Lack of heating in the room! The heating/rad did not work - hence the room was quite cold.

The staff was wonderful, very helpful with what I needed. The room was comfortable and warm, with a view of the harbor. Nothing to dislike at all. Breakfast was good, and coffee and tea were available all day. I would definitely go back again

Ideal location, overall good comfort, services and breakfast. The amazing quality/price balance (special offer 80 Euro). The depressing corridors.

The hotel is excellent situated just a couple of hundred meters from the ferry boat wharf and across the Fish Market and Tourist Information office (which is in the same building, on top of the Fish Market ). Bryggen and the funicular to Fløyen are just a few hundreds of meters away and from the hotel's windows you can actually see many of the top attractions of Bergen. The breakfast served was very good indeed with lots of choices and the hotel's staff was friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi internet is free and available in rooms and two other desktop computers are also offered in the lobby for the clients. Hotel rooms have a hair dryer and bathrooms have soap disposer and an enough number of towels. By booking through the booking.com we have had really a very good bargain and we were absolutely satisfied for it. The rooms' furniture look old and dusty. But the bathroom are refurbished and comfortable and the new tv sets newly installed are flat, wide screens.

I loved the view from the room. It was beautiful looking out onto the old town and surrounding mountainside. The position was perfect for Bergen sight seeing. There was nothing to dislike

Service was friendly. Right in middle of downtown. Waiting to checkout in queue with one person working and four in back chatting with each other.

Location at the keyside and direct access to the ferries and also direct access to what Bergen is known for: "Bryggen and the fish marked". Very god bed. No bathtub. As for the most other hotels I've stayed in lately: Wet bathroom floor after showering.

Bathroom was ridicilously small, probably the smallest I have ever seen in a hotel room. There was no shower curtain.so the whole 1.5 m2 got wet when you showered. I would estimate the size of the shower corner to 50x50cm. Totally unacceptable for a hotel in this price range. The put a family with a young child next to my bedroom. The child woke up screaming and crying 3 times during the night. Not funny when you have meetings all day after. Since the hotel was half empty (no surprise) they could have planned for this and put the family guests on a separate floor or at the end of the hallway. Not difficult if you think about it. Very, very disapointing experinece at this Scandic. I will not come back. The location is excellent. Sorry they do not take advantage of it.

The position was great. The breakfasts were lovely. The room was small but wonderful for us to look out over the water, the markets and the city. We absolutely loved Bergen and would definitely stay at the Scandic Strand again. The staff were very helpful, especially when we had a problem with our Hurtigruten cruise. A great hotel to stay in.

The location is excellent just next to the Fjord cruise terminal, shopping area and opposite the Bryggen warehouses. A walking distance to the funicular station to Mount Floyen. The receptionist was very cheerful and helpful with our requests.

I was very happy to find the hotel using soaps that were not in small non-reusable packaging and an ecological breakfast. However, I found it rather disapointing to place my towels back on the rack in order to not have them changed only to find new towels when I returned.

The room was probably the poorest example of a hotel room I have stayed in in the last 20years. On the Booking.com website it said all rooms overlook the harbour - untrue- mine overlooked a scruffy yard with a very noisy fan outside the window. The hotel room wouldn't have flattered a 1* Blackpool guesthouse - all for £150 per night - bargain (not)!
