The staff was excellent in helping me to organize my trip, the garden is beautiful, the value for money is perfect
Very friendly and helpful staff The distance from Thamel is exactly perfect. Lovely roof terrace and garden Endless hot water
Toilet without properly flushing
Very helpful staff
Staff very friendly and helpful
Great garden, especially as the hotel is so near Thamel + Durbar Square - it was nice to come back to. Food was good + breakfast excellent. Also liked the different terraces at each level.
The room was spacious; very helpful staff; splendid location: quiet during the night, and only a 10 minutes walk from Thamel; great breakfast; good airco and heating system. (Hans & Alain from Belgium)
No negative remarks, just remember to orientate yourself really well when walking back from Thamel: we got lost the first evening; but afterwards it was not that difficult; street lighting is very faint.
Beautiful garden for breakfast and relax.
The room facilities are not satisfied compared with the price.
I stayed at the Hotel Ganesh Himal in Oct for 4 nights. To be fair the hotel itself is perfect, my super deluxe room was HUGE, gorgeous comfy bed, great WIFI and very clean. It rained heavily for a straight for 36 hours when I was in Kathmandu so the hotel was a perfect place to stay inside, eat a great dinner and watch the movie channels! The hotel is a little off the beaten track, great for peace and quiet but as a female solo traveller I did opt for a taxi back after sun down.
My trip itinerary changed meaning I was arriving 2 days later than first booked. I emailed the hotel 4 times and phoned twice in advance, but on arrival there was no evidence that my request had been received...annoying! Thankfully they had a room so all was fine but very frustrating. While in reception one day I witnessed a couple having the same issue but they were less successful. To be fair though the hotel organise similar alternative accommodation. It's a bit of a manic reception experience, where they are trying to accommodate everyone but my advice, don't email the hotel directly if you're expecting a reply!!
The friendly and helpful staffs, the location - it is 5mins walk from Durbar Square, and 5mins walk from Thamel, the wifi - but its a bit weak on the rooftop, the free internet and computer use at the lobby, the water dispenser at the lobby.
The occassional electricity cut-off.
Loved Ganesh Himal hotel. Very friendly, hospitable and welcoming staff, clean rooms, good wifi and delicious food. The rooftop is the perfect place to watch the sun rise over Kathmandu. Loved it!
Clean, kind and helpful staffs, comfortable room, beautiful garden and some lovely cats in garden, I sleep quite well in this hotel and really enjoy its quiteness.
The location is a bit far from central Thamel, and the street is very dark at night. Better to go back to hotel before 9pm.
Friendly place, very clean, comfortable, between Thamel and Durbar Square. Nice garden!
Well, not much to say, the Wifi isn't that fast, but still good. It works even during the electricity shutdown
1. Friendly staff 2. Quiet 3. Cozy 4. Clean 5. Good Wi-fi 6. Beautiful garden 7. Serves good food 8. Value for money Highly recommended!
The only thing is the road leading there is quite scary to walk alone at night. If you're lucky, there will be some dim street lights. But most of the time, no light at all. If you want a quiet place to stay, you couldn't expect more. Otherwise, you can opt for other place near the busy, noisy & dusty main road that is more expensive. Other than that, all is fine.
The location.the garden
Only could water?
Very polite staff. The location is excellent because it isn't inside the Thamel but it's a 2min walk and in less noisy area. Wifi great all over the hotel.
Mattresses are a little bit hard. Some of the staff don't speak very good English.
The garden, the friendly staff, the comfortable rooms, the books available, the beautiful artwork
I experienced allergic reaction within the hotel for some reason, especially in the bed. Not sure what is was about!
Situated in Chetrapati, a 5 minutes walk to the heart of Thamel (Shopping,Restaurants, Bars...),,15 minutes walk to Durbar Square,,30 minutes walk to the Monkey Temple. Very comfy and peaceful hotel..We shall definitely stay there again:)
Very pleasant hotel, well situated (between Thamel and Durbar Square). BIg, clean rooms, nice restaurant with reasonable prices, beautiful garden. Very helpful staff! I truly recommend this hotel!! :)
Everything was great! :)
-Very friendly staff, -Awesome quote garden in the middle of noisy Kathmandu, - just outside of Thamel, way more relaxing then all the small hotels and hostels in the centre of it. - good wifi for Nepalese standards.
No complains at all
the outside space....on all floors and also the garden.
I've reviewed this place favourably before but as we stayed here 4 times in 5 weeks it deserves another. I highly recommend this hotel of value for money. We've stayed in a lot of places around Nepal including in Thamel, and for the price, Hotel Ganesh is really good. The beds are very comfortable, there is always hot water and decent showers, the rooms are clean and functional and the garden is a really nice place to hang out away from the madness of Kathmandu. They have a decent drinks list and good breakfast. The staff are welcoming and kind. The location is in Thamel but not in the amazingly noisy part and is 10 mins walk to Durbar Sq. What more do you want for less than $25 per night?
The dining service is very slow and the food isn't great (except breakfast which is fine). This isn't a problem though because there are hundreds of other options around the area, so go out and explore!
Stuff very friendly, good breakfast and nice garden. We staid at the suprem room. It was very big and clean, and comfortable. I would go back to this hotel.
The access to the hotel it's in a secondary road without light during night time. It can be a bit scary sometimes.
I liked everything about the hotel; the staff were very friendly, hospitable and helpful, the location is brilliant- very near to tourist centre in a peaceful area. They had everything I needed fast internet facility, restaurant with great variety of food and good quality, lovely well maintained tranquil garden with hammock, balcony, deposit box to store valuables, clean large room, hot water 24hours a day, I can not fault the hotel. I would highly recommend it and when I go back, its the only place I'll stay in!!!
Breakfast is delicious.
Location, helpful staff, good food in the restaurant, nice big room, comfy bed
The floor in the room was always dirty (better take your slippers)
