Great location in wonderful city. Very warm and friendly.
Good location, 5 minutes walk from the darbar square. Served a decent breakfast.
Quite expensive for a boutique hotel. They have no restaurant or dining facilities or even room service
Very good location, well and special decorated, kind and helpful staffs, nice breakfast, very good view from the top of the building, 24hrs hot water for shower.
Wifi was not working during my stay, no airport free pick up or drop.
The view of the rooms are amazing!
The staff were 2 young kids so I think it doesn't give like a serious image to the hotel.
Receptionist promised special early breakfast arrangements and next morning nothing of that was ready and no one knew about this arrangements. They even did not have plain toast bread!
Stunning little property just a stone's throw from the main entrance to Durbar Square. Fantastic apartment on the top floor with a private balcony plus an even bigger balcony area which can be accessed, which the bedroom overlooks. Lovely staff, very thoughtful touches (from toiletries to a welcome basket) & the perfect place to stay for a few days whilst exploring this magical town. Thoroughly recommend & just wish we could've stayed longer.
Only thing to be aware of is that it's on the 4th floor but there are 3 other rooms on the floors below if that's an issue. Good wifi but only really works in the lobby area. Other thing to be aware of is that the cost to enter the town is $15pp, though this ticket lasts up to a week (you need to take your passport when buying the ticket if you want the pass to last longer than 1 day).
The staff is very friendly and rooms offer a breathtaking view of the city. Would LOVE to stay there again.
Not right in the city due to power cut.(But this hotel have a private power generation.)
This hotel is incredibly charming and clean. The rooms are actually suites, with a living room, a kitchen, a large bathroom and a very tastefully decorated bedroom. The hot water supply seems pretty reliable and there is some form of electricity throughout the day. The wifi only works well in one spot in the suite but it's free and reliable. The staff is beyond nice and helpful. The location is perfect for strolling in the streets of Bhaktapur. For the price, it is really a great deal.
The breakfast could be improved a bit but was copious. The hotel is located on the street so it can be a bit noisy early (6-7am) in the morning. Overall, no major issues.
Location is perfect. Room is spacious and comfortable
View from the room and the facilities were good.
Do not stay there at the nepali new year festivial. In the daytime it is silent there because everybody stays in the old town but at nighttime it is very loud.
Great design, very close to the old city, very polite and efficient staff.
could be a bit noisy at times
The hotel is very close to Durbar Square. The rooms are quite spacious. I booked two rooms for 2 adults and 2 children (ages 12 and 11). One room would have been plenty.
The breakfast was ok. The staff went to a lot of trouble carrying our breakfast to room which was appreciated. We were served warm milk for our cereal. This was not a hit with my kids. We also tried taking a shower but didn't have warm water. We later learned that the hot water is controlled on the right hand side and the cold water is controlled on the left hand side. Oh well. I said the comfort was "good" and it was because it was spacious but the overall feeling of the place is not warm and cozy.
An amazing place! This was our 2nd time in this lovely property. The apartment is wonderful, comfortable and beautiful. The staff kind, lovely and so sweet. The location is great. They now have a solar power so hot water and electricity available 24hour a day! Looking forward staying there again. Bahtaupur is a lovely town! Thank you for making our stay in Bahtaupur lovely and ever so comfortable.
Great location, comfortable bed, nice big room.
poor breakfast choice, bad smell in bathroom, need better reception facilities. Too expensive.
For the money this place cost, it is excellent value. Small extras in the decour and the best wifi I had in all Kathmandu area, it is good. Room 1 is a big suite with two rooms and wonderful design details.
No AC. If in the hot months, that would make this a place I would not use.
Very helpful staff. We had a problem with our Buddha Air flight and they managed to make arrangements for new tickets to be issued.
Wi-Fi was slow, but it is understandable since the hotel is powered mostly by solar power during blackout periods.
Staff, location and rooms were perfect.
Great location, helpful, friendly staff, excellent facilities.
Quiet big room with nice view.
Bad smell in the bathroom.Nice entrance but they need to add sofas . No restaurant
Wow! Tagu Chhen really felt like the home away from home. Great location in Bhaktapur. We felt so welcome and well-cared for and the breakfast was really good.
One of the best place to stay in Nepal. Love it!!
Fantastic staff that did what ever they could Think of to make you feel comfortable. Great location just 2 min to the entrance of Durbar squer. Always hot water and free internet in the room. Don't miss the fantastic view from the roof top terasse where we even got our breakfast served upon request.
That the bedroom face the road and the noise from that was very present, but the owner have promised to improve the sound insulation as top priority, we slept in the living room instead witch was much better.
The design of the apartments is great (perfect mix of tradition and modernity). The breakfast is amazing and served in the bedroom! The location is perfect, very near Durbar Square, taxis and all sorts of shops. We also received agreat photo book made by Thagu Chhen as a gift! Thagu Chhen is the perfect place to stay in Nepal.
Unidentified and unpleasant chemical smell in the bathroom (in both apartments we occupied)
The hotel is a delight. The owner, who is also the architect of the building, has painstakingly and lovingly put together a beautiful place with meaning and fine personal touches. Every suite has is named after a special festival, wood works, crafts etc are sourced locally, the craftsman and builders are from Bhaktapur. The owner has a vision to demonstrate that Bhaktapur is a completely self sustainable city and the hotel is her project to show the world that. The apartments/ suites are lovely. Modern with a touch of Bhaktapur culture. Comfortable, with great views and very close to the main sight-seeing areas.
Good service and view delicious breakfast comfortable as home
Wifi signal is not quite good
