“ I like the hotel because it is in the middle of the rice fields and has a little bit distance from the town and the villages so it is a quite place. The resort is very well designed to match with the nearby surroundings. It is an enjoyment to sit on the deck and watch out from there. The hotel staffs are very friendly and they are fun to be with . ”

We love-love-love-love-loved it! It's such a nice place with extremely friendly staff that speaks englisch. The room is beautiful, with a good bed and shower. Yes, the price for the activities is higher, but who cares? They support a lot of things so you can see it as a good cause! The restaurant is good, but please do not order the wines :).

The location is just great, the bungalows are comfortable. Staff kind, and breakfast cool. Activities are beyond expensive, specially the walking tour inside the jungle (does not worth it at all) Elephant safari is truly recommendable.

The location of this property is out of this world - the view from the restaurant is magnificent - a river runs through mainly agricultural land with distant views of the Annapurna range of mountains. The garden is beautiful and full of birds and butterflies (fireflies 'twinkle' at night) and much work is being done to improve pathways within it to give easier access to the individual buildings housing the rooms The management and staff went out of their way to assist in planning our days - jungle safari on elephant back, canoe trip (we saw a rhino -wow!!), bird-watching with an expert guide, elephant bathing in the river (Sapana has it's own elephants), making treats for the elephant and feeding them to her, Tharu village trip, etc. Sapana means 'dream' and it is the dream of the manager to benefit the local community - he supports many worthy activities and is soon to begin the construction of a school for local poor children which will provide them with good quality education, uniforms and a substantial meal each day - amazing!! For anyone who wants a real flavour of the area, this is the place to stay - my friend and I loved it. We were at Sapana in August and it was extremely hot. Rooms have fans and air conditioning but frequent power cuts meant that these did not function all of the time. It would be nice if there could be an investment in a back-up generator. Other than this, we cannot fault this place.

Simple and quiet. The elephant on the hotel grounds. Bike around the town The high prices for every activity. If you want to wash an elephant you can, by simply taking a bike ride from the hotel into the end of the town. Dont let them tell you that you need to pay 1500 rs for park entry fees to do this, as you dont. Just pay the guys that have the elephants. You can also take a bike ride to where the canoes are to take you over to the elephant breeding and save yourself around 1000rs.The entry fees are only 200rs . The hotels seem to make a good commission on every activity. July bad time to do most of the activities there as you see nothing in the jungle. After two days we were bored. Some sort of night entertainment would have been good as there is no tv. Take a good book.

My friend and I had a wonderful stay at Sapana Village Lodge. The manager was great and the staff couldn't do enough for us. The accommodation was really comfortable and set amongst the treetops and every morning was a pleasure to wake up to the sounds of all the local birdlife. Our excursions were all arranged for us in a very professional manner and we especially enjoyed the elephant washing Can't think of anything negative to say about this experience

Peaceful, away from hustle & bustle of Sauraha. Comfortable chalets, ensuite showers 7 toilets. Good food. Organised activities way more expensive than those offered in the town, which is easily reached & organisable

Secluded and relaxing They needed a bus ride to and from Sapana to the centre of Sauraha, as it was too far to venture out in the evenings. Powercuts = No A/C

Excellent location - just next to Chitwan National Park, in quiet, relaxing neighbourhood. Very friendly, open and helpful staff, always willing to chat, always smiling. Great choice of activities - you cannot be bored there! All the equipment in the resort was made by local people and it adds great atmosphere to the place. Official entrance fee to Chitwan National Park was 3 times overpriced (1500 instead of 500Rs) plus you have to pay the hotel fee
