Dana (and the rest of the staff) were very friendly and helpful. Location was in the heart of Thamel shopping district - lively and enchanting area! All the basics were met for a very affordable price!
Good location Cheap Nice staff
street side rooms too noisy
Staff was very kind and location was good.service is suppers, heart of the thame ,I am really happy with that guest house and I strongly recummend...see you next times
The hotel was really nice and the most noticeable things is that the service provided by the staffs. The owner was really outstanding. The hotel with clean rooms and attractive design made me feel more to stay in this place. Thank you khangsar family
First of all, the rooftop is incredible. Clean and full of flowers, with great views all around: perfect for enjoying a morning read, afternoon snack, or evening drink. The beds are super comfy, the staff is great, and love the location. Will definitely be coming back!
The hotel is centrally located in the heart of Thamel sorrounding with nice restaurents and coffee shop nearby.Enyoyed my stay and will recommend my friends to stay here when they travel to kathmandu.
I like Khangsar Guest House location, Facility , Room Tariff and services.
Need service boy for every floor.
Everything, staff and manager very friendly and helpfull. Excelent location in Thamel, close to the most important places and good restaurants around. Manager and staff very helpfull in help me planning some travels around the city.
I always enjoy staying at Khangsar Guest House. The owner Raj and all the staff are nice and helpfull . You feel very comfortable and safe. It is quiet and still central. I Can warmely recommend Khangsar Guest House
I always stay at Khangsar of course because it is a nice place to stay, all the staff are so helpfull and kind and Raj the owner is an amazing leader of Khangsar he is always there for you and he value all the staff equally, which tells a lot about his personality. Khangsar is a very quiet place to stay although it is in the middle of everything. You feel safe and easy. I can highly recommend Khangsar Guest House
I cannot find anything I didnt like
A nice hot shower and meeting with the amicable staff. The room was cozy - it's a simple budget place and one of the most pleasant of its kind in the Thamel area.
Kathmandu is hot and dusty. So it was can use the hot shower I was glad. It is a bustling noisily buzz-buzz because it is downtown, but it is quiet in the night at around 11. Because tired, nor afford to care about such a thing. The staff is very kind.
A building and the facilities are old. You must not compare it with the first-rate hotel of the developed country. However, the staff is kind and you can use the hot shower. What is more necessary than it in this hot and dusty town? I think that it is enough if it is at this price.
Located in Thamel means you can walk out the front of the guesthouse and begin purchasing items needed for trekking. Staff very Helpful. Raj can set up anything you need.
Very old, and not the cleanest place.
The guest house is OK, nothing fancy, nothing new, but a clean correct place to stay. Room was clean correct. I'd recommend it.
It's just my personal experience, and it's just one particular thing with the staff, but it was so bitter that it made me feel really bad. Upon arrival, we wanted to go to Patan, and before heading to the streets to hire a taxi, I asked at reception for ADVICE on how much would be a fair taxi price to get there. Amazingly (I have NEVER in my life seen this), he took advantage of us and said that he could arrange that himself (I insisted it was not necessary, I just wanted advice, but I trusted him at the end), so he called a friend and told me the price would be 650-700 rupees (one way), and I could pay that at the end of my stay. We enjoyed our time in Patan and on the way back I asked, for curiosity, to another taxi driver. And then another. And another. I asked around 10 taxi drivers and other people in shops and restaurants. They told me the price from Thamel to Patan is between 300 and 400 rupees. Many answered 300 straight. One of them told me that maximum, 500. Since I was not requested to pay until the end, I did so, and discussed the issue "privately" with the staff guy (away from the manager). The guy understood and didn't want trouble, so he accepted 350. But this is booking.com and I can't keep that private. Such an experience has to be shared and the manager should never allow that. When you ask hotel staff for advice, you expect that they will HELP you, not take advantage of you. It was simply amazing.
Location was good - in the middle of Thamel but in a quiet street. Room was quite clean. Staff was friendly.
When we arrived we had to wait about two hours before our room was ready, because they forgot about us twice. And then they wanted to give us a room that we couldn't lock and they were unhappy when we wanted to change to the room next doors... Besides that though, the staff was friendly. They have a roof top but don't really do anything with it, which is a pity I think. The water smelled horrible. At first I thought it was the case in the whole city, but in other places it wasn't that bad.
Perfectly located Friendly professional staff Immaculate accomodation Helped us organize our trek and linked us up with a great trek guide - we were flying out the day we checked out and I dident have enough money in my wallet to pay for the room, to save me going to the ATM Raj (the owner) smiled and said that what I had was enough. This underlines the commitment to their guests and friendly nature at Khangsar hotel. For me there is no reason to stay at another hotel in Kathmandu. I have been travelling for 6 months through many countries and this is the top of my list out of all the places I have stayed.
Airport pickup, great location, free Wifi, hot shower, and excellent customer service...Highly recommend!!!
Free WiFi, very helpful staff, free luggage storage, travel and tourism advice etc
Creepers who work there
location, helpful staff price
Small rooms, no hangers to hang clothes in the bathroom.
Location is great. There is a restaurant named Mitho which is near to the guest house serves great nepali food. Hot water runs well.
- Pros: good location in a quite area of Thamel, the staff is helpful; clean for the standard of a guest house in Kathmandu; good value for money, though for some extra few bucks you can have better.
- expect the hot water to be actually kind of cold (especially if you go off-season, when during the evenings it can be around 7 degrees Celsius, you might enjoy a warmer water); otherwise it was fun to be there.
