Quite , clean with excelent service Very recommended
The staff were very helpful and courteous. No disturbances from other tourists of the hotel. The close proximity to the main tourist markets and city center was an added advantage for us.
Bath room needs more improvements and modern materials of hygiene.water boiling facilities and tea making facilities may be added comfort for families with young children.
The location is very strategic. Everything is within walking distance. The staffs are friendly and nice. The room was rather small but it is comfortable
The other guests, especially from certain nationals, didn't seem to respect the quiet down after 22.30 PM rule. The two times I stayed there, some guests talked very loudly in the garden until midnight, and the reception staff did not reprimand these noisy guests. It's not enough that the street dogs were barking like crazy, I guess
It's centrally located, with nice staffs, free water refill available and value for money rate. Breakfast provided is also good. On the last check in we were upgraded from budget to standard room. The staffs are always ready to get us taxi or rickshaw whenever we need, and haggle for the price on behalf of us.
This is partly not the fault of the hotel, but some of the guests from certain countries kept on talking in loud voices in the garden, or in their rooms with open windows until late at night. There is a policy to keep quiet after 10.30 PM but these two nationals either couldn't read it or just don't care. Also, every night there would be barking concert from street dogs, although this is much tolerable than inconsiderate people yakking with loud voice until midnight.
Location in Thamel was terrific. The hotel was reasonably priced and comfortable. I would not describe the location/hotel as "quiet," but if you are going to stay in Thamel, what can you expect? We liked the central location and had a very nice stay.
Internet was inconsistent; I don't think there is much the hotel can do about it, but be aware that it's not going to be available all the time, or be of particularly great quality.
GREAT location in the city center
The website is not that efficient. I have tried to type my question on email, but they don't really answer my requirement, which is really bad !!! And it's not that highly recommended as the other comment did.
Potala was centrally located which made it more than convenient to move about in Kathmandu. Moreover, not only was the staff friendly but was also extremely helpful and obliging.
The place is a bit noisy mainly because of the the infrastructure and travelers constantly on the move.
wifi is not always OK.
Deluxe rooms are very good
Standard rooms are not good
We had a deluxe room which had a sunny position. All amenities, in the room, were as described. It was very comfortable as it also had a seating area. Staff very helpful.
The adjacent restaurant was disappointing.
The room was spacious, quiet and clean. (We had a room at the back of the hotel, which I've heard is the best location. Pretty garden, helpful staff.
Breakfast was available, but overpriced and not great. Better to go out. Good location for Thamel, though Thamel itself is pretty intense.
Very friendly and helpful staff! We got also very good travel tips from travel agency at the hotel´s desk. Very good location.
Hotel has very friendly staff, good service (eg. wifi in the room), central location, sunny rooftop terrace with mountain views
Rooms at the front/street side are noisy
I have stayed a few times in Potala guest house and like to stay here because of the extremely friendly staff. Over all the place is clean and comfortable.
The shower and toilet of the room I was given seem to have been in use before my arrival and after house keeping had cleaned it. This is very annoying. They have to make some effort to shape up the toilets and showers of the front side building. Room walls need also be painted, (but still in a lot better condition than most other hotels in thamel area) The rooms facing the street are very noisy at night.
Most of the time very friendly staff
very noisy, forgot to give vake up call which was a very bad thing ad I was going to Bhutan for snowmans trek
Reception staff was very friendly and professional.
Single room without window and very dirty was a disapointment.
Your frad ness. You booking.com made a great cheetering with us.
A simple hotel very well located in the City. Very friendly and hospitable staff - Nepalese hospitality. Absolutely value for money!!
The room is old-fashioned and dated. The bathroom was quite simple, but it worked fine. Not a hotel-room where you wish to spend too much time - apart from the sleeping.
The staff are really friendly and helpful, especially the staff from reception. The hotel has a nice small garden and also has a convenient location. After dinner you can go around to shopping~
I think normally is more expensive to book in the internet in advance rather than just go to the hotel directly if it is not seasonal time. Since it's located in the city center, it's a little bit noisy.
good place，good service
Wonderful friendly staff - so welcoming, really felt at home.
