the lovely people, the owner was inspiring, the bed, the hygiene, the beautiful surroundings. it was a dream!
Everything : the activities proposed by the hotel and in particular the quality of the guides chosen. Abi, our guide made everything possible for us to spot rhinos! The fact that they organize activities whenever you prefer without trying to absolutely integrate you to an existing group : we have often been alone with our guide. The food is great. Rooms are pleasant and clean. The staff is adorable and friendly. The garden is beautiful and relaxing.
One major point : money. 1. The restaurant is about 3 times more expensive than normal in Nepal, and the village is a bit far to go to other restaurants in the evening. 2. As in many places, the food prices don't include 10% service charges + 13% VAT. Well that's ok, even if useless. 3. Activity prices don't include 13% VAT, which would be OK if they told us when we asked for the total price of our activities rather than discovering it at the end when we paid. 4. At the end of the trip, if you want to pay by credit card, they will also add 3,5% on the global amount for "bank taxes" : thus you will pay their bank taxes, plus yours, plus the bank taxes on their bank taxes... First time I see that in my life. It's really sad to end up the beautiful stay like that...!
The setting, the atmosphere, the colours, the elephants
The whole atmosphere and the helpfull, friendly attitude of the staff
The environment is gorgeous. The staff are friendly and helpful.
No hot water for shower when there is little daylight.
Management and staff. The compound and views from restaurant and bar area was wonderful. The elephants and their exercise walk thru the compound. Food was good for Nepal. I would stay again.
We were told they had King beds, but they are actually Queen or Full beds. Expensive activities that weren't all that wonderful. Didn't get to see much wildlife on the elephant rides or the safari drive into the park. You can probably book them yourself for a lot less.
What we liked most was the staff, specially the boys that work at the restaurant. They are all very sweet and kind. The manager was always helpful too. We loved the expresso coffee bangalow and all the common areas with hammocks. The room was big and comfortable.
You can't see many animals on the jeep safari because of the noise. Try the jungle walk or the elephant safari!
Maybe a swimming pool can be perfect idea
Loved the layout and design of the lodge. Very 'African'. Places to comfortably sit and chill. Rooms are spacious and nicely designed and very clean.
It was quite hot and it would have been nice to have had a dip - but no pool.
Room was quite good. Their nature guide is excellent!
We had a very bad experience with a 3rd party jeep safari they proposed us. The jeep was broken on the way (as well as another jeep on the same journey) so we didn't see actually anything. Even though the owner seemed to care about that incident, we never got a refund. After an email I sent, they said it was their mistake on checkout but still they don't put any effort to refund us. That's too unprofessional for me.
very nice big garden. elephant in the hotel and gift shop available.
