Everything was excellent: room, view, breakfast. Some rooms also have jacuzzi. Great restaurant, fitness with Bay View.
Our side of the hotel had a lovely balkony with seaview. We had excellent weather so we could sit there almost every night. The room was large and so was the bathroom. Excellent breakfast buffet! Older reviews are complaining about this, but is seems they have done a lot of effort. The friendly and attentive staff is another thing that we would like to mention. Our baby boy was even welcomed by kisses every morning and loved the haircut of one of the staff so much that this person became his favorite staff member. Nice atmosphere in the bar with live music some evenings. We had diner in the restaurant three times with three different dishes and they were excellent. An extra when travelling with kids is the free acces to Sørlandsbadet! We went there every other day. Pay attention: they advice naked showering; which was akward for us, but that's the Norwegian way! The beach is very close and the water is shallow. Nice pier with lots of crabs and other seafood to catch with a net. Walking distance to major shops, restaurants and city center (app. 3km).
we missed a bathtub since we were travelling with a 1 year old. Bedlinens weren't changed at regular base, had to ask for it. Some dirt under the bed, although it was easy reachable. . We stayed 13 nights, so at least once could they have done it. Reservation costs of a babybed is overpriced (200NOK/night) at our opinion, but it seems to be that way in Norway. In the rest of Europe it's free.
Location is good. Walking distance to the fantastic water park (check opening hours). There is also a nice playgrouynd attached the the caravan park next door. Staff friendly.
Restaurant menu a bit limited.
Very friendly staff and good service at the bar area. Very nice view from the hotell Very friendly and helpfull chefs at the breakfast area Clean rooms and public areas, but not very impressive
Somewhat careless staff in lobby area (And do not speak very good English) Staff seemed to have bad local-knowledge Dark and depressing eating and dining areas The whole & complete impression and feel of the hotel do not match the price
Clean, dinner, wine selection, shower (water pressure)
Breakfast-limited selection. Out of juice. Had to Ask for things when empty. Very expensive
great location at the fjord
service in restaurant was below expectations, food was OK but (as expected) expensive room very basic
we loved hat place, view straight for fjord - amazing!!!
you can hear anything from rooms next to you - from tv to argument. but anyway we will come back!
