At first wasn’t too sure about New Plymouth but the more we walked around the city the more we liked it. It’s a very tidy city with lots of amazing murals painted on buildings, tidy and clean with every shop you could think off. It is handy to the foreshore and a beautiful walkway and within a few hundred metres from beautiful Pukekura Park on other side of township, a must visit.

My new favourite city in New Zealand, what a little gem, hidden secret in the North Island. It is cultural, scenic, modern and so easy to get around. It is one of the most kid friendly places we have visited in New Zealand with free activities all around to keep little ones entertained. The food options are outstanding and affordable and the locals are very friendly. We are so lucky to live not too far away so we will be back often to visit.

Beautiful place to explore and relax.
Beautiful place to explore and relax. Easy to find your way around as pretty much all streets link up, lots of different eateries all along the main strip and side streets. We ended up having fast foods and room service for the duration of our short trip as we traveled with young children. We enjoyed most Being able to meet up with all our family from around New Zealand and getting together at the local hotels or beach’s/ parks and letting the kids run freely together.
king and queen suites New Plymouth by FAR the best hotel we have ever stayed at,
staff are phenomenal, so friendly and helpful, so many nice little details that make this place so special, the handwritten note in our room on arrival! the little booklet we received full of little coupons and recommendations of the town, excellent facilities in the spacey rooms, the comfiest pillows i have ever slept on, great parking facilities, great location,
We will definitely be back. Thanks Dan and the team!
Location was perfect, easy to find and close to central CBD. Made it super easy for getting around. Room was spacious and comfortable. Spa pool was nice to soak in at the end of the day. They offer really nice bf, all day menu and dinner menu. Even though we didn’t use room service it was nice to know it was available if we needed. Self service Laundry was available to guess and super cheap for $4 for a wash and complete dry.
This is difficult to review as we didn't end up staying there because the unit had a broken shower that morning & no other units available! However the manager was most apologetic and had booked a room at the Plymouth International Hotel up the road. She hopped in the car with us as a guide and facilitated the check in & prepaid the room. The hotel has a 4 star rating (8) and was roomy & comfortable
Bella Vista is very nice motel with laundry, the receptionist is very pleasant person, he explain all you can visit in New Plymouth, he give us good restaurant and bar address. That the first time we visited New Plymouth we have very good feeling with Bella Vista. We recommend Bella Vista at all tourists.
Bed was very comfy. It was easy to find our room, and our way around the hotel. The grounds looked very nice and tidy and there were some interesting sculptures. Buffet was pricey but food was excellent and huge selection so might have been worth the cost.
We stayed her to the NZ Triathlon. I've never been to New Plymouth before and this hotel was perfectly located with everything we needed. I had to do some work so the wifi was super efficient and the separate room meant my son and I had our own space.
As always, Nice Hotel was exceptional in every way...perfect location right in town, luxurious styling and bedding with added bonus of a nice big spa bath :) Lovely little courtyard right outside our room...really appreciated the upgrade!!
Lovely quiet setting outside of New Plymouth, with easy access to the main road into town. Large room with kitchen facilities and huge bathroom. Well worth the cost. Restaurant on-site was an added bonus.
This was an exceptional house to stay at on the edge of New Plymouth CBD and the park. Both the rooms & service was excellent, equivalent to a 5 star hotel. The breakfast each morning were most enjoyable
Location is excellent. We could walk to the waterfront, the mall, the supermarket. Off street parking right outside our door. The Spa bath was real luxury. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Well located close to Mt Taranaki and New Plymouth. Room was well appointed and private. Kitchen was spacious. Pool table was a bonus and fun. There is a lovely stream on the property. Recommended
The staff very helpful and friendly
Room was clean and beds comfortable
Always would recommend this hotel and would always book here whenever we go to new plymouth😍🙂
