I arrived at the hotel in thick fog so it took 3 passes of the building before I actually saw it. It is a fantastic looking hotel from the outside and once inside it's even better. My room was one of the newer ones and it was very nice indeed. Bathroom was excellent with a very comfortable bath complete with complimentary bath salts. The sauna and pool were very welcome after driving all day in poor visibility and rain. The breakfast was excellent, the choice of items was staggering. I'll be back in the summer to see that fabulous view I missed due to the fog. I don't have anything to say against the hotel except maybe the lack of free wi-fi which the other hotels I stayed in seem to offer. |

Breakfast was really good! The bed was uncomfortable, the mattress too thin and soft for my taste. I stayed over the weekend and the cleaning service was very poor. They didn't replace the complimentary toilet products and they didn't vacuum either. |

I wanted to see Oslo but travelling alone, I wanted to escape the city, which is how I came to the Holmenkollen Park Hotel. It's a lovely hotel, but be warned - like all the other reviews say, it is a bit out of the city, which is a plus or minus depending on what you're looking for. I liked the idea of escaping from the city to the mountains, and I got what I was looking for. The room was comfortable, nice bathroom with a bath but there wasn't much of a view from my room, but from outside of the hotel was lovely. As all of the other reviewers have said, it is about 20-25 minutes from the city but the Metro runs often (indicated by a T in a circle - don't get confused and think this is the sign for trams!) and while it ends the stop befo |

Excellent breakfast, with a huge choice of everything. Charming position at the top of the hill with a splendid view over Oslo (superior room). Quiet rooms. Too narrow beds, acctually the double bed was like two small twin beds put together, very soft. Location out of town, time consuming travel to the Oslo centrum by public transport, moreover subway station next to the hotel is closed, need to change and wait for a bus instead. |

Excellent dinner restaurant for the evenings. One of the very best breakfast I had in the Nordic countries, fresh and rich. Nice place, far from the center but in a beautiful view point. |

Very nice hotel located in a beautifful place with the excellent view on Oslofiord. Hotel staff is very friendly and hospitable. We stayed in comfortable room with a huge window with a marvelous view from it. But what we liked more in the hotel it's a breakfast!!! The breakfast was just perfect! |

Good bed - comfortable mattress.Tea making facility Quality of dinner was very poor. The buffet was not inspriing and very expensive. Wine is sold at an extraordinary price. The spa area was very poor especially since they advertsie their sauna and spa facility. The sauna was very basic and only took two people. The jaccuzi only works for 20 mins then turns off for 20 mins. Very disappointing. |

Clean and comfortable. If you are looking at spending time in the city, this is not the ideal place as the ride to the city is quite far. We were not informed of the train track being under construction. The journey from and to the hotel, when ever we had to go out was very inconvenient as a result. |

Mainly a city break, the hotel facilities and view is stunning, the breakfast buffet was the best I have ever seen. Rooms were well equiped. For a city break the hotel was a bit far from the centre as there is work being done but this is not a negative as the surrounds are amazing. |

We were camping and were looking for a nice alternative in Oslo due to bad weather. The Holmenkollen Park Hotel Rica was an excellent choice. We liked the building style of the central part of the hotel (the extension building with the hotel rooms is a normal building) and the magnificent view overlooking Oslo Fjord from the hotel room. The breakfast buffet offered a wide range of different styles of breakfast and should make everybody happy. Holmenkollen subway station is nearby (10min walk down the hill), so the hotel can be easily reached from the city centre. At the time of our stay (August 2009) the subway track was being upgraded and there was no service to Holmenkollen station, but there were high frequency bus replacement services. |

The quite time away of the city. The ten minutes walk from the bus stop. The add did not specify that rooms with view are extra. I would have paid more for the excellent view. |

We've got a nice view as requested, excellent breakfast. The bus (1B) connection from the train station to the hotel was very poor. It was rarely on time. Even worse, the bus usually left before the train arrived. That means the passengers have to wait for the next bus. There was one day that we and the other guests of the hotel were waiting for a bus in the rain for more than half an hour. ... To improve this, during the construction of the railway, the hotel should have provided a shuttle bus service to pick up their guests at the last stop of the train line 1. That would make this hotel even more attractive... |
