Gudvangen Fjordtell & Apartments  

Pour 3, nous avons bénéficié d'un véritable appartement avec kitchenette, très propre et spacieux. Parking facile, à proximité de l'arrivée du ferry. Petit déjeuner varié et copieux

La pluie ... mais l'hôtel n'y est pour rien !!!

Le concept de la chambre est sympa (décoration bois sculpté type viking). Lit très confortable. Le restaurant offre des plats copieux et d'assez bonne qualité avec un buffet fourni (le petit déjeuner aussi) dans une grande salle avec de beaux décors type viking, bien sûr.

Dommage que le concept de la déco viking n'ai pas été poussée jusqu'à la salle de bain qui est très kitch comme les rideaux de la chambre. La propreté et l'entretien laissent à désirer (pommeau de douche et chasse d'eau fuyards, bois de la chambre mal entretenu et ensemble pas très net). Bien que cela ne fasse pas trop viking on s'attendait à un minimum d'équipement (télé, bouilloire, frigo...). On nous a alléché avec une nuit étoilé grâce à un toit vitré mais une forte présence de buée et de mousse rendaient la vue du ciel impossible. De plus, une moitié des chambres donne sur le fjord et/ou sur la rivière, l'autre moitié donne sur le parking du ferries ou sur la boutique souvenir et tout ça au même prix (injuste). La salle de repas et de petit déjeuner se trouve envahie de touristes (déposés par les ferries et les bus) à partir de 8 heures du matin (voir plus tôt) car la boutique souvenir est attenante à la salle et au bar. Pour ceux qui sont à la recherche d'un petit déj' tranquille s'abstenir! Dans l'ensemble mauvais rapport qualité prix.

L'emplacement!! Magique!!!

Trop cher pour ce que c'est!!!! Le plastique de la salle de bain et la moquette dan sla chambre nous a derangé, vu le prix (180 € pour un hotel standard de 70 ou 80 €. L'arrivée en ferry de Bergen vers 14h30, ne permet pas d'autres départs parce qu'il n'ya pas de tansport qui permet l'allée et le retour dans l'après-midi.

10 chambres dans un bâtiment séparé. Ambiance "viking" (lit, bois, déco, peau de renne sur le lit) un peu kitch mais il faut jouer le jeu ! Personnel très sympa, l'hôtel dispose d'une boutique de souvenirs et d'un gigantesque restaurant/terrasse sur le fjord.

Hôtel vide, étions la seule chambre réservée. Pas de tv, village perdu, ambiance un peu morne. Saison non démarrée, donc un peu bof côté nourriture (beurre périmé au petit déjeuner, jus de pomme rance ...). Dommage

Beautiful countryside and scenery of the fjords, excellent buffet breakfast including make your own waffles, very friendly staff, gorgeous setting. Our room had a skylight that was a great view of the waterfalls when lying in bed!

Bed was uncomfortable and pillows were very lumpy

Hotel is located on a tourist route, and it is seen too much on the price.

Gudvangen lies between steep mountains in the narrow Nærøy fjord, and approaching it by ferry is a beautiful experience. Such a magical location, like taken out of a fantasy novel, would deserve some posh accomodation where the guests would feel like they were being attended by elves! Instead there is an overpriced and rather mangy hotel full of viking kitsch, right next to a ferry terminal with six lanes for cars and buses, and a gas station by the highway. They presumably earn their living from feeding the busloads of tourists who once in their life pass there along the "Norway in a Nutshell" tour, since I can't imagine anyone being a regular guest at this hotel! We stayed in an "apartment", i.e, a room with a minimum of furniture and decorations, a bathroom (with a leaking toilet) and a very small kitchen. Not very pleasant at all. Perhaps the ordinary rooms (those with a ceiling window) are better? If I could go back in time and plan the trip again, I would try to find a room in nearby Stalheim or Undredal instead; those places seemed a lot nicer.

The view was ok.

The apartment was very bad. It was very noisy and smelled. The apartment was old and the toilet smelled very much. This was the most expensive hotel in Norway on our trip and at the same time absolutely the worst one. I would rather sleep in a normal car than in this hotel.

Awesome location, great staff and tasty food. This location is not only gorgeous but very convenient for boat tours and such. I recommend it. It is much quieter and peaceful than Flam, but close enough to go tour Flam if desired.

The skylight in the room was great during the day but horrible for trying to sleep with how light it stays in the summer time. My stay would have been much improved if that could be covered during the night. I think it was great to have breakfast included, it would be even more awesome and attractive of a place if more was included in the price. If a boat tour was included or at least a discount for staying there that would have been just perfect. Or a dinner.

The location

Breakfast was ok, not upto the typical Norwegian standard, dinner had buffet was expensive and warm food was not worth it, the salad and the desserts were ok.
