hot shower, good room size, clean with good wifi signal even on the 4th floor. breakfast buffet is good. very friendly staff - would do everything to make your stay as good as possible.
it is expensive, the road to the hotel is a bit dark at night and muddy when it rains.
Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Wifi was excellent and power cuts were short and not a problem. Plenty of hot water. Fantastic location. Will definitely return here.
Loud during the day due to nearby construction (but quiet at night so not a problem).
Staff of this hotel was very kind and friendly, location's excellent. Would recommend to anybody who will stay in Kathmandu.
Quiet and peaceful, yet only a couple of minutes walk from the streets of Thamel. Clean room, comfortable beds, good shower. Staff very attentive, tea and coffee freely available all day.
The hotel staff are incredible. Genuinely there to help and very accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
I had been to two hotels prior in Nepal, and this hotel was far the best. It was close to the action in Thamel, but in an alleyway so you do not get the constant street traffic and beeping. Breakfast had many options.
It would be good if they fixed up the shower area e.g. a floor separator so the water doesn't go all over the bathroom.
quiet really nice staff good breakfast
no hot water my first night, but no problem the next morning
Although in the heart of the Thamel area and down a scruffy backstreet, the hotel was a haven of peace and comfort. Friendly and helpful staff.
the staff were so friendly. i was going on a retreat in the mountains for a few days and staying at a different hotel on my return (if i had have know how nice this place was i would have stayed but i pre-booked) so they lovely staff arranged to have my excess bags sent to the next hotel for my return. they went above and beyond what i expected and they did it with a smile :) we need more people like them
that i didn't book my return stay with them!
- So friendly Staff - Best location in Thamel - 1 minute away of the shopping streets, but very calm - very good breakfast
The best place I've stayed in Nepal. Very nice stuff, they really speak English well, free tea\coffee, no electricity blackouts, hot shower at any time, clean room. Really looks like as a European hotel (for some exceptions ofcourse)
I think the place is a little bit expensive, but it's ok. After all, by Nepal standards it's a super luxury hotel.
Very friendly staff made our stay very enjoyable, perfect location, quiet rooms in Thamel, wifi, nice breakfast
Some rooms have humidity problems which the hotel must fix, but when we complained they changed our room
Staff, Room, Cleanliness and Location.
Nothing negative to say about this hotel. Very happy with our stay.
Loved the spacious room and friendly staff. The hotel is a bit in a backstreet but that makes for some good night rest as well. Also very clean!
Location, prices, staff!
This was a great hotel in a great location. It is 2 blocks away from the Thamel, which was great. It is right by the center of things, but on a quiet side street, so you are not being blasted by noise constantly. Staff was friendly and good (one of them even opened a great restaurant 2 doors down called Fren's Kitchen---be sure to check it out!). By Nepalese standards, this place was 5 stars. Clean western toilets and showers, comfortable beds, clean rooms, beautiful wood and marble floors, toilet paper, soap and shampooo (not the standard thing in Nepal or Kathmandu). The power was consistently on (with only rare blackouts) and the wifi worked well! They are also only a 10 minute walk away from Gorkha International Travel, the fantastic travel agency we used for Treks, Mountain Flights, drivers for the day, and other great activities. Gokul, a manager there, took care of our every need.
There was a 3.75% fee for using credit card, which was not advertised when booking. Otherwise, everything else was fantastic!
A great small hotel in a good location in the thamel. close to everything (including a walk to Durbar square). The highlight of the hotel is the extraordinary staff. All of them are very attentive, friendly and make all efforts to make you feel comfortable. The room we got was specious, clean and comfy. Breakfast is included and is just enough. coffee/tea is available throughout the day and is free of charge. Recently, a restaurant has been opened next door by one of the hotel employees (Fren's kitchen). Great food, great service! we ate there twice. All in all - would recommend to everyone who stay in Kathmandu. Great value for money.
Nothing not to like
Hotel located very centrally in the heart of Thamel and offers a roof top terrace decorated with lots of flowers which often I had for myself. What especially is worth to mention is not just friendliness but also helpfulness of staff. As a guest you really felt welcome in this house.
Noise from building works in the environment which, however, you find often these days in KTM. As the hotel is located in a small side street you have to know where to gind the hotel or you have a knowledgable taxi driver.
Staff was nice and friendly. The room was clean and nice.
Location was OK but not in the center of the thamel and we paid for to much in comparison to what we got.
the location and the friendly and helpful staff. it was clean. close to center.
it was a little bit expensive for what it offers, but comparing with what happens in Kathmandu was really good.
The staff is very nice and helpful. The backup electric supply is excellent as the toilet lamp always on when the normal electric is broken.
The street is under repair. So there is very dusty when going to the hotel. Hope it can finish asap.
We stayed here for four nights in September 2014. Couldn't recommend it more. Friendly honest staff. Rooms are very clean and well equipped and breakfast is good as well. Also, nice to escape from the busy streets on the roof terrace with a beer. One of the guys that works in the hotel opened a restaurant almost next to the hotel. The restaurant is called Fren's Kitchen. We ate there twice and it is honestly the best food we ate in Kathmandu. Great fresh Nepali Thali with Chapati. Prices are below average for Thamel and no additional charges (all other places in Kathmandu add 10% service charge and 13% vat on the prices displayed). Go there!!
The breakfast The attentiveness

If you want to experience the real Nepal, don't go to this hotel. If you want a nice and (very) clean hotel, then book this one. The diners you can have in the hotel are very nice. Very affordable too. Try the tikka butter massala :-)
Even though we got a smaller room then reserved (we were tired and we didnt want to wait multiple hours before we could check in) and stayed for multiple nights, we ended up paying for the (apparently) more expensive room. We realised this only after returning and getting a much (much!) nicer room. The breakfast is okay, but doesn't contain anything Nepalese (like chapati).
good Location comfotable room very friendly and helpful staff gook breakfast very clean room and bathroom wifi is good in the room I had wonderful stay.
