The staff was trying to be kind, but their english was really bad and when we arrived and told them that we have made a booking online, they were just staring at us as if we were coming from another planet. They did not understood a word.
Everything! The Hotel itself is really dark, no light coming in from the outside. The rooms havent been cleaned for months or even years! I have never been in a hotel that dirty! Typical for Kathmandu, electricity was not working parts of the day. In Shree Lal Inn the result of this was that there was no hot or even cold water in the Bathroom for at least half of the day because running water seems to be connected to the electricity...so if you are going to the toilet and there is no electricity...well, you can imagine! We booked two nights in advance. But we left after one night because this hotel is really unbearable. It has also to be said, that these were our last nights in Nepal. We have already been travelling for three weeks through Nepal and nowhere - even not on the Annapurna Base Camp trek - have we found such bad and dirty conditions. Shree Lal Inn is absolutely not recommendable!
Location and friendly staff
No hot water, even though there was supposed to be, and general water issues a few times, which were being fixed while I was there but made it quite uncomfortable.
Electricity and water is the problem in this hotel. I was not able to use wifi from my room always. Internet speed was not useable also. They have no room service. Rooms are not well ventilated too.
Location is good. The middle of the Thamel district.
only one of said it. water stops. bucket to the help, during the night water for leave Let's. Day of the electrical also toilet also shower are available can not.
Staff is really nice !
Rooms smelled of Mold very bad Windows went out to the hallway and you could hear everybody on the floor. generally a dingy, dirty, depressing atmosphere. I was looking forward to having a hot shower and resting, but instead I checked in and went out looking for a better room all day. Got bitten by insects everywhere while sleeping.
Wifi was awesome..working well. The staff was good putting smile always and really helpful, esp the owner s wife who is so kind arrange us trip to Bhaktapur and Nagarkot in reasonable price.
The room is too small, but no big deal cuz we only wanted a place to sleep and rest.
The price, so cheap! For 700 rup i got a double bed, bathroom in the room, fan and TV! No complaints here!! The staff were super helpful and nice, brilliant location for Thamel, and lots of shopping. I think people need to be more realistic about the country they are reviewing :) It is a great place and need to remember it's a third world country
The neighbouring hotel has a generator that i happened to hear as i was having an early night but was off by 9pm. Like all Nepal hotels the beds are not the comfiest, but this is for every hotel i stayed in, expensive and cheap.
Fantastic staff - Sabina was able to help plan both our day tours and our entire Ghorepani-poon hill trek Great location in Thamel Excellent vegetarian food in the restaurant
Beds are a bit hard but this seems to be quite common around Asia
I dont like anything
It was more like dust heap than a hotel. The room was very unclean, I and my wife were afraid even to touch anyting
I stayed at Shree Lal Inn for one day with my friend. The rooms are small but the staff are friendly, the location just on the main street of Thamel and the food in the restaurant is gorgeous. The restaurant Shree Lall Pure veg restaurant has one of the best vegetarian dishes . The Inn and restaurant is ran by a dedicated man Mr Ritvik Das and his wife. He was an orphan that was taken in by the charity organisation,SOS.This is an example of how SOS changed Ritvik's life for better and now he in turn is doing the same to other orphaned kids in Kathmandu. Do try the Palak Panner and the ginger lemon tea.
Upon check in, we were told our room was being cleaned and was not ready. We did not mind, and had a cup of tea in their restaurant to wait. When we checked on the room a bit later, we discovered that they had given our room away- while we were sitting in their restaurant! They had no rooms for us, so took us next door to a hotel that was more expensive and of lesser quality. This poor service is inexcusible.
The Staff is Great so is wifi. Clean and comfortable rooms (not the single rooms though. Hardest mattares ever, but very cheap) good value for money. Veg. Restaurant deffenetely worth a visit. Would deffenetely live there again if i cone back to Nepal!
Sometimes lack of hot water.
The place has character, the staff are helpful, the food is delicious (and lots of it, and at cheaper prices than you could find up the road, for the same meals)
- very nice and friendly staff - we arrived delayed from delhi and they were giving us a warm welcome at 2 o'clock in the morning - good location - great staff - hot shower
- very hard beds
Nice staff, very good veg. restaurant, good wifi.
Toilet not working, but not a big surprise in nepal
Friendly and helpful staff. Very good location. The food in restaurant was also very good. Wi-fi was also working very fine.
In january it was very cold in our room. An extra blanket might help to be warmer.
Rather cheap, nice central location. Has a pure vegetarian restaurant with vegan options.
Rooms are ok to crash for one night, but don't expect too much. Found a few bugs there. I didn't like food in the restaurant that much. It's pretty popular with locals though, so it can be just me.
Location is good. Price is really cheap.Really cold in Jan and we change to another one after one night. But it will be better when getting warmer.
Room is not clean enough and restroom could barely be used. Considering the price, maybe acceptable.
