Hotel Buddha Land  

staff where helpfull in giving advise about the city and really nice

For our final three nights we were again put in another nearby hotel which was of the same standard but were given breakfast at Bhudda Land. Again the hotel paid for our taxis to and from the airport.

After being picked up from the airport we were told we would be put in a different hotel nearby as they had had a group booking. We were given a pleasant room which was more spacious than those of the Buddha Land so were quite happy and were very well treated. However the staff at Bhudda Land were extremely friendly and even paid for our return taxi to the airport. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for it's staff, quiet but convenient location and value for money.

The rooms in the Buddah Land are small as are the bathrooms, with the shower being over the toilet, but if you accept this there were no negatives.

The manager Mr Bhanu is a great guy,always smiling,willing to help.He has a lots of activities to make you discover the country.A Driver allocated,shuttle from and to the airport.Breakfast included.We were even invited by the manager for dinner. Nepalese people are very nice,they love their country and they make you love it too.We had a great time there,and I highly recommend the hotel.A Great value for the price as well. I'm not easy to give you good review,being a world traveller(airline pilot),but this hotel for people that loves to live in simplicity is a must !

Just minor things not due the hotel.From time to time,electricity shortage,all over the country,but during the shortage,a few lights are available in your room,and this is not much disturbing.Internet a bit slow,but fast enough for basic internet purpose (email,news...)

You are in Thamel - all is around you: shops, food, working ATMs. Power outages are common in all Nepal, so don't blame the hotel. Good and fast wifi - works even if there's no electricity, it's your laptop battery which decides how long you can run it.

Staff was great! They helped us with planning daily trips and made recommendations and even helped us with making phone calls. We ended up doing an over night stay at Nagrakot and Hotel Buddha Land let us keep our luggage in the room which was nice but they even refunded us money for that one night we didn't sleep in the room. They could of easliy charged us. They made our stay in Kathmandu very nice. Very family oriented and very close to the Themal, approx. 1 min walking distance. Hotel provided a hot breakfast, internet, phone calls if we needed to... Even back to the United States at no charge!! If I needed help with needing anything they helped out. I tried to tip the staff members to say thank you but they said... No need... Sobit was great!! Thanks

There was some noise from some kids walking by at night but can't blame the hotel for that. We did loose power alot but I think this is common for most hotels.

My husband and I were very impressed and felt so comfortable the moment we walked out of the airport on our arrival. The hotel staff greeted us with a warm smile and when we were arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by the owner himself and his assistant. Coffee and Tea were served throughout our stay. The rooms were very comfortable with hot showers even though it was basic amenities. Its just a stone throw away to almost everywhere you want to walk around to. I would greatly recommend Hotel Buddha Land and will definitely stay there on our return trip.

Staff were very helpful with everything. Rooms were clean with very good showers. Location is perfect before trekking for buying gear!

Like in nepal, electric cutting out at around 6pm but that is everywhere in nepal!

Bhanu, the hotel manager, was very helpful and the hotel staff was friendly as well. He offered us great value for money offers for a KTM city tour, Mt. Everest flight as well as hotel and city tour to Pokhara. He even exchanged our money of varying currencies at good rates. The location of the hotel is very ideal - right at the center and close to the airport. My friends and I liked our stay at Hotel Buddha Land. We made friends with Bhanu and the rest of the staff, including the tour guide they got for us, Bhuwan. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

WiFi fluctuates quite a bit but this is very minor.

Hotel Buddha Land is in the middle of Thamel area,  quiet at night, with basic but good room, free wifi.  The hot shower is really a hot shower compares to the other hotels or guest houses we stayed in Nepal during the past two weeks. Staffs are very friendly and helpful to organize our tour in Nepal，especially the owner himself is so nice and efficiency to meet our requests.  Great value for the money. Bty, the nepal milk tea of this hotel is super delicious.

The staff was respectful and always willing to go the extra mile with arranging trips and giving good advice on where to go. The breakfast was simple and fresh but all one needs. Rooms were pretty large and the location was in a quiet part of Thamel minutes away from known restaurants and attractions. I highly recommend this hotel, especially for the excellent service provided by the staff!

Hotel staff was very nice and helpful. The location of hotel is right in the middle of Thamel market which provides you access to different shops and restaurants. Overall a good value for money.

Nepal has big problem with power outages. Regular Power comes only for 9-10 hours. Hotel has backup power but streets get dark and markets starts closing by 7 pm.

I liked that the staff were very attentive and offered to pick us up in Kathmandu so we didn't have to worry about searching for the hotel, and they dropped us at the airport before our flight. They were great in helping us organise what we needed to do, and the hot shower was actually hot!

Hotel provided very warm bedding (duvet, blanket) which was much appreciated in cold nights of January. Also showers were great when the power was on

Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Central location. Good and free Internet connection. The heating in the room worked well and very warm shower. They arranged a free ride to the airport.

Nice and quiet location, although in the center of mad Kathmandu. Basic but good room and bathroom. Hot water. Good breakfast

Do not expect anything special.

The location is good. It's located near to the shopping area, but no noisy. Hotel staffs are friendly, very helpful, honest, and reliable. They provided good information, and helped us a lot on arranging the things. The delivery service is good, even they fail to pick us up from the airport when we arrived (because our flight was delayed. I wrote an e-mail to inform about the flight delay, but they said they haven't been informed). However, they finally sent someone to pick us up to the hotel. And they made up by picking us up on time on the other days (we arranged the local tour with the hotel, it's a bit expensive though). Rooms are simple but clean. But the standard rooms do not meet the standard. The bathroom is clean, The hot water is available most of the time. The breakfast is good. I enjoyed the selection of fried eggs, omelette, coffee, black/nelapi tea, juice, toast, butter, and jam. The internet is available at the lobby. Wifi is quite limited in the room. Anyway, I'd say this hotel is one of the best choice in Kathmandu.

Located just couple minutes to central Thamel, but very quiet at night. The rooms very clean and tidy. Hot shower is very excellent compared to the hotels or guesthouse I lived in Pokhara.

Wifi speed is not so good,especially on the upper floor.

Good hotel overall that suited our purpose of the visit perfectly. It is a no-frills, unpretentious yet a quite nice and friendly hotel for travellers on a budget. The staff was extremely helpful and always trying to accommodate all our needs or requests. Beds were very comfortable and despite some stray dogs barking outside at night time (a common thing in Kathmandu by the way) we got a decent sleep. The management also runs a travel agency specialized in trekking trips, climbing expeditions, sightseeing, etc. that will save you the hassle of organizing domestic flights, government permits, insurance and other issues at a competitive prize and employing local people. We were very satisfied with our experience.

Breakfast was a bit basic in my opinion. It was missing something like fresh fruit (easy and cheap to find in Kathmandu) or cereals. We got fried peppers, onions and tomatoes with toasts and tea but not everybody has such a strong stomach in the morning..! Also, we had overbooking problems a couple of nights (alternate days, not in a row) and although we were provided accommodation somewhere else at no extra cost, I thought it was not right. We had our rooms booked and confirmed months in advance and would have preferred to stay at Buddha Land because it is much quieter at night than the other hotels we had to move to.

Brilliant hotel- great team at reception. A++ service and great room. If I go back to Kathmandu I would def stay here.

Excellent ! True Effort from the heart . 5 star quality service in a budget hotel . Mr. Bhanu is like a family friend and he will go to any length to make you feel at home . His hotel staff are the true face of Nepalese hospitality.I Lost my lighter. The counter boy immediately went running and bought me a match box at 10 P.M.And he refused to take the money.The 2 free computers were busy . Mr Vesh, the reception staff immediately gave me his laptop . My friends staying in other hotel came to meet me . They were offered free tea and coffee. They even surfed the internet free of charge . Breakfast is free and good and they even serve it in your room, with a smile . Hot water available 24 hrs .Bathroom slippers are available .Towels and bed linen are clean.Location is very good ,very near to shops , but no noise .I informed them about my arrival time over the phone.They arranged a free airport pick up,on time .They even arranged a city tour for my friends ,at a very nominal charge . One of the guests got into some trouble in some thamel bar .He asked Mr. Bhanu for help . Mr Bhanu sent his reliable hotel receptionist and helped him out .My stay in this hotel was made memorable by the passion and commitment of everyone associated with it .Will come back again .
