Food was excellent probably the best food you will get in nepel and the massage was great after going forest hicking

Clean air. Great area. Trees, a magical forest. Deer, butterflies, monkeys and birds. Beautiful, quiet, calm. Wonderful atmosphere of nature. Big comfort room. Good personal.

Tasteless food. Open throughout the food (buffet) and fruit fly sit (take care of the stomach). Saw a cockroach in the bathroom. The room is no plan, and information on the hotel restaurant (and time). Very bad transfer. Booked car at 7 am. Able to leave a 7:40, a latecomer to registration. In one car to start more groups. It was very cramped and uncomfortable.

It was a very good experiance. I would recomend this Hotel to all who want to visit Kathmandu. Kindly pamper your self in the spa A MUST VISIT. The location of the Hotel is a bit far but the Hotel is too good. The staff, the food, the rooms all too good.The breakfast which u can enjoy outdoor.It is must saty. I am going back for a longer time and this time with my Kids.

The pool was not Temperatured control . They should give free internet as this is not a Business hotel.

The Staff was very Friendly and very Helpful. We only had contact with the Staff at the Concierge, Front Desk and the Waitress in the Restaurants. We have only GOOD Words to say about all of them. The hotel is also very nice and you feel very relaxed when spending time there. Thanks for a nice stay Martin & Fiona

Just two things - The Location. It was a little bit remote and the Road to the Hotel from the City and Airport was not that Good. If they improve the Road from the Airport and City, then the Location is very Good. A little bit outside but you can feel the Fresh Air. Breakfast - Maybe they can have more variety and not the same everyday. I also missed my Capuchino Coffee they could not make - Just a suggestion.

We stayed for 3 nights in a superior room which was enormous in size. It was also fitted out to a good standard. The property grounds are really great and children-friendly. It is located in the middle of a forest on a hilltop, so you feel sheltered from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. The spa was ok, but ask for a treatment room upstairs to avoid being disturbed by sounds coming from the pool on the ground floor. We chose this hotel because we wanted to stay near Kathmandu but away from the city. Overall this was a good choice and we enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

Food was mediocre to poor, especially at the Thai/Chinese joint at the golf course. The Nepalese food at the main restaurant was disappointing, when compared to the food at any eatery in the city.

Very good service, good location outside the bustel of Kathmandu. The massages at the spa were wonderful.

Gokarna Resort is an ideal hotel for those who are looking for peace and tranquil Ity from the city's hustle and bustle life. The hotel staffs were extremely friendly and they made us feel at home throught our stay in the property. As it was raining during our stay it was rather difficult to fully explore going around the hotel, the birds chirpling sounds and the voice of cricket during the rain made us feel very nostalgic. Hotel has two in house restaurants, however, we only experienced one. For the Golfers, Gokarna is an ideal hotel as it has a magnificent Golf facilities. The resort has a private forest and the guests can explore jungle walks but beware of leech bites and do not forget to cover your legs with boots or similar. Overall we would highly recommend the hotel.

The hotel is very expensive..Owing to the distance to the main Kathmandu city and due to the difficulty in getting public taxis from the hotel the room rates need to be reduced slightly. The hotel has 2 cars and although the drivers are extremely friendly the car rental rates from the hotel is rather pricy. The total costs for staying 4 nights costed us over 700 us dollars which is slightly high compared to the country's standards.

We have just returned from a great stay at the Gokarna resort. Me, my wife and two Girl children aged 17and 6 have just spent 1 week. The hotel is about a 20 min drive from Katmandu airport. Upon arrival we were checked in swiftly at reception and then greeted by one of the guest relation team The hotel has an impressive entrance and has a pleasant decor, very modern and clean. Chart-tie then accompanied us to our room and went through the details of the hotel. Once at our room we were presented with a very impressive room. The room had a safe and a mini bar with soft drinks, milk, water and beer which was restocked daily. The decor of the room was also nice and modern. The property of the hotel is quite big. It has a main pool, and little pools dotted around the place. You will probably spend most of your time at the Hotel It has two main restaurants, bars where you can get drinks. The morning complementary buffet breakfast are of high standard with plenty of variety They served branded drinks at the bars and cocktails made from the branded drinks also, so the standard of AI was high and a pleasant surprise. They also had a great gym and yoga which had free weights and also machines so this again was great for anyone who like to workout, use of the gym was free. As stated above the standard of the hotel, rooms, grounds, food, facilities, cleanliness, drinks, are of a very high standard. But we had a truly experience the service has to be great and this is where the hotel let it self down. We are not the most demanding guests and i am some who likes to do thing himself so i'm easy to please. To start with the staff speak great English, we were told that the hotel had guest mostely from west ,Chiense and Indians. So we can understand this but we did not expect higher standard of English speaking staff. We bumped into English people who commented on how nice it was to hear the English lang.

It is excellent, little bit far from the town but this is give some quite and privacy you will feel relaxing with fresh air.

everything was so amazing! a sort of a "retreat" place in the middle of a noisy busy city!

The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It's a very nice and relaxing place to stay. I still smell the lovely jasmine tree that was growing in the nice garden! The kids were so happy to be outside discovering and enjoying the beautiful surroundings.

The resort is located outside the city in a peaceful forest reserve with golf course. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, trying to give each guest individual attention, noting likes and dislikes, especially at breakfast, which was inclusive for our package. The hotel has a tranquil garden and courtyards, an indoor pool, modest business centre and in-house boutiques and travel desk. There is also an ATM which is useful in obtaining NRs, although the hotel likes to charge for services in US$s which is contentious. The golf club restaurant has a good menu of Thai, Chinese and Tibetan dishes, cooked to order, although service can be slow. The hotel's Dubar restaurant offers buffet breakfast and supper with a la carte, if desired. The bar is well-stocked with local and international beers, wines and spirits. Importantly, the hotel has electric geberator backup to compensate for the frequent load-shedding.

When we arrived the hotel was far from full but as it became busier towards Easter weekend, the pace told on staff with service slowing down to an irritating level, although efforts were made to deal with the demands of guests. The biggest moan i have is the exorbitant fee of $12 for the airport shuttle - even if we were sharing. The internet costs at $20 dollars for 24 hours is steep but you can save hours by logging off. Thankfully, there is free WiFi in the bar. Food can be variable, e.g. fish and chips with fish out of a frozen packet and overcooked. However, I am delighted to note that a gentle complaint meant that I was not charged for it. The in-house travel desk is a rip-off for anything other than a standard trip - and has to be paid in US$ and an addtional cost for NRs or credit card charge a stinging 5%. The first tour we had around the three ancient cities was excellent at $80 but we cancelled a simple trip to Nagarcot charged at $240 and hired a taxi instead for a fraction of the cost.

We enjoyed one of the forest walks. Not so much the forest, but being taken through the local village to see how life is there. Seeing the local children run up the hill towards us with happy, smiling faces was one of the highlights of the holiday.

Beware of the travel desk. The are not completely part of the hotel and the quality of vehicle we received for a day tour was shocking. A real death trap. However, we did raise a formal complaint and were refunded the full cost of the excursion.

Das Gokarna Forest Resort liegt außerhalb von Kathmandu und bietet eine gute Rückzugsmöglichkeit von der Hektik der Stadt. Das Hotel und die Anlage sind sehr gepflegt, das Personal ist außerordentlich freundlich und die Küche zu empfehlen. Kurzum: Es ist ein Hotel der gehobenen Klasse mit all den gewünschten Vorzügen. Wir werden bei unserem nächsten Aufenthalt in Kathmandu wieder im Gokarna Forest Resort übernachten.

Wir haben es bedauert, dass man die Wanderungen in der Umgebung nicht ohne Führer unternehmen darf.

De ontvangst door Nirmaya (Guest Relation Officer) was erg vriendelijk en professioneel. De kamer was prima in orde. Het restaurant serveerde een uitstekend (lokaal/internationaal) buffet, met heel attent personeel. Het golfterrein is erg goed onderhouden.
