Thon Hotel Opera    

Excellent accommodations, hotel restaurant served excellent fish entrees. Close to the train station.

We liked the friendly staff, the location, and the great breakfast buffet.

Construction next door was unsightly, but of course it will be fine in a couple of years when the construction is completed.

Inoperable air conditioning, in the night noise and cold in the room 2311, the horrible experience, staff unable to resolve the situation I complaint 2 times the reception - no solutions, no credit, receptions - delivered smelly and noisy electric heating - horrible

Although the room size is quite small, It is enough for me. The staffs are friendly. It is really close to the oslo S. Even catching flight in early morning is not a problem at all. I would like to stay here again :)

Very good location to everything in Oslo. One of the best hotel bed I ever slept in all around the world. The staff are very friendly, I asked the same day I had to check out if I could have late check out and they said Yes okay. Very good service.

Single rooms VERY small with 3' beds

Staff and house keeper were very nice, helpful and friendly. Room was very clean and bath towels were nice and fresh everyday. Location is excellent for public transport (tram, train, bus) and the city centre by walk, and so suited our short stay in Oslo. Breakfast was very good with wide selection, and very nicely laid out for guests. The decoration and location of the breakfast room were excellent. The chefs were very nice and friendly, and cooked very yummy omlette on request at breakfast. We received the best service from Thon Hotel Opera in Oslo compared to the other 4 star hotels we stayed in Bangkok, Paris, Copenhagen and Stockholm.!!

Wi-Fi was broken on Friday and they claimed they cannot fix it until Monday (!)

The staff was so courteous and went beyond expectations to provide us with a take-along breakfast when we left very early on our last day. The staff also followed up the automatic wake-up call with a personal call. Breakfasts were ample and very good. The bed was so comfortable. And attractively made. The hotel was located very conviently for walking to the main street and the pier.

We were not left adequate washcloths, glasses and cups for 3 people on our second day and had to request them. Also, hair conditioner needs to be provided. It was a bit noisy one night - perhaps a political rally at the opera house??

Unlike other locations, the staff seemed a little surly, and frankly you pay through the nose for location. The shoebox of a room was approximately the same size as the room at the Thon Stefan, but the price was about 40% higher.

The Thon Hotel is a great place to stay as it situated next to Oslo Central Station & is across the road from the Opera Theatre. It also has great views across the harbour. It is in ewasy walking distance to all the attractions. We would definitely stay here again. The restaurant is undergoing renovation at the moment but this no hinderance to guests as their wonderful buffet breakfast is served in one of their function rooms.

Check in took way too long, the girl at the desk didn't know what she was doing and I had to tell her that she had badly undercharged us. Rooms are a little small.
