Score from 29 reviews Very good
Visually attractive, spotlessly clean, spacious, near shops and restaurants, virtually next door to the famous Boudha Stupa, serene atmosphere, and staff very friendly. A pure delight in most respects. Best guesthouse I have found in its price range.
The complementary breakfast was a little lean, but typical. The bed was too firm for my taste, but typical for Nepal.
The location was great. It's on a street behind the stupa but I quite liked that it wasn't directly overlooking it. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants which over look the stupa. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Very clean and quiet place to relax in.
My booking said there was complementary toiletries but there wasn't even soap. I'd only come for one night and left my rucksack in thamel. Luckily I had brought my toiletries with me! Also I asked if I could exchange my book at the library but this is only a library so you can only read the books whilst you are there. Not sure how useful this is unless you are staying for a while whereas book exchanges are really useful.
We arrived late at night and we're sooo hungry, the gentleman on the front desk made us toast and eggs. Such a warm welcome! Room was simple and clean. Staff were genuine and helpful.
The sweetest staff in the world...spiritual...a wonderful Kathmandu enclave location with famous Buddhist stupa/monastery...peace in the air. The hotel wafts with incense...loved it.
I love the big room and helpful staff. Would be more lovely if we get the room at the other Happiness Guest House which is located right across the Boudhanath Stupa.
- Very good location - Helpful staff - and nice view from the rooftop room ตั้งอยู่ในทำเลที่ดีมาก (สาขาที่อยู่ติด Boudhanath) โดยเฉพาะห้องบนสุด วิว สุดยอดจริง ๆ ครับ เจ้าของโรงแรมดีมาก
Roof Top Room too small compare with room rate. ห้องเล็กไปหน่อย ไม่มีพัดลม และ เครื่องปรับอากาศให้
The staff are lovely. They are very friendly and always willing to help. I liked them so much, I am going back! I can only say thank you for the hospitality and kindness.
They could have a little more fruit for breakfast ... :)
I loved the quiet helpfulness of the staff, and the lovely 'friendship' shawl I was given when I left - such a simple gesture but really touching. The room was clean, comfortable and pleasant, and all services were provided as needed. Location was great for those wanting to spend time at Boudhanath Stupa. I would happily go back and stay there again.
The staff were so damn nice!!! But the service is shocking !!
Booking was not guaranteed at all! room was booked by somebody else for longer than us!! so they gave our room away!!! Really good of them!!!
I stayed in quite a few hotels in Nepal whilst there for both work and leisure and became familiar with basic, unless prepared to pay $100 plus per night. This hotel was almost as good as the expensive ones, but for only $20! Only real difference was no TV in the room and no continuous supply of electricity. This wasn't a problem though as the staff were more than happy to turn the generator on if needed. The staff were really helpful, it's situated in a great location, steps away from the bhouda and everything was really clean and tidy. I had no complaints at all. It is worth mentioning that this hotel, whilst fairly close to the airport, is a couple of miles out of Kathmandu centre (not that you would notice!) so getting a taxi to places like Thamel is necessary (though cheap ) and can take up to half an hour or more to get through the traffic. I thought it was a great location though, loads of shops, bars and restaurants right on the doorstep.
It's tucked down a small side street of the Bhouda so quite hard to find unless your taxi driver knows exactly where it is. I suggest asking then to call the hotel for directions if they don't to avoid doing loops in the busy traffic!
My room was like a prison cell in a cold cave, he was very cold and dark, hot water did not exist. Outside the window I saw the wall of another building. Vayfay in the room did not work. Price for such services is very high. In Kathmandu, many hotels are much cheaper, many offer a discount. I changed the hotel on the first day.
I love the location of the Guest House. Acctually there are two buildings, the one from booking.com is cheaper but it is on the back of Boudha temple. After one night we moved about 400 meters to the second one to have better view. Staff is exellent in both locations, rooms are clean and nice. WiFi is available even when there is no electricity in the whole town.
We were travelling in January when was quite cold. There were no heating and because of lack of electricity usually we didnt had hot water.
Very quiet surrounding, no traffic, spacious grounds, very nice staff - sometimes their English is not enough. Breakfast is included but consits of banana, boiled egg, toast and jam. Funny combination.
Room prices are higher when you book with booking.com, no single rooms available, no reduction. The hotel itself is situated in a very quiet surrounding but inside it is very loud, you can hear everything, especially the people next door (shower, other noise).
The staff are very helpful indeed.
The room did not have an a/c as was promised in the booking page.
Very friendly staff, good location, spacious room. From our room on the roof of the guesthouse we had a great view over Bouddha. Walking distance from the Stupa and good choice of restaurants. All in all good value for money.
Breakfast is very basic, we had to ask for clean towels, toiletpaper etc. No cleaning during our 8-day stay.
The owner and staff go out of there way to help you and guide you to get the most out of your vacation !they also good at helping to set up all travel.very very honest people!!!!!
