Super location, nice people, very nice atmosphere, fantastic food, great after-ski, and perfect snow. we can only recommend a trip to Dr. Holmls.
Friendly Staff, tasty breakfast, clean room. Nice atmosphere.
Disapointed when jacuzzi was out of order, There was no information about This at arrival.
The hotel was really wonderful, very cozy. Great food and breakfast. Bowling Alley was really fun, pool hot tub, steam room and sauna all great after a day of skiing. We had both beginner and advanced adult skiers in our group and both had a fun time on the slopes.
Our room was great and updated, our friends room was not updated but was still comfortable.
The food, including the buffets was excellent - a very good range of choices. The Christmas decorations were very tasteful and the masseuse was good at easing back tension. Reception area was stunning and the public areas newly redecorated. Norwegian objects decorated the corridors. Staff were exceptionally helpful and all spoke English. The room was very quiet. We really enjoyed our stay at Dr Holm's.
Although the room had a view of the mountains with fabulous sunrises and sunsets and the bathroom was fine, the room itself was a bit drab, it could do with some refurbishment. Alcohol is expensive, but we appreciate that taxes are high.
The atmosphere Great food Nice staff
Poor wifi connectivity Noise from the bar throughout the night
The wellness area, the bar, the food and the surroundings
We were a couple and had two single beds put together in a double room.
Wifi did not work where we were on the 3rd floor. Room 303. A big disappointment. When we told the clerk all we got was "you can try our lobby computer! " Dr holmes advertises that wifi available everywhere. We were forced to sit in the lobby area since that was the only place i could connect. No breakfast buffet either, too few guests. Well dr holmes boasts a culinary experience too, that neither came to pass. We had to order from a sheet of paper, and if we wanted fresh fruit that would cost extra! A big disappointment.
Due to road works found the hotel hard to locate
The service, the food, the whole feel of the hotel. Really, THANK YOU!
Wonderful range of atmospheric, well-decorated public rooms, like the library with many of Dr Holms' leather-bound books. Room & bathroom modern & clean. We had a corner room with a great outlook, a desk, sofa & two armchairs. The American Diner & Bowling Alley were good evening venues. Wonderful hotel difficult to leave.
Dated equipment in the gym, no towels, no water, no cleaning fluids, no scales, but it did the job. No coffee machine at breakfast. These are minor points in an overall positive experience.
Lots of tradition with old style charm and great history. Wonderful public rooms, reception, dining room and bar! Old Norway!!
We were here low season, I hope! Hardly any people around which do not bother us but the dining experience was all but satisfactory. Very nice service person. Good wine by the glass. However, !!!!! The meal was very, very disappointing for a hotel such as this. A la carte offered only one fish, one meat and one vegetarian. Ok! Our meat main dish was almost not to manage! Tough meat and worse sauce! Vegetables without taste. I can only hope that the chef coke had the evening off. Maybe his assistant also! The manager was informed! Pity for such a grand old house. Will try again later though because we are often here!
Friendly staff. Good restaurant. The hotel has a lot of charm and history.
A bit old and worn. We lived in the old part of the hotel.
Pool and saunas were under mentioned but were the best part! No one was at either the pool, steam room, sauna or jacuzzi both times we went. It was an unexpected pleasure and surprise.
Several areas were closed due to summer renovations. However that is to be expected during the low season.
Availability at time of booking, Friendly reception and bar staff. Overall character and decor of hotel.
As we had a table for two in the Al-a-carte restaurant being seated in close proximity to another couple (as if we were dining with them). Waiting over a hour for our main meal when others who arrived later got their meal earlier. Not being asked how wanted steak cooked and being served rare.
1) staff was nice and helpful 2) good parking facilities
1) both breakfast and dinner buffet was very simple compared to the standard of the hotel 2) gym was out of date
Location is top. Free bikes were very nice to have. Geilo is a great destination for hiking and cycling in Summer. We had the indoor swimming pool area to ourselves. The bowling alley is new, and if you like bowling, you'll enjoy it.
The hotel is 105 years old and some of the furniture and fittings look about 105 years old too. Various areas are in need of a refurbishment. The standard rooms are quite small.
Historical building and unique atmosphere. Great breakfast. Free bikes to borrow. Location.
No proper shoe curtain or way to shower without splashing all over the bathroom. Room lacks comfortable sitting chairs. Walls lack sufficient sound-proofing.
The location are very good for alpint.
The dining area and behind the counter at the Bowling was very dirty.
Facilities are amazing! So much to do, kept us busy for 3 good days. Gorgeous location and building all together.
Was not the cleanlinest but not a big deal. Nothing discusting, just some minor things you wouldn't expect to see in a hotel at this price, but it is really no big deal, the facilities make up for it.
The welcoming when we arrived. The receptionists were excellent. The staff during the stay. Always a smile. Breakfast were really nice.
The bistro. We had a reservation but they couldn't find it. We got poor seating , in front of door, when we were promised good seatings. Waitreses overlooked us severeal times, and waited almost 20 minutes for drinks. Food was good. When we asked for bill, it took another 15 minutes. The staff did not see us. Cosy place, but very noisy.
Ski in and out and all facilities on site made our weekend stay very easy and comfortable. I would really recommend Dr Holms and the very helpful staff.
