wonderful view from the roof top restaurant.
staff at Cosy are very friendly and helpful. Hotel is around the corner from pottery square which is lovely, and the walk to the rest of Bhaktapur is not far either. We found Bhaktapur calmer and less touristy compared to the rest of Kathmandu and would recommend a night's stay here.
Speaking to the locals, this hotel is considered to be slightly on the luxury side of the scale and is priced so.We had unnecessary features such as wall-mounted TV and toothbrush in the washroom. If I were to go there again, I would probably pick a cheaper hotel without the bells and whistles, but if money is not your concern then this hotel is really not bad.
The location was good. Rooms quite spacious. Some staff exceptionally helpful. Free laundry service.
it wasn't really worth 40$ a night. Compared to other hotels we've been through along the journey in Nepal, it could have been better. The continental breakfast wasn't really good, better stick to what they know best: Nepali
Really, really wonderful staff at the reception :). The rooms are really nice and comfortable. The rooftop restaurant is also pretty decent with a nice view. The location in also great, right next to the pottery square (it has to be said though that overall nothing is too far in Bhaktapur and it is rather walkable). Wi-Fi worked pretty well (considering it's Nepal).
Comfortable bed, great location, good service from staff when you can find them/wake them up.
The bathroom is minuscule, like a cupboard, it's very difficult to shower whilst hovering over the loo! The room smelled damp and was tiny. By far the most annoying thing was that they lock the hotel at 9pm and you are not given a key to get in. We told the staff we were going out yo watch the football and would be back late, which they said is fine, just to ring the bell and we would be let in. When we returned at 11pm, we rang the bell many times over the space of 20 minutes but no one came. My partner then climbed in through a first floor window and unlocked the door. We went to the staff room to tell them we were unhappy with this, we knocked on their door, which was ajar, several times but no one awoke. They literally must have been passed out. We complained strongly in the morning and were given a complimentary taxi to Kathmandu which was fine but if you are planning on eating out, or having some drinks past 9pm best not to stay here, particularly if you aren't a climber!
This hotel lives up to it's name, I booked a standard room but it's the off season so was upgraded to a deluxe room. The bed was nice and soft ( important feature after volunteering in a hill village), room was quiet and clean, staff were all friendly and helpful.. I even got a motor bike ride back to the outskirts of Kathmandu as the desk manager was heading that way. The roof top restaurant was good value for one so close to Durbar Square. The main attractions are a 1 to 5 minute walk away..a perfect location right next to pottery square.
They are refitting the third floor rooms at the moment so there is some noise during the day but it's fine at night and they should be finished in August.Go for a first floor room until completed.
great location, clean, nice breakfast, nicely decorated room, facilities inhouse, soft and comfortable bed
The staff were friendly, accomodating, and genuine. I felt like I got to know them without it feeling invasive or overbearing. The accomodations were clean and "cosy", with excellent views and comfortable beds. I found this hotel by recommendation from a friend and will continue to pass on the good word! The Cosy Hotel is worth the price and the perfect place to stay in Bhaktapur!
The black out hours were at less than ideal times. From 8-11 pm i'm usually in my hotel room reading or watching tv!
This place is right in the crowded Bhaktapur old city, to be exact behind pottery square but it's not noisy at night. It's comfortable & clean. Staff also very nice.
It's right on the crowded & noisy Bhaktapur, Pottery Square. Quite in a hidden place but it's also the good side because the place is not too noisy.
What a great hotel, great location, wonderful staff, great food, very clean rooms, quiet and super comfortable beds - just what every traveller desires. In every trip one finds that special place. The Hotel Cosy is worth a visit but be warned, you will want to stay longer,
Convenient location. Comfortable, clean room.
Near the centre
You can find the good hostel in the centre with few money and clean.
The hotel has an old building facade, but in the inside, everything is modern. The hotel provides amazing breakfast. It also provides free of charge hand washing and drinking water, small things that make the deal sweeter. Plenty of interesting sights, including pottery making in the alley next door, wheat trashing at Pottery Square, and other activities around the area
Being in a normal (albeit ancient) residential area means that the noises start real early, like 5 AM. Owing to the shape of the building, the rooms tend to be narrow, with narrow bathroom. It would be better if there was sheer curtain so that we can open the window and the glass window for air but still prevent the people living in the front building from looking into our rooms.
PERFECT, good restaurant.
Very talkative, friendly, helpful and nice staff; excellent location; clean and perfect room with extra details (welcome drink, brush and tooth paste, chocolate cake...). Well, our stay was just perfect.
Best place to stay in Bhaktapur! :-)
The breakfast was excellent and the view from the rooftop was excellent - what a good way to start off the day. The staff were very friendly, the condition of the room was very clean as well.
Most of all I felt at home in this gem of a hotel. Staff did their outmost to make me feel both well, happy and appreciated! I loved the generous breakfasts with nice view at roof top terrace, plus complimentary drinks and "feel good" items in room. On departure day, before my long night flights, I was given a vacant room to change, shower and rest. I'd definitely return to the Cosy Hotel for super friendly hospitality!
The toilet 's poor function. BUT this is due to Nepal's lack of infrastructure.
Staff very friendly, hotel location is very good.Stayed there for three nights, the hotel breakfast is very delicious, will go again next time.
very good price, and very nice room, staff is very kind, and the location is also good, quiet and easy to go everywhere
No,just the Wifi is not very well, but it can be accepted.
Great location, helpful staff, nice top floor cafe/restaurant
The boss is very nice and helpful. So are the staffs.thanks.Food of the restaurant on the top of the hotel is good and not expensive.
A little expensive.
In short: this is one of the best hotels in its price range I have ever stayed at. Impeccably clean, the hotel is perfectly situated and just oozes charm. I know travellers always say this in their hotel reviews, but here it's true: the staff go out of their way to ensure you have a pleasant stay. There's a free welcoming drink and free breakfast as well as a complimentary water bottle, chocolate tart, proper toothbrush and even toothpaste. I have never seen this many perks at a hotel in this price range -- and believe me, I've stayed at a few. I spent the next night in nearby Nagarkot where -- to my horror -- I realised I had my room key from Cosy Hotel still in my pocket. Even that was no problem! I emailed them, and the staff made sure I didn't spend time worrying about it. They even came to me to pick up the key as I was going through Nagarkot on my way to KTM the following day, so I wouldn't have drop by the hotel. I mean, that's the very definition of "above and beyond" -- especially as it was all my fault. But that's not the reason I'm writing such a glowing review; I was going to do it anyway, I'd set my mind on it as soon as I checked out.
