Very polite staff. The location is excellent because it isn't inside the Thamel but it's a 2min walk and in less noisy area. Wifi great all over the hotel.

Mattresses are a little bit hard. Some of the staff don't speak very good English.

The garden, the friendly staff, the comfortable rooms, the books available, the beautiful artwork

I experienced allergic reaction within the hotel for some reason, especially in the bed. Not sure what is was about!

Situated in Chetrapati, a 5 minutes walk to the heart of Thamel (Shopping,Restaurants, Bars...),,15 minutes walk to Durbar Square,,30 minutes walk to the Monkey Temple. Very comfy and peaceful hotel..We shall definitely stay there again:)

-Very friendly staff, -Awesome quote garden in the middle of noisy Kathmandu, - just outside of Thamel, way more relaxing then all the small hotels and hostels in the centre of it. - good wifi for Nepalese standards.

    No complains at all

I've reviewed this place favourably before but as we stayed here 4 times in 5 weeks it deserves another. I highly recommend this hotel of value for money. We've stayed in a lot of places around Nepal including in Thamel, and for the price, Hotel Ganesh is really good. The beds are very comfortable, there is always hot water and decent showers, the rooms are clean and functional and the garden is a really nice place to hang out away from the madness of Kathmandu. They have a decent drinks list and good breakfast. The staff are welcoming and kind. The location is in Thamel but not in the amazingly noisy part and is 10 mins walk to Durbar Sq. What more do you want for less than $25 per night?

The dining service is very slow and the food isn't great (except breakfast which is fine). This isn't a problem though because there are hundreds of other options around the area, so go out and explore!

Stuff very friendly, good breakfast and nice garden. We staid at the suprem room. It was very big and clean, and comfortable. I would go back to this hotel.

The access to the hotel it's in a secondary road without light during night time. It can be a bit scary sometimes.

I liked everything about the hotel; the staff were very friendly, hospitable and helpful, the location is brilliant- very near to tourist centre in a peaceful area. They had everything I needed fast internet facility, restaurant with great variety of food and good quality, lovely well maintained tranquil garden with hammock, balcony, deposit box to store valuables, clean large room, hot water 24hours a day, I can not fault the hotel. I would highly recommend it and when I go back, its the only place I'll stay in!!!

Location, helpful staff, good food in the restaurant, nice big room, comfy bed

The floor in the room was always dirty (better take your slippers)

The hotel staff were very welcoming and the manager was very helpful when we needed to print documents/take passport photos. The garden and all communal areas are the highlight. The garden especially is a relaxing place to chill out away from the madness of Thamel. Breakfast was ok, I wouldn't bother with the sausages though. The room was basic but the bed was comfortable and there was plentiful hot water, plus it was clean.

Bathroom was a bit shoddy, could just do with a few maintenance fixes. Food was hit and miss.

If you're after a quiet place with a great garden area, plenty of pen balconies and a reasonably priced restaurant then this is a gem. It's also situated on the southern outskirts of chaotic Thamel, within a ten minute walk of Durbar Square and maybe a thirty minute walk to Swayanbunath. An excellent spot to go exploring from, highly recommend it.

Nothing really, power cuts maybe but that's just standard fare..charge your phone when you get the opportunity!

Staff were very helpful. The outdoor dining or just sitting was such a pleasure from the noise and confusion of the Thamel area.

Water was not always hot when I needed it!

The service was excellent, friendly staff, quiet location, nice garden for breakfast and a good restaurant.

For internet access (even with my device connected and running) I have to login with username and password, again and again, every 20 or so minutes.

    Nice place and good rooms

They tried to over charge us on the room rate and restaurant service was poor

A quiet place in a very noisy part of the city with a fantastic garden, overall cleanliness (except restroom in the lobby) and great staff. Would return here if I would ever plan to return to Kathmandu... 3 computers with decent internet speed to use free of charge

Washroom in lobby is in a disappointing condition compared to the hotel's standards (it's still acceptable but very different from the other facilities)

Lovely garden and rooftop terrace, only ten mins walk from the centre of Thamel, but a really welcome oasis in the middle of the bustle of Kathmandu. Nice staff, comfy room- we had a standard room, which had all we needed. We will use this hotel as our base in Kathmandu during our travels in future.

The food service can be a little erratic at times.

Excellent location - just a couple of blocks outside of Thamel, so it's quiet and pleasant. Huge veranda on top floor with nice views, and a lovely garden where one can have breakfast. Nice range of breakfasts too (recommend Indian ones - delish!) Very good location for access to the Indra Chowk area, loads of temples, stupas and little Buddhist monasteries within a few blocks, and only 15 minutes walk to Durbar square. Our room on top floor was quiet, very clean and pleasant. Hot shower and good pressure, too! Definitely a favourite.

Reliable wifi. Good, safe location with close walking proximity to CIWEC clinic, Thamel and Durbar Square. Very friendly security guard. Garden area. Reasonably quiet.

Small flies in washroom, maybe related to only enough water supply for 1 toilet flush per day. Typical high priced taxis hanging out in front of property charging 2x or more for typical runs. Bathroom tile grout mould possibly indicating lack of use of anti-mould grade grout.

Pick up from the airport with their own taxi. The hotel was very quite.Very beautiful garden , and a beautiful lobby.3 computers with good internet for free using. Our deluxe double room in a higher floor (!) was very clean, spacious and quite, with a new renovated , nice and clean bathroom . Every day new towels. The beds very comfortable and also clean.Cable TV ok.Only 10 minutes walk from the Thamel . A very gentle security guard at the gate.We could store our suitcases without problems while trekking.

To return to the hotel at night is not so comfortable and even frighten because the hotel is situated in a dark sidestreet. The Wifi is every 5 minutes disconnecting, when not in use. No lamps near the beds, not enough light to read in the bed. Taxi from the hotel overpriced.
