The room was so basic it had nothing to offer and make our stay enjoyable. The bathroom needed renovation 20 years ago. The beds were old and worn. A shelf protruded to make it impossible to move from one side of the bed. There was no service at breakfast and as food ran out later arriving guests just had to have whats left!!
The location is great, almost right in the center of this small town, next to a grocery store. Breakfast is OK - there were omelet, sausages and meatballs, but not much of a choice of bread, no pastry and in general limited selection of food. The room was very large and had two toilets.
Hotel owners should really invest more into renovating the rooms. Our rooms had three beds, two of which were squeaking so badly that we barely managed to get to sleep. The small sofa, another piece of furniture in the room, is almost broken.
I struggle to put anything in here tbh..
Very poor, rude and unhelpful staff. Traveling in a group of 10 after a 7 day skiing trip we arrived in Rjuken tired but in good spirits. I arrived a day early and their was no booking as i entered which i was told didn't exist even though i had the proof my booking printed out, the room had the smallest bed i have ever seen in it in a deserted hotel which was so dated i think time may have forgotten about it. Once the group arrived the next day we were all refused entry even though the hotel was empty and we had a booking, no early breakfast was available even though we were a large group and no other guests... Upon completing the hour long check in process we were told we were not in the main hotel but the guest house directly opposite. The guest house which the ''masterful'' manager gave us the wrong directions to as he doesn't know what is left and right was not directly opposite the hotel. Upon returning to the hotel the manager finally got off his backside to walk across the road and the bridge and began shouting at members of the group whilst then trying to demand the keys for the guesthouse back due to his own stupidity. Finally after good 400 meter walk 45 minutes of arguments and distress we finally arrived at the so called guest house.... Nowhere else to stay in this town so it was our only option. If i ever have to stay in Rjukan again i would prefer to sleep under the stars than to ever stay here again. The Park Hotel Rjuken is the most unprofessional, poor, rude establishment i have ever come across on this planet.
As guest on a hotel with restaurant I expect to be able to get a meal, even if the restaurant is busy and in this case not complet full, I was asked to wait 2 hours even there was avaible seating
Location. Close to local attractions.
Non-existent Wi-Fi signal in room. Rooms could do with refurbishment.
Cold room when I arrived Bad cooking
