The elegant Hotel Continental is centrally located in Oslo, only 500 ft from Oslo’s main street, Karl Johan. It is the only 5-star hotel in Norway, and offers free in-room Internet access. Location 5-star? Not possible. No bell-boy. Had to carry luggage in the rain by ourselves. Tiny, tiny lobby and we thought the receiption was actually the Concierge desk, but it was the receiption! Theathercoffee shop was closed for renovation. No information received that this was the case. Reception staff didnt explain hotels facilities, which the hotel actually do not have any of anyhow!, didnt ask if we wanted to make dinner or breakfast reservations, room (we stayed in deluxe)was anything than deluxe! Not even a toothbrush, no tea/coffemaking facilities, even found a toenail in the bed!, from previous guest? Does it mean they havent change bedsheet! We paid over EUR 200.00 for this room without breakfast since we thought we would get a 5-star accomodation and treatment. We got a 3-star, overpriced, bad service experience instead.Stay away from this hotel and book anything else to avoid what we had to go through.

Very friendly helpful staff . Very comfortable room. Excellent location. Bookings .com website said that the hotel had an indoor swimming pool which is incorrect. This however did not take from the enjoyment of my stay.

None - No exceptional good things for 5 stars hotel - breakfast was OK no facilities at all - no swimming pool - no fitness - no sauna - Moreover very noisy. Althoug room reserved in front view - received view in backview... superior room quite small ...Drinks in bar are very expensive as everywhere in Oslo

Excellent location, charming historical atmosphere, extremely professional staff, gorgeous restaurant Theatercaffeen... perfect place to stay to discover Oslo. For a Leading Hotel of the World, we were expecting the rooms to be more spacious and with some more touches of luxury.

Lacation is great, very close to airport train station, less than30 sec walk, right on Karl Johan, close to manny good restaurants and also some nice places inside hotel No spa available in hotel, but through s partner approx 15 min away with taxi

Great Restaurants: The Lobby Cafe with the Edward Munch Paintings Collction and the Theatercafeen are a must. Beautiful and comfortable large Rooms. Great Location too directly at the National Theater and the Flytoget Subway Station to Oslo Airport. The famous Aker Brygge Dining and Shopping Center next to the Sea is also only 5 mins walk away. On Saturday 9pm the entire lobby was closed because of "no guests". Only after inquiring I was offered a place to sit down.This is unheard of for a 5-Star Hotel. Oh, and the Cappuchino offered during breakfast and in the Daglistuen Cafe is only a coffee with milk.

A well maintened traditional yet modern (sic) hotel that is well managed with its guest comfort and enjoyment being their solo purpose. The room was cold (it was Norway in January!) but within minutes an extra heater was brought to the room.

The facilities and rooms are discretely and elegantly decorated. The location is probably the best in Oslo centre. Fabulous restaurants adjecent. The breakfast was good but nothing out of the ordinary for Oslo hotels of a certain standard.

Proximity to everything we were going to do: Dine and go to a consert. The room was tastefully furnished and breakfast was excellent also in atmosphere. The lounge area in the lobby was wonderful, too. We could hear people and the bass of music playing until three at night. (Earplugs helped) Bathtub a bit high to get in and out of when we wanted a shower.

The best think at this hotel is location-oit is really perfect. It is 5 minutes walk from the center of the city and 5 minutes work from harbor. Restaurant on the ground floor is good- meal is tasty and atmosphere is cosy. Breakfast is also good. Internet is free Furnitire in our room was old -fashioned. There was a smell of a ancient times. We have room for two persons and it was rather small and there was complect of towel for one person only. The hotel looks different from pictures on booking.com and hotels site. Additionally there was no slippers, no barhrobe and no coffemachine in my room

It is centrally located in Oslo next to the national theater and the top restaurant Theater kafeen. The hotel is also close to the Metro and many tourist attractions and shopping.The service is very good. When I had trouble with my I phone they were willing to lend me a computer. We requested a quiet room and it was waiting for us. We had a great time.

Last night (Friday to Saturday) there was a lot of noice from a night club across the street from midnight to 03:30. Hotel compensated this by reducing price, and made note that next time would get a quit room.
