Score from 33 reviews Excellent
- good location, 2 minutes walk to the durbar square. - the traditional architecture of the building itself is pleasing to the eyes. - friendliness of the staff, specially at their restaurant. - late one evening, the owner/manager willingly transferred us to another room upon my request, when the guests in the adjacent room got noisy.
- power outages were often, sometimes long periods (4-5 hours) and almost daily. - bad internet connection - don't get a room with an adjoining room if you are sensitive to noise !!! it's an old house and sound proofing is non-existent. - the hotel is along a narrow street that gets very busy and noisy during the day. at night the barking dogs take stage. but i can't fault the hotel for this.
The quiet area
The hard bed
Wonderful architecture, wonderful furniture and wonderful location..., well, that's all what I was looking for !
because it is solar heated, the shower needs a few minutes to provide you warm water. But anyway, I am in favor of this sustainable type of of energy, given the huge power cuts the country faces for the moment....
This is the best accommodation in the city. The location couldn't be better, the building inside and outside is beautiful and very very clean. The staff is excellent - they are really nice. And the best pro for the World Heritage and Apartments is the owner Sagar and his family!!!! Fantastic people!!! We loved them:)
very friendly and family like
internet and power outages
Lovely hotel, good and competent staff. The room/apartment is really nice, large, clean and very comfortable. Good value for money. Location excellent! Food was very good. Can be a bit noisy during the day but at night it does quiet down.
Very good location. The owner is very helpful and very kind.Food is nice.Big room.free wi fi and transfer from airport. Good food.
The room on the street is a little bit noisy..
Helpful staff- very friendly manager
Location.Hospitable staff.Owner and wife couldn't have been more helpful
Nothing I didn,t like
Staff and owner very helpful and friendly. Home away from home feel to the hotel. Very much enjoyed the authentic Nepalese atmosphere, decor and meals.
The place, rooms, comfort and most of all "the staff"
The receptionnist and the boss are very kind, large room with nice decoration and a kitchenette. Hotel well situated, just near the entrance of Dubar Square.
The street is too noisy.
Staff was really helpful and they were willing to organize and advise on everything you wanted (bus tickets, hikes, etc.) The room was so great with wooden floors and ceilings with old decorations and all. The breakfast could be ordered to rooftop, where it was so nice to sit in the sunlight and gaze upon the Durbar Sq.
Some nights were pretty noisy (stray dogs barking outside) and as the walls are like paper, everything could be heard too well. The wifi connection didn't work everywhere in the room.
The hotel was located as close to KTM Durbar Square as you could possibly be. Hotel staff were very friendly and seemed earnest. Roof view was excellent and the rooms were very attractively decorated. Free pickup and drop off service (we didn't encounter such service at any other accommodations!)
Heater provided was not functioning and staff was unable to replace. (but oh well - we made do.) Gas stove was available in deluxe room but pots for boiling water weren't available to borrow from kitchen.
The owner Sagar is such a nice person, I would like to extent my stay if I haven't book the other hotels. The location is prime, and which a backdoor direct connect to the Kanuman Palace. The room is huge, with traditional Nepalese decoration. nice rooftop terrace, comprementary breakfast. The breakfast severed in large volume.
The room is too big so it is so cold at night, you need to wait for more than 10 minutes to get the hot water from the pipe. it is the most expensive accommodation I paid during my stay in Nepal, you pay the location but not necessary the facilities.
*location right in an UNESCO protected area ("royal sqaure") *Sagar the owner and manager ready to help with everything *old style house *staff attentive and ready to serve
The deluxe rooms were very beautifully decorated, spacious and comfortable. Location could not be better.
Sometimes staff a bit too helpful, lurking on your shoulder at dinner. Found on arrival that they also have basic rooms at fraction of the cost available on booking.com.
Location. Most welcoming and very helpful owner. You feel like friends not guests. Thank you
The location of the hotel and the surroundings were a different world altogether . . . just the Charm you look for when travelling to Kathmandu . . . which turned out to be goa x 7 times over !!
Was slightly disappointed with the pack up time @night - everything shuts down by close to 9 pm ! But then - thats . . Nepal for you !!
