We loved Oslo and found this hotel to be a great value. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and the breakfast will blow your mind. The location can be considered convenient since it is directly in front of the train and bus stations. But beware! While lovely, Oslo is rough around the edges and this location seems to be the center of this roughness. For all of you that know the usa, think greyhound bus station area. There were a plethora of shady characters, homeless, and drug addicts. While we didn't see drug activity per se, I can believe the other posts that mention seeing people shooting up. We did see many blitzed out of their minds. We even saw a police chase (on foot) directly in front of the hotel (the 3 being chased ran right past us). So yes, it's convenient to get to the bus/train/airport - but we'd recommend staying closer to the castle, or if looking at a map, anywhere behind the castle. The neighborhoods are lovely and family friendly. We felt unsafe at our hotel at night. Also recommended - the sculpture gardens and the 2 hour Oslo boat trip (guides at hotel/departs from the city hall Pier 3). It was the highlight of our trip and gave us a unique taste of Norwegian culture. The young woman guide was excellent. Very, very informative and savored. Also, gardens abound. The city is alive - we get the impression that Norwegians really know how to party! But the days hold much for families with children. We would love to return. One last tip: the city is very expensive. We were surprised at just how so. We believe more so than Paris or even ny. A small bottled water at a 7- eleven was about 5 dollars. The parks are free, though. Safety/surrounding activity - see above

The Hotel looks attractive from distance, but very ordinary hotel inside.Nice view over Oslo. Noisy air condition. Low room temp, and it took until next day to warm it up. Window did not close right, so we could hear the ambulances all nignt. Small swimming pool and bad arrangement, as you have to go to the below floor to change. No heating in Sauna.

Internet stopped working on the 11th, at around 2200. No help from front desk, was connected toa helpdesk in denmark , but could not speak to them because of bad connection. Tv worked very badly at the same time, freezing all the time, so probably some difficulties with adsl?

The best thing about this hotel is the access when you come from the airport by bus. It's just behind the bus terminal so you just walk through the shops. It's a safe way even arriving after 10pm. The room service only works until 11pm and once we got to the hotel around 10:45pm we had to do a fast checkin to place our order. I'm glad there wasn't any queue.

The staff were Attentive to the child in our group and gave her a coloring book. We were given a spacious room on the 30th floor so had a wonderful panorama of the city. Anytime I called reception my call was answered in 3 rings and help always successfully given The swimming pool does not have an attendant and it is up 2 flights on a winding staircase which could be a challenge for young children and the less mobile. The rooms were a bit dated but clean.

Excellent location, friendly staff, rooms as one expects. You can't really say that the hotel is appealing or attractive. It does the job as its location is excellent and one gets proper quality but it is all a bit sterile.

Good location just by the central station. In my room the pipes made some loud sounds when others where using their bathrooms, might be very local to my room, but it was annoying to wake up at 06:00.

Excellent location in Oslo just 4 minutes walking distance from the Train Central Station and 2 minutes from the Bus Central Station. Downtown Oslo easily accessible within 6 minutes walking distance. Excellent views of the city and surrounds when staying at higher floor rooms. Was allowed to check-in before the official check-in time.

The staff that served at the breakfast buffet were outstanding. Very efficient and friendly, was very pleased with the service. The buffet was also fantastic with a great range of breakfast foods and selection. Definately our favourite part of our stay :) Check out staff was brilliant. Excellent location. We thought the room was quite small and standard items that we expected to be in a hotel room (iron/ironing board, non slip mat in bath) weren't available unless requested. There was a pants press but we had no idea how to use it properly. The room service was disappointing, we expected the food to be of a higher standard. Didn't go upstairs to the resturaunt as we were a bit put off. The Irish bar downstairs served value for money meals but they weren't all that nice either. Check in staff wasn't friendly.
