Atlantic coastal highway/ bridges is scenic as advertised but not appropriate for most riders or the faint of heart. There are guard rails wherever the road is elevated and little room between the rail and the traffic, forcing cyclists into the vehicle lane. Many large 18-wheel trucks travel this road. One of us came terrifyingly close to getting hit when the driver of a car realized he could not swerve around us because of an oncoming truck and at full speed squeezed between the truck and the cyclist, with just inches to spare.
The kitchen in our 2-bedroom cottage was the best of any of the ten places we stayed while in Norway, with ample counter space and everything we needed for cooking. The combination living room/ dining area was homey and comfortable. The three of us rented bikes and took a lovely, bucolic back road to the Atlantic Highway and then across the bridges. An enjoyable ride -- until we reached the guard-railed coastal highway.
