The teens loved the paintings on all the walls inside and out

Window wouldnt shut as the freezer power cord was plugged in the bedroom socket. Bed was very uncomfortable, bowed every which way.Shared Toilet was very cold in the middle of the night and the showers were not inviting. Ok place to sleep on a budget but wouldnt stay there for more than overnight, We left early morning.

I only needed a bed as I was attending a friends birthday party. I was given a room opposite the shower and toilet. This place is not new but my room and the facilities were very clean. I made use of the bookcase in the hallway for a short read before a good nights sleep. I enjoy quirky places and the murals were a highlight - put another spin on cheap and cheerful. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again

This is a real cozy, nice place. Nice garden, good accomodation. The people who run the place are a real nice couple Andrew &Chloe. They are the best! They gave me such a warm welcome and were very helpfull. Thank you so much for the positive energy and all the information and help!

Very simple rooms without any furniture besides a bed and only two showers and toilets for a lot of guests.

The proximity with Tongariro National Park and the hot pools, reception ok.

Everything is dirty. People who work there live there with their families.

Plenty of places to sit and eat your lunch or dinner. The owner was genuinely friendly and provided excellent info about the area. The shower had good water pressure.

Friendly staff, good facilities.

Our bed (double) was a tired, clean but matress had possibly seen its day, not the easiest nights sleep, roll together.

This is nice place. Ian was really helpful and provide us all the information around there.(nice places to visit, supermarket,etc) I likes the drawings which was all around.

I stayed here with my Dad and my two children on a skiing trip. We were thoroughly impressed with the service and cleanliness of this backpackers. The host went over and beyond the call of duty; making sure eating quarters were warm and cosy morning and night with a roaring fire; helping us unload and having our bunk room ready with a heater going and clean linen. He was very friendly and approachable. We would definately stay again. Thanks!

Overall, good value for money. Appreciated the breakfast made for me and brought to my room. It is very quiet in the bed rooms, I had a good night sleep.

Maybe time for a bit of refurbishing some of the tired looking furniture, and carpets in the hall way and bedrooms.

What we liked most about this hostel is his owner: Ian. What a funny, friendly and helpful guy. The location is perfect if you want to do the Togariro alpine crossing. The kitchen is huge and very clean, excellent pressure in the shower. Ian, if you read this, Put it on! C'est la vie

Erg vuil en slecht onderhouden keuken, te weinig toiletten en douches voor zoveel gasten, beddengoed was vuil en geen wifi!

au premier abord on veut repartir mais le patron est sympa alors on reste. la clôture en bois est peinte par les backpakers.

le mobilier à bien vécu certain devraient êtres remplacés. les BBQ ne sont pas nettoyés après utilisation par les backpakers car se sont les utilisateurs qui lavent les objets utilisés.

The lodge was homely and the vibe was chilled out. The staff were friendly, open, welcoming and thoughtful. The site itself was nice. It seems like a place that would be great over the summer months, a good place for international travelers looking for good, cheap accommodation. I think it would be a great place to get to know people, and also to bring friends and/or family for some time out from work or other commitments. Overall, a good experience. I would be happy to stay there again.
