Staff were very helpful and reliable. We made a tour through Kewal and he was very honest about everything in the itinerary. It was a smooth trip for young travellers like us.
Can't really blame it on Pariwar but Nepal does not have 24/7 electricity so we had some cold showers :/
The staff was kind and helpful, they gave us good support at trekking organisation. The hotel has nice and quiet terrace. Although the hotel is situated in the centre of Thamel, the room we had was very quiet.
Tap water was brawny and had smell of iron.
It has nice staff and a great location. Laundry service from the hotel costs 50 rupees for 1kg. Wifi worked pretty well.
I have been in hotels throughout India, Mexico, Guatemala, Nepal, etc. But I have never seen such disgusting water in my life! The water is so rusty, it's actually orange. I am surprised that the hotel had such positive reviews given this issue. We moved to the Hotel Amaryllis for the same price, and it's way better!
The sheets, towels were stained and the blankets looked as if they hadnt been washed for years. The common bathroom was really dirty, especially the sink.
they dont clean the room unless you ask for
An excellent little find in Thamel. Was in Kathmandu several times during our time in Nepal and always came back to Pariwar. A homely laid back athmosphere, great location, nice rooms and roof terrace. The staff are excellent and treated us like old friends. Highly recommended.
Pariwar, located in the heart of Thamel, was my favourite place we stayed in 2 months in Nepal. Offers a peaceful sunny balcony - where Ram and the team cooked us a barbecue for our last night in Kathmandu. Also Kewal was very helpful in organising our trek/flights.
Would like to have stayed longer
The staff were really friendly and helpful, they arranged free transport to the airport when they didn't have to! The rooms were spacious and definitely a cut above other hotels in the area. The bed was the most comfortable bed I slept in throughout my whole trip in Nepal! Would definitely stay here again!
The bathroom could do with a bit a clean...
My fiancé and I stayed here for a couple of days at the end of October, and absolutely adored Pariwar B&B! It is conveniently located in the middle of Thamel, right around the corner from a convenience store. There is a great terrace where you can have breakfast and enjoy a view of the mountains in the distance. The staff are wonderful- always polite, courteous and helpful. We booked a 16 day hike with their tourism company which was quite cheap compared to what I've seen online. Also Kiwar (the tourism coordinator) was super honest, knowledgable and helpful. I definitely recommend you stay here, I couldn't fault the place!
very good location! 2 mins to supermarket and purples haza bar.also have after party with the boss and the stuff, drink and have a lot of fun！
We stayed at the Pariwar B&B both before and after our trek. The owner Kewal was very helpful in planning our time in Kathmandu and arranging all transportation. The staff was great, always accomodating and helpful. Perfect location right in the heart of Thamel with lots of shops and restaurants nearby.
Rooms near street were louder but we were able to sleep ok.
comfortable beds clean rooms coffee machine (dripper, deluxe room) reasonable price strategic location Mini Fridge (deluxe room) Hot shower Air Cond (deluxe room) Reliable Wifi (All rooms) Friendly Staff Helpful Staff
noisy (budget room) rusty smell water
They provide airport pickup which is very convenient, especially after a long flight. All the staff are friendly and helpful, if you have any questions or need advise they are more willing to help you. The room was clean and tidy, there was a cupboard, desk, comfortable bed, TV, fan and en-suite bathroom with hot water and shower. I got sick whilst staying in Kathmandu and needed to visit the hospital, they arranged for me to go immediately and stayed with me until everything was sorted out. I then stayed for 2 nights in hospital and was even visited by staff while I was there. By the end of it Pariwar felt like home as they were all so hospitable and went above and beyond to ensure everything went well. I will definitely be staying here again if I come back to Nepal.
Like other reviewers have mentioned, there can be a little noise on the street outside, but that's hard to avoid in Thamel and it didn't affect my sleep.
Staff is excellent
The sheet can be more clean
Friendly and helpful staff. Willing to help book any tours or activities that we wanted. They upgraded our room to a larger and quieter one on arrival since they had availability. The room was very comfortable and overall fairly clean. The A/C worked perfectly well. Price is very good but may not be worth saving a few dollars.
Throughout our entire three days there the water in the sink and bath was orange-brown in color and smelled very mineral-ly so we did not feel clean after washing. We did not experience this kind of water anywhere else in Nepal. including other hotels in Kathmandu! There were multiple baby cockroaches in the bathroom at night- which may be not be so uncommon in kathmandu.
shopping areas food rooms staff manager cold beer wifi terrace Upon my arrival in Kathmandu and the resulting 1030 pm chaotic visa process there, I was met by a young man with a large sign with my name on it...So nice to see as the flight, visa queues and baggage retrieval mess had frazzled my last nerve. The hotel was about 35 minutes by car from KTM airport and upon arrival in Thamel I was awed by being literally in the shopping epicenter. Up a few flights of stairs (no lift) and I was met by Ram personally. He went thru the trip options once again and as planned, all went well. Ram has a company called Pariwar Holidays and is able to meet all needs and areas of interest. The rooftop terrace was so nice to relax on, the roof dining room was pleasant as well. I had the chance to cook a meal with the chef and shared it with some backpacker friends I had made there. It was so great to cook a meal and enjoy fellowship. Pricing was reasonable for lunch and dinner and the breakfast was adequate. Some of the menu selections were not available but what was there was prepared fresh for every meal. Some planning with Ram and lunch and dinner choices were gathered and waiting upon my arrival back from shopping/ tours. The beer was cold, the food was good, the company was great! My room was a Deluxe, nice and spacious. The bed was just about right for a blend between soft and firm. The bathroom was very basic but managable and the hot water was very nice. There was a TV, fan, mini fridge, armoire, 2 chairs and a table making it a nice area to relax in. The rolling scheduled blackouts commom thru Kathmandu were made manageable by the hotel generator. The bathroom and sink area lights worked on the generator, making it easy to move around and get dressed during a blackout. Ram has plenty of outlets in areas of the hotel to power your electronics during the blackouts, a very nice feature.
I had to leave, that was the worst part. Agree with others, street overlooking rooms are a bit noise but it is a very vibrant place. I did not come here to meditate, I came to enjoy life so no problems for me
good position in the middle of Thamel
dirty bathroom and bed sheet. Bad smell of the water. the guy of the turist operator inside the B&B tried to convince us that the only safety way to visit nepal was with his car.
All Pariwar employees assisted in any way possible and did so with a happy, genuine disposition. The food was excellent, wifi very reliable. A very good place to stay for a single female. Cost effective as well!
The bathroom could have done with a little more cleaning but it wasn't something that bothered me terribly. Nothing is perfect! Thank you for making my stay what it was.
Wifi in all rooms Staff exceptional!!! Really helped me see Kathmandu :) Very central location
Some rooms face the main road, which can be quite noisy. Call ahead for the pick up so they know you are coming
We stayed here 6 nights and it was a pleaseant stay. Free pickup from airport, very friendly and helpful staff, clean and tidy rooms, comfy beds, nice and quiet rooftop terrace, in room WiFi. Some rooms face the courtyard... A really good thing if you want to sleep early in busy thamel. Another good point (to my opinion) : you're out from thamel within 5 minutes walking.
Nothing to highlight.
I don't usually leave reviews (too lazy) but I enjoyed my stay here so much that I thought I would. I had a lovely and comfortable room. I had only planned staying a couple of days but ended up staying well over a week. Staff are lovely, room is nice, terrace is a really nice place to sit and sunbathe. And after checking with other hotels in the Thamel area it actually represents really good value for money. I will be back.
The staff at this hotel are excellent, extremely honest, helpful and great with arranging treks and guided tours at a good price.
That we couldn't stay longer with these good people
Staff very friendly, and offered the service of airport pick up service, hotel location is very good.
The room was spacious and clean. I had a front facing room so it was beautiful music played all day from the shop across the street and there were late night parties. (for me not a problem though). The staff are lovely, kind and thoughtful.
The hot water and electricity (like all of Kathmandu) was erratic. Wifi services good though a bit too slow to enjoy watching movies on line.
Location of the property is second to none, right in the centre of Thamel.
The location makes it a bit noisy and hard to sleep at night and in the early hours of the moring. However, if you are on a night out, then it is in an excellent location.
