No service at all before 9:30 am: No front desk, very poor breakfast, BURNED coffee which was sitting in warm position from last night. Few poor things in the refrigirator which were not enough in quantity and quality for the guests. I called few times a day before and on arriving day but no answer- I was told it is the cell phone of the owner SON. Price is in the sky for what we (didn't) get. TV didn't work in the room. They didn't specify the street name for address of motel, even so I asked for directions and GPS coordination a week before arrival (it has service of less than a standard motel)
Hotel in a wonderful location to enjoy the fjord and take a bath, but you can do it without staying in the hotel. For the rest, must be avoided. Not clean, staff airhead, abandoned hotel at night by the owners, breakfast (included) is not served at the time promised (8:30!), Banquet self serive with leftovers, no milk, no butter, with coffee the day before! At 9:15 I phoned the management asking for breakfast money back. At least I got money back!
The location of this hotel was just right for us. It was easy for extended family to visit with us and the food was both hearty as well as filling. The weather was delightfully and unexpectedly warm which made swimming and wading in the nearby fjord very enjoyable. Not a big tourist stop which made things very peaceful.
Hard to access wifi but being off the grid can be a good thing.
Polite and helpful staff. Excellent view of the fjord from the restaurant and from the room. Clean. I hug to the very positive and cheery girl who seemed to be the only one working there while the older man was watching TV.
Awful dinner for a high price (although most food in Norway is expensive and of low quality). We ordered hamburger plate (for 130 NKR) and everything on that plate were cheap ready-to-eat stuff they had bought in some grocery store, they made nothing from scratch, no sauce, only ketchup, salad very cheap with lots of corn. Breakfast was awful as well, nothing authentic, also ready-to-eat stuff from the store, cucumber was too old to eat at all. The sign near the road says "Hotel - Restaurant", which is misguided in my opinion. The food was of worse quality and tasted worse than from a cheap kiosk. The room was ok, but the extra bed we got was awful, actually painful to sleep on. No glass or cup in the bathroom. There was a huge freezer/fridge in the room, making an awful noise. It was empty and totally redundant. I dared not turn it off though, since it was full of ice (probably never been de-iced), and I didn't wanna wake up with floor covered with water. Kitchen in room was also totally redundant since there were no utensils at all. All in all, it was an ok budget hotel with an excellent view. Just don't eat dinner there, and skip the breakfast too if possible. Also don't go there if you are more than 2 persons, since then you need to use one of the awful extra beds. And don't be sensitive to the noise from the fridge in the room.
Very useful stopover location which is fairly traditional with comfortable beds and adequate food. After a days travelling it was beautiful sitting on the veranda with a drink and the sun reflecting off the fjord
