I was really surprised to be the only guest in the entire hotel with 26 rooms (If I recall) on one of the nights I spent here. It's situated at the back of the east side of Tennevoll and it has great views of the fjord, as do the rooms, restaurant, foyer. The room itself was very spacious and well furnished. It was warm and had a huge window overlooking the fjord. I did a speedtest.net on the internet and it received 10Mbps download with 8Mbps upload, which was quite impressive considering I'm used to 4mbps in Scotland. Dinner was delicious on both nights, the same goes for breakfast which is included in the room rate. If you're early enough, you can catch the freshly made bread when its warm and soft. Very tasty with the cheese and ham also laid out. There's so much in the hotel. Gallery upstairs, huge restaurant, large foyer with a widescreen tv and 26 rooms. That's the reason I said it's a shame it's so secluded and under- visited. One of the highlights of the stay was that the bathroom was quite large and it had under-floor heating which was like a treat anytime you went in there. Warms the feet right up. The owner was very friendly and approachable and even offered directions etc when I said I was visiting the Polar Zoo. Out of the three hotels I stayed at throughout my week in Norway (Altafjord, Vica Thon, Fjellkysten) this one was my favourite and the most memorable. It might have been the fact that it was so quiet with there being no-one else there but it just felt a bit more personal. Some hotels you just feel like a room number, not a person in the eyes of the staff but not here.

There were only 3 little negative points but it didn't taint the experience overall whatsoever. The first was that I didn't get fresh towels on the second day but it wasn't really a problem. Second was a strange clicking noise that started on the second night. It sounded like it was coming from the bed but I got up and it kept going. Never did find out what it was. Third was that there were a few cob-webs here and there. All in all, a great stay, would thoroughly recommend it and would stay here again.

It was located so that we could see fjord and mountains from our window. Silent place, small hotel with just few customers (maybe because it not close to main roads). There were only few staff members but all of them were polite and helpful. Good place to stay one night in way.

Not too many alternatives for dinner ( you can understand that because was small place with just few customers). Dinner was quite pricy compared to quality.

Der Mitarbeiter war überaus freundlich und hat uns (obwohl er allein Dienst hatte) auf unsere Bitte hin das Zimmer mit dem schönsten Ausblick auf den Fjord fertig gemacht. Das Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig, obwohl wir fast die einzigen Gäste waren.

Sehr ruhig, wunderbare Aussicht, sympathischer Koch.

Aldeles fantastisk. Høy comfort, veldig trivelige drivere. En utsikt og beliggenhet som tar helt pusten fra deg, og utrolig vakkert og barnevennlig. En plass som varmt kan andefales om du skal på rekreasjon eller ferietur.

Dårlig service. Hadde bestilt rom men den var gitt til noen andre. Synes personen i resepsjonen ga meg "skylda" for det og gikk i forsvar. Hadde heldigvis bekreftelsen med. Rommet manglet dusjsåpe og håndsåpe og begge putene var av meget dårlig kvalitet. Helt flate, tror ikke det var vanlige puter, men overputer. Resepsjonisten virket sur og sa vi hadde jo kommet en time for tidlig, at man kan sjekke inn kl 16 og klokken var da 15. Jeg viste bekreftelsen på bestillingen og der sto kl 15. Han sa da at det ikke var hotellets internettside!!! Da vi ankom hadde de frivillige som satt der store problemer med å finne den ansvarlige (resepsjonisten) og det ble mye venting. Og jeg synes resepsjonisten opptrådde meget uhøflig. Torde forøvrig ikke si ifra om manglene på rommet pga. den sure personen i resepsjonen!!! Forøvrig ble vi stoppet av en ung vakt som sa vi ikke får benytte hotellets parkering selv om vi var hotellgjester. Ble henvist til et jorde et godt stykke fra hotellet. Vi fikk aller nådigst kjøre opp til hotellet og laste av (hadde mye bagasje). Så da at det var mange ledige parkeringsplasser der, så vi var "ulydige" og parkerte der. Synes og det var en meget sparsommelig frokost på lørdagen, veldig lite pålegg og manglet tilbehør som agurk, tomat m.m. Søndag var litt bedre. Fikk fanget opp at flere gjester opplevde lignende. Vel, det frister ikke å bo der flere ganger.

Hôtel très très vieillissant. La chambre était sale et sentait mauvais. D'ailleurs la fréquentation semblait quasi nulle. Malgré cela, lors de notre arrivée, on nous a remis par erreur la clef d'une chambre non nettoyée. Nous ne sommes même pas restés pour le petit déjeuner.

We stayed here for visiting the Polar Zoo. Beautiful view and nice people. There is a dance party going on the day which we stay. It was really nice!!

If you stay there for off season, it is better to prepare food before you go!

Topp Lage, Besitzer sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, sehr persönlicher, netter Umgang, sehr ruhig, viele Infos zu Umgebung, Freizeitaktivitäten

leider etwas unorganisiert, keine Infos über spätes Frühstück am Wochenende, für Gäste die länger bleiben: keine Zimmerreinigung, Handtuchwechsel auf Anfrage, Frühstück sehr einseitig, wenig Komfort, eher Jugendherbergscharakter - das wäre alles ok, dafür ist aber der Preis zu hoch und es ist aus dem Angebot nicht ersichtlich.

Our adventure started with a room that we booked, but that was not available due to hotel mismanagement (maybe anthroposophs are not able to use the internet?). Then they told us to wait for 30-60 minutes so they can free up a room for us. We had to wait 1.5 hours without any information till we got the room. As we finally got it, we noticed that it is more a youth hostel than a hotel, but for the price of a hotel. 25 years ago, furniture might have been new... After closing the door, we still heard outside people talking as if they were in our room. Unfortunately later there was a private party going on until 2:00 am, so we did not shot an eye.
