Fantastic house, wonderful hosts. We had a brilliant weekend and felt very much at home. Our every need was catered for and nothing was a problem. Thank you and we will be back!
The view over Blenheim.
We booked a four day stay in late February and stayed one night. The cloudy bay suite that we booked did have access to the shared balcony. Did not have a private bath- the bath was in fact across the hall and ensuite to another bedroom with no lock on the bathroom side of that arrangement. The in-floor heating in the bath was not available to us, it is controlled by a timer in another area of the house and our hosts were not available when I turned it on in the early evening. We had a very poor sleep that night and in the morning I discovered that the duvet was a mesh covered dense fibre filled mat that was very heavy and uncomfortably hot. The pillows were two individual flat hard pillows placed in each queen case. The only air conditioning we saw was a small wall unit in the lounge area. The breakfast was two boxes of cereal, fruit salad, tea, instant coffee, two slices of toast from a loaf of store bought white bread. We were not offered any other choices for breakfast. The hosts understood that we had some misgivings about staying on with them and offered us one of their more expensive rooms at the additional cost- that was not acceptable to us. We notified the hosts while they were at their day work that we would be leaving and notified Booking.com that we were leaving. The hosts here charged us the full 4 day charge and booking.com did not advocate for us. We had a wonderful stay at a different B&B for the remainder of our time in Blenheim.
The view is stunning
No en-suite bathroom option, bed a standard double despite being in a large room. Continental breakfast basic with only sliced white bread on offer. Owners very friendly but talked to us throughout both meals when we might have preferred some private space.
The view of blenheim countryside
We thought it was a lodge, but instead its a bed n breakfast. The couple that owned the house were way too friendly, but were nice! They did not give us a key to the house and we left to explore blenheim. We came back to the house to be locked out. We waited and hour and a half before calling booking.com. the rep at booking.com called the owners and they were at work where they own a restaurant. We did not feel comfortable at this place at all, but the view was amazing and house was well maintained. On booking.com, it is labeled as a lodge and wasn't. And there was no sign at the entrance of the bed n breakfast to let us know it was the right place. It was very strange to knock on someones door thinking its a lodge when it isn't!
Views fantastic. Run by ery helpful and lovely couple.
