The location was perfect and the room beautiful. Very tastefully furnished. The room was too warm, and we could not find a thermostat to turn the temperature down.

Good location, not a bad price considering it is Norway! Good breakfast spread. Nice comfortable bedroom, large modern bathroom Seemed slightly disorganised on arrival and checkout. Can be slightly noisy in the evening from the bar/restaurant downstairs/next door - they give you ear plugs by your bed. But to be fair it wasn't that noisy just every so often til about 10pm you could hear voices.

This is the perfect hotel to stay at either for business or pleasure. The service is great, the taste in the design and the atmosphere is excellent! The far best hotel in Bergen city when it comes to service, value for money and easy access to what ever you need, as well shopping, art or a visit to the nearby mountains. For business people, it is great to experience a more unique style , friendliness from staff and still have high stander, like a normal business hotel.

The hotel is delightful. The rooms are quite beautiful, with traditional furnishings and fittings which give them a wonderful old-fashioned charm. The staff are nice too, very friendly and helpful. And the location next to the old harbour is perfect for exploring the best parts of Bergan. We loved this hotel.

The hotel is very nice with comfortable beds and everything you can need in the room. But it was quite difficult to find the door to the hotel, I had to search for 10 minutes and it is the same door as to the bar/restaurant upstairs, no sign for the hotel. And the room was very cold, both the room and the bathroom. Nice with the bathtub, you needed a bath to get warm, and te facilities. Breakfast was ok. I really liked the design and are very pleased with my stay at Det Hanseatiske Hotel.

Staff friendly and spoke great English which really helped. Great location. Great food in the Mezzo bar with 15% off if you're staying there. Nice big beds! The main reason we choose this hotel was because it was a listed building that showed beautiful bathrooms with old style tubs and wooden beams, we paid the higher rate for this but were put in the new section (not mentioned on the site) which had no bathtub as advertised and it was a very modern room, we did get moved the next night after complaining but it was still a modern room, not what we had seen on the website when booking.

It is a very nice and comfortable hotel to stay in. The decor of the room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. Location is excellent and the building itself is part of the historical city centre and for that it has a unique feel to it. Price of accomodation is too high as everywhere else in the country but it was worth the extra money.

The rooms are quite large but the atmosphere is very cosy and stylish. The hotel is dimly lit making it much more romantic than most chain hotels. The shower is powerful, the bath is big and the bathroom floor is heated which is great on a colder day. Staff are very friendly and the location is perfect for those visiting on a leisure break.

Room was tucked up into the roofspace. It was narrow and small. Some might say it was full of character but I just say different. Really steep staircase to get to the room. Don't get me wrong-- the hotel was nice but I just get wound up when hotels create spaces from nothing and still charge full rates.

So surprised this is not listed in the guide books. Only 16 rooms, roll top baths, lot of room, unesco world heritage listed building, resturaunts onsite, great toilettries, quirky loung area where reception is just a table all for a great deal of under £100. Beautiful

The front desk staff was helpful. I did not like that the guest rooms could be accessed from the street, alley, etc. without walking through the lobby. As a single female traveler, I usually choose small hotels because they feel more secure. This did not. Also, the alley got very noisy at night. I was immediately concerned when I noticed complimentary ear plugs on the night stand.

Everything about our stay at Det Hanseatiske Hotel was excellent. We chose it because it was conveniently located in the Bryggen buildings and we wanted to treat ourselves. Everything has been beautifully designed and carefully maintained in this centuries old building. One half of the hotel is newer, with more modern decor but the traditional side is also fabulous. Our original room was in the modern section and while it was amazing, we moved rooms because it was a little dark. Our second room was in the older section, up in the attic, and it too was amazing. The rooms are spacious with their own bathrooms, high quality linens and attention to every detail. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel price is not the cheapest but it is well worth the price and a good choice if you want to treat yourself at least once during your stay in Bergen/Norway.

Our stay was comfortable. The location was very good. Maybe a small wardrobe would have improved convenience when using this hotel as a base for a stay of several days...Included beakfast was excellent. The overall experience was very good.

Great location. Beautiful suite. Regular rooms are very small. Be careful leaving your car on the street. Better to bite the bullet and park in the public garage. Cheaper than a parking ticket.

Great design, rooms were spacious, breakfast was great, loved the cholocate croissants! Most of the staff were nice and helpful. A few seemed somewhat distant/aloof. If I managed the hotel, I would focus on this as it's always great to provide travelers with information and help them around. This is not a complaint as most answered questions and were very nice. Especially the young lady (cant recall her name). I think she's fairly new - she was very nice and helpful.
