Big rooms, excellent location The hotel staff could be more professional - this relates both to the room service/room cleaning as well as the reception. For the price charged per night, a first class service should be offered.

Right in the middle of the city centre, but still quiet environment. Lack of professionalism; key card didn't work several times, half a day no internet facility; confirmed late check-out not respected; 4 times people from staff entered my room, of which 2 times without knocking on the door.

Leaving, we left 2 days earlier than planned From the start everything was inefficient. We were told there was no booking for us, it was their computer system or lack thereof, in first name order rather than surname. We were designated a room already occupied. Breakfast was extremely poor, orange juice watered, when there was any, if food ran out even long before breakfast times finished then it was not replenished, coffee/tea machines not working at times.Computer in foyer for guests not in working order.Staff smoking outside on pavement during working hours. Total lack of any management figure.Lack of housekeeping supervision, carpets not vacummed day of our arrival. The list of complaints is endless.

The location is great. Very dated interiors in rooms and the pillows are shocking. The breakfast selection is very limited.

It was a great location central to the tourist locations. The hotel provided a complimentary coach journey to the Hurtigruten cruise ship terminal which was totally unexpected There was a 24 hour free tea/coffee machine and water machine, which was appreciated considering the eye watering prices of everything in Norway. None

Location, interier & exterier Reception: nice staff, but the services were with problems as promised packed breakfast were not prepared, computer was not working, so we didn´t get invoice. Room: we wanted separate beds (twin room) and it was not prepared (we should seaparate it ourselfs), quite dangerous shower in the bath - very slippery when using built-in side shower.

The upgrade from standard to deluxe room was brilliant. It was expensive but everything is expensive in Norway and particular in Bergen.

Standard of room 617: eventhough we have nothing worthy of complaining about, we felt the room was a bit shabby and in clear need of an upgrade, particularly since this was a combined conference /bed room. I would not have accepted this room if I had booked it for a conference. The walls needed painting, the curtains were torn, the furniture could do with an upgrade, and the conference table had a worn table top.

The hotel's location in the Bryggen is excellent. The room was very small and the furniture/decoration is in need of refurbishment, although the bathroom was in good condition. The furniture was very dark which made the room feel dark, as there didn't appear to be much sunlight coming into the room and the lighting in the room was not that bright. The walls were very marked. The towels in the bathroom were very small and thin. The communal areas, especially the corridors, were in poor condition. Hopefully the refurbishment the hotel has planned will address these areas.

Location is excellent and there is a good choice of breakfast Parking is very limited and access is difficult for anything larger than a hatch-back. The harbour views are nice but the area is very noisy and the room is not sound-proofed. Take earplugs if you select harbour view rooms. Harbour view rooms are also a long walk from reception and breakfast areas.

Excellent location, very nice old traditional building. Room was spacious with nice view over the harbor! The room at the first floor we initially got, had no a/c and the ventilation system brought a bad odor from the restaurant below. After we complained twice (the reception guys were not very helpful at the beginning) the hotel manager seemed to be aware of the problem and we got another room at the 4th floor where the odor was not so annoying!

The location, although it was noisy in the evening, but then one expects noise if one choses to stay along a busy harbor area Poor service, no one to help with luggage, particularly since there were steps to navigate, shabby furnishings, not particularly clean and cluttered parking facility.
