front desk staff
The staff are incredible here, my friend was ill on our day of check out and they organised a doctor to come see them with a half hour, straight to the room an they let us overstay the check in at no extra cost. Amazing staff, amazing hotel. Can't fault it.
Garden, Swimming pool. We had amazing time.
Food, Breakfast was amazing but dinner........ not so good.
On arrival at the hotel on 25/8/14 my husband and I went to check in and found the reception staff very off putting. They treated us with disdain and juried us through the check in, did not offer us a welcome drink, did not tell us about facilities and breakfast times etc. we were hurried away to our rooms. My husband had to return to the desk to enquirer about Wifi access as we were not given out pass codes on arrival (even though wifi was included in room rate)!! However, the Buffett breakfast was amazing, fantastic selection of foods to choose from. The restaurant and Bar offered a good choice of foods and were good value for money. The pool was really clean and well maintained which the children lived in daily. All rooms were cleaned daily and we found all other staff in the hotel very courteous and polite. It was just the rude reception staff that jet the hotel down !!
Restaurant, pool & housekeeping
Customer service at the front desk was not upto the Mark with the other departments of the hotel. Found the front office staff inattentive & careless various times during the stay..
Good hotel best for tourists....
Great location. Rs.100-150 from Thamel or Durbar Square. Quiet, yet in the heart of the city. Lovely property - colonial in style. Lush garden - if only it rained less! Breakfast was fully loaded with a wide enough assortment. Beds were clean.
Airconditioning was weak for the size of the room and if only there were ceiling fans to help bust the humid weather. We wanted to keep the windows open for fresh air, but without a fan, it was stuffy. If the rooms had a nice view, it could have been better - but hey, you cant have it all !
Pool, breakfast, staff behaviour, location etc
Nothing to not like!!!
Nice garden to enjoy coffee there Big rooms WI first everywhere
Although breakfast was good but other meals need improvement
the breakfast spread was amazing, and the grilled chicken burger with cheese, and chicken chilly.
some rooms are too small, and the windows are too small to allow any view or sunlight.
Walking distance from tamel Rooms are clean They have a garden where you can have coffee in the morning
Rooms are small and have very small windows so not much light will come in, as well there is no view Breakfast doesn't have many options and if you are late you won't find anything.
Loved the garden and the pool. Ordered food from the pool restaurant and it was very good. very friendly staff and the loocation was good.
The rooms were not great as what they show on the website. the hotel inside looks very gloomy and needs to be upgraded. The breakfast buffet could be better.
clean, nice area
to quiet, not a very good food, a bit expensive for what is offering
Garden is nice for young children to roam around. Swimming pool is also nice. Location is nice and convenient.
This property is actually an old palace so rooms are old shaped and also smell old. Breakfast is nice but restaurant food definitely needs improvement. Bathrooms don't have exhaust fan and causes bad smell stuck inside the room. Room windows cannot be opened.
Friendly staff. Colonial style premises. Spacey, very clean and adequately furnished rooms with properly functional devices. Very good internet connection. Good breakfast buffet. Good location, central but away from loud traffic.
Very small sized TV.
Best thing is the location and reasonably quiet as it set back from the main road in Lazimpat.
Lacks charm and the decor is very dated especially the hallways between the rooms. The breakfast area is especially soulless and is in a function room the is just too large.
This hotel seems more upmarket than others in Kathmandu - they have loads of staff around to help you, although I would say we got better service elsewhere. The pool was lovely though, a little oasis in the city.
Some of the outside looks a bit tired.
Elegant oasis in the middle of a crazy loud city!
Large and loud tour groups coming thru.
The style of the hotel is amazing and the staff was very kind. Good breakfast.
The window was very small. No view and bad circulation of air.
Location - distance from road meant there was potential for a good nights sleep
Beds as hard as concrete, duvets so heavy was hard to move in bed, noisy aircon, toilets that stunk, showers that wet the whole bathroom floor, the swimming pool sublet to a local swimming instructor - too noisy and full for hotel guests to use, no soundproofing with inconsiderate guests, tea/coffee not replaced daily etc etc etc etc
Nice swimming pool
A little far from city center
The area was within walking distance to Thamel, and the tourist sights. It was in a local area where I found 2 good places to eat a meal and have a drink. At a reasonable price also the service was not pushy and the owner checked that the food was not going to be fire (chilly) hot for me. Also no other westerners there!! Good roof top away from the dust. Hotel near a supermarket where you can get beer, fruit, bread and snacks if you are on a budget even when staying at the hotel. Breakfast was more than enough for choice. Jazz bar up 3 floors was very reasonable for beer and a change from the usual bars.
Coffee at breakfast was a bit naff, considering that there is a choice and quality in Nepal. The rip off Irish Bar which added on to extras after the menu price was cheap?? and then tried to keep 5 rupees - don't bother going there.
Great location in the centre and awesome green area to get some relief from KTM noise and hustle. Very nice pool. I will be back.
