It was my second clean room since i am travelling in nepal, and that for a very cheap price. you are very central and close to everything you need in Kathmandu. And it is a little bit outside of the tourist place Thamel ( around 2/3 minutes ). i would recommend it to my sister :) the stuff speaks english and they help wherever&whenever they can.

The water was not hot but it was ok to shower.... it was not a cold shower...

The Langsisha guest house is one of the best options in thamel, in quality/price relation. Its a nice quiet place, with lovely staff, which make as much as they can to make you feel at home, and it even cheap. Being 2 min walk south of chettrapati, its far from the noise of the nightclubs situated in thamel, and at the same time its next to it. Its a really good option for a short, or middle staying time.

    First day staff were helpful.

staff were helpful on the offset but try to leave to catch an early bus to pokhara, although I made sure I'd paid the night before for an easy exit, I had to wake the sleeping man on the couch, with quite some force, only to be greeted with nothing more than a grunt. He wouldn't open the roller door without making a few fruitless phone calls all the while, not saying a word to me, I'm trying to get out to catch my bus, he eventually relented and let me 'escape'. The room on the 3rd floor had a cockroach infestation and I was awoken with 2 on my bed. The toilet was clearly not cleaned in the last year, and the previous occupants usage was still there. I dare not shower. Worst experience in Nepal. I don't understand the rating it got on booking.com, which was my reason for choosing this place.

The staff is very friendly, helpfull and efficient ! They take care of you all the time. The manager, Dipin, gave us a lot of information about Kathmandu, where to go, what to do and how much to pay for things. They arranged very easily our trekking, we got an excellent guide and the manager was calling him very often to check that everything was ok. It was a pleasure to come to the guesthouse and to be wellcomed like a good friend. The guesthouse is very central and close to the main roads of Thamel, but its quiet and has a view on a field. There is a nice terrace on the second floor and a good restaurant in the backyard. We will never forget the time we spent in this guesthouse and the treatment we received, we are certainly looking forward to come to this place again!

friendly and really helpfull staff, especially the manager Dipan. They will help you with every request, always smiling. The position is perfect to visit Kathmandu, right in Thamel area, half way through Durbar Square and other temples. Good and cheap restaurant as well, quite rooms over the patio and nice view from the balcony.

If you complain about power shartage, smell coming sometimes from the bathroom or because it gets some minutes the get hot water then ask yourself why are you in Nepal, you might still be able to change your mind and go somewhere else. Sorry for you, you'll miss one of the best experiences in your life.

The staff is very friendly and helpfull! I have got a lot of informations about Kathmandu, where to go, how to do and how much to pay. They arranged very easily some bookings for me and it was a pleasure to come home in the evening and to be wellcomed like a good friend. I could come with all my questions and wishes and share my adventures in Kathmandu with them. The guesthouse is very central and close to the main roads of Thamel, but its backside is quiet with a view on a field. There is a nice terrace on the second floor and a good restaurant in the backyard. I am looking forward to come to this place again!

Nice basic rooms, a restaurant in the downstairs, really helpful and welcoming staff. The chief Deepen knows everything about the attractions in Kathmandu and Nepal, and might even join you and show you museums, nightlife etc., super! Located next to Thamel, but the place is still peaceful.

Sometimes problems with cleanliness and WiFi is quite bad. With Nepal standards it's ok.

One of the most comfortable places to stay when in Kathmandu. Very cozy and spacious rooms and the staff is hospitable. The service is excellent and I enjoyed my stay here. They have trekking and guide facilities too on request.

The personel was very nice, helpful and friendly, especially Dipen (I hope I got the right spelling) and Rabin. They were as nice as to keep our extra luggage in during our trek (24 days) free of charge, the room was very big and clean, we were being offered a bottle of water every evening. They are rather flexible with the booking period: the first period of our stay was one day shorter than what we had booked and we didn't get any complaint about that (since then we booked a few extra days for the end of our trip).

The bathroom was a bit rusty, but I think that was about the best you can get in Kathmandu, unless you take some fancy 5-stars hotel...

Good cheap hotel between Thamel and Durbar Square. (Note it is on the 'main' road between Chetrapati Chowk and Durbar square - disregarding what is shown in booking.com map.) It is not more than 5 minutes walking to Durbar Square and this allows you to vist the Square early in the morning before they charge unbelievable 750 Rs (we did 5:30 to 7 AM - ticket booths were still closed). All rooms come with bahtroom with hot water (just let the water running 5 mins at it will really become hot - anytime a day). Double and twin (and maybe soem triple) rooms are in three floors around patio with restaurant. In second floor there is another nice terrace. View to the nearby school field with people practising Yoga early in the morning. Rooms are spacious though bit dark. Bathroom is little worn out, but clean. Day-time receptionists speak some english. Restaurant is cheap and good with plenty of Nevar and Nepal specials. Luggage can be stored in hotel during your trekking and it is free. Definitely recommendable not only for backpackers but for any one who needs few nights before and after the trekking and do not need five-star hotel.

When the elecricity is off (around 4 hours a day, anytime, usually in day time and sometimes evening), there is only one small light in the room, no light in bathroom and the fan is off. No A/C. Early morning leaving from hotel requires waking up the receptionist who sleeps 'somewhere' - use some loud noice.
