensive. Disappointing! Wouldn't stay there again as it was very much a stopping off place for people taking cruises or on business for which it was suited.

It is close to the citi center, bryggen (place for all sea side bars and pubs) bus stop is right outside and airport express bus drops and pick from the gate, very convenient location, very nice and friendly staff. Pancakes, evening meal and coffee and soda machine are a brilliant idea

The bathroom door was partially made of clear glass, so from the room it was possible to see the person sat on the toilet bowl... Quite unusual, for us.

Perfect location, nice staff. A possibility to have free coffee/tea 24 hours in the lobby or to take to the room (self service).

We chose this hotel due to its high reviews rating at booking.com. However, 8.8 rating here usually means perfect service, which was not the case of this hotel (also taking into account the cost of more than 250 eur per night for a room "with harbour view"). The harbour view actually is a side view of the harbour. The price includes "an evening meal", which appears to be a selection of really light and simple meals at the buffet (salads, etc) - can be interesting only for people who are on diet, so it's hard to understand why this service is included in the price. No safe in the room. Wi-fi available with password which changes every day.
