It's location suited me perfectly. Omarama has enough service facilities to make it very comfortable, but it doesn't have the crowds that makes some of the other towns in the area less attractive. And still ... you're within short drives of all the attractions the area has to offer. The owners were great ... very helpful and accomodating. The view of the mountains from my room was outstanding. After arriving,I immediately decided to spend another night and look forward to a longer visit in the near future.

Most everything at the price.

Eating places were a bit thin on the ground but the local hotel did a HUGE roast pork dinner - real gut buster.

*Clean, basic, very satisfactory. *Very comfy bed. *Strategic location in the gap between other more scenic and popular towns - about 40 kms to next option in any of 3 directions. *Very good value for low budget traveller.

The hosts were very friendly and suggested places to visit while we were there. We really appreciated their helpfulness with everything we asked about.

The motel was comfortable very clean,well stocked and affordable. Rose was so welcoming and made us feel very much at home and was solicitious for our needs. We will certainly visit again.

We found the shower water pressure hard to control.

We were in a studio unit because we had booked late - the unit was fine but it was extremely hot when we stayed and the unit did not have air-con - would be the only thing we would have liked. Otherwise the facility was fine.

Generally clean and tidy. All required facilities available.

Perfect stop-over to break the journey between Queenstown and Christchurch, with very helpful and friendly staff.

The people were lovely and while an older style motel, it had everything you needed.

The shower, ran off instant hot water and was very poor flow to keep it warm enough

Top value for money,

Omarama as a town lacks personality, it is just a tourist stop. Hence this is no reflection on the motel whatsoever.

The motelier explain things really well and met us at the unit then showed us around it. He had little notices up, encouraging the clients to recycle. He gave us a choice in what kind of milk we could have. He had Triton heating systems. He had turned on the heating well in advance of our arrival so the rooms were really cosy. The bedding was generous.

When I had a shower, the water failed to all flow down the plug hole. Some tracked over to the toilet so when I used that later, I got wet feet. I left the water so he would realize there was a problem. I think the floor must be slightly tilted down towards the toilet. The mattress was a normal mattress but at home we have a memory foam mattress. So every time my partner moved, the bed rocked and woke me up except when I managed to dream there was an earthquake happening (I'm from Chch). But it's only because I'm used to our mattress. However, our mattress is very expensive and it's unrealistic to have a mattress of our quality in a motel. But you did ask... The pillow was a little firm but that's an individual taste and you can't please everyone. It was probably a better than average pillow. But I'm really fussy! I've have a feather pillow. Just being honest and I wouldn't moan about these things to anyone else except you did ask. But I didn't have a good night's sleep with the rocking plus my partner left the door open so we got too hot which made him shift even more in his sleep...moan, moan.
