Kviknes Hotel  

We stayed in 4 hotels during our trip and this was the one we enjoyed the most. The setting, the staff, the design and decor of the hotel were wonderful We appreciated and enjoyed a small tour of the public rooms and artwork by one of the staff. Our room was one with a view which was breathtaking. Our room was quiet and the beds were comfortable. The complimentary breakfast included hot and cold dishes and was great. The expensive buffet in the dining room in the evening offered a large and tasty variety. We found the prices of restaurant food in Norway to be quite expensive and this was no exception.

It would be nice to have the setup for coffee and tea in the room.

Have stayed before - we chose it as we have relatives we were visiting in the area. Overall standards are excellent. Would really appreciate a kettle (water boiler) and tea and coffee facilities in the room.

No drinks facilities in the rooms.

The hotel is located in a paradise. Beautiful

Personal not always helpful. Restaurant bar closed at 10 pm. We arrived from one excursion just 5 min before 10. We asked for something to eat, just a sanwich. But answer from service was a big no.

The views are beautiful, one of the most beautiful place I have ever stayed in.

Beautiful hotel, lovely setting. Historic furniture and artifacts well worth seeing. We took lots of pictures, both inside and outside. Fine view of fjord from balcony of 7th floor room. Breakfast buffet is excellent. Balestrand is one of the most picturesque towns I've seen, and the Kviknes is the centerpiece -- it looks good even from the hiking trails up above the town. We're very glad we chose to stay at the Kviknes.

Dinner in the main dining room is a bit expensive.

Gorgeous old hotel in an amazing town. Great location for hikes around the fjords (the ti is nearby and can help with lots of trail maps). Splurged on the dinner at the hotel which was delicious. Hotel is a splurge as well but worth it.

At kelneren som hadde vårt bord I restauranten ikke snakket norsk og var dårligere I engelsk enn det vi selv er.Hun sa videre at vi ikke kunne få den faste menyen fordi kjøkkenet hadde mye å gjøre.Vi reserverte bord I resepsjonen bare en halv time før uten å få noen slik beskjed. Imidlertid ordnet hovmester opp på en utmerket måte og vi fikk maten vi skulle.Nydelig mat!

Baderom luktet mugg. Når vi er I Norge så forventer jeg at hotellpersonalet behersker norsk som språk og taler det.

Vergane glorie waarvan enkel de schitterende locatie overblijft. Voor de rest was men destijds nog beter af in een hotel uit de sovjettijd.

La sua posizione sul fiordo, la parte storica dell'hotel, con sale arredate elegantemente con mobili antichi e d'epoca. La pregevole collezione di dipinti con paesaggi locali. La sala da pranzo accogliente e luminosa e, come il giardino, affacciata sul fiordo.

L'ampliamento dell'hotel è un pugno nell'occhio. L'edificio, è uno scatolone di cemento che incombe sull'albergo storico, per nulla inserito sia sotto l'aspetto architettonico che paesaggistico, nel meraviglioso contesto del vecchio albergo. Ovviamente, tutte le foto presenti sul sito e nella brochure dell'albergo, ritraggono unicamente sia all'esterno che all'interno, la sola parte storica dell'hotel. Nella descrizione delle camere, al momento della prenotazione, non si precisa dove si trova la camera prenotata (struttura storica oppure dependance) lasciando la sorpresa al momento dell'arrivo.

Die traditionsreiche Einrichtung mit den vielen Bildern, welche während drei Generationen gehegt und gepflegt wurden. Wunderschöne Antiquitäten und sehr geschichtsträchtig.Wunderschöne Lage des Hotels im alten Stil, ruhig. Morgenbuffet ausgezeichnet mit grosser Auswahl. Essen im Restaurant a la carte ist ebenfalls lobenswert.

Die vielen Busreisenden, welche dann alle auf einmal an das Abendbuffet zugingen. Obwohl dies meistens Leute aus dem asiatischen Raum waren und sich sehr ruhig und vornehm benahmen, aber es waren einfach zu viele Leute auf einmal da. Mein Vorschlag: man müsste zwei Schichten zum Abendsessen organisieren,
