Argyle on the Park  

Location was good, handy to the city, just a pleasant walk away through the gardens. Manager was friendly and enthusiastic about the motel. Everything worked, good room facilities. Really enjoyed Christchurch and seeing its recovery.

Bathroom was pokily designed and so unattractive. Tended to go with an aging appearance, even if well maintained. Guest laundry was just a washing machine and clothesline. Unfortunately no nearby facilities to buy fresh food at a reasonable price.

A bit dark in decor but very clean and comfortable.

The room was exceptionally clean and tidy, we felt like were staying in our own home.

Loved the locality with restraurants and the Park so close everybody so nice and friendly a special mention zm More breakfast car that gave us a lift when 2 damsells lost- lovely guy "Brockie' not sure name right - he was just so nice.!!

This was my third stay at this motel. Every time I go to New Zealand I stay here. Great owner operator! Close to downtown, and mall. Comfortable clean large rooms, with kitchen facilities.

No elevator to second floor.

The managers,Chris and Maggie exceeded expectations.the apartment was very well appointed and roomy.Great location as close to gardens and busstop as well as eaterys and pubs.

Convenient for City Centre, Clean and tidy. Good choice of TV channels, but could not get Sky to work. Lovely walk through through park & botanical gardens to Christchurch centre. Convenient for eating places and convenience stores. Arranged free transfer to railway station early morning. Convenient for coach drop off from Queenstown, airport and railway station.

Central to Riccarton as easy to find.

Office staff were not friendly quite abrupt. for the price we thought the interior was very outdated especially bathroom.

Helpful and friendly staff. The room was very clean and comfortable. We could only stay one night but would have enjoyed staying longer. The room was comfortable enough and spacious enough for a longer stay. Loved being able to walk to the park, botanical gardens and the museum.

Close to addington where I needed to be for work. Quiet, clean and comfortable.

friendly management - obliging

The motel was simple but had everything we needed. Staff were friendly and casual. Location (next to Riccarton Rd and Hagley Park) was excellent for us.

Cooked Breakfasts were excellent value. Bruce was extremely helpful, taking us to station when our pick-up failed to turn up.

We had to visit the hospital a few times over Saturday and Sunday so it was close to do that and then go to Riccarton Mall. Close enough to walk out for dinner.

It's a beautiful & cosy motel situated beside the botanic gardens, walking distance to city centre and a short walk to bars & restaurants. The owners Maggie & Bruce are friendly chaps and made our stay very welcoming. Definitely a thumbs up for this!

Internal lighting is in need of improvement. The bulbs were low light.
