Everything about the hotel
authentic historic atmosphere
The rooms have been done up very well, evening meal was great
Buffet breakfast was very disappointing, either there was nothing in the very small baymaries or there was no bread for toast, or no butter, always something missing to make a breakfast, just didnt have enough food for people that were there very disappointed
Great hotel close to the waterfront. Loved the Art Deco features. Rooms were roomy and the restaurant was good value for money.
The location and decor was excellent , staff wonderful the breakfast was great and fantastic setting. Good access to Irish pub for dinner.roof top balcony was lovely and could just relax with access from your room.
The bath was very slippery and even when put the mat in , it made it even more slippery and very dangerous! Getting in and then out I slipped and bruised my leg on the shower screen very hard. Even though a grab bar, not very well designed. Needs to be looked at and modified.
The character of the hotel, so much nicer than the sterile sameness of most hotels/motels. The room was a bit on the small side but it was warm and comfortable with access to the outside terrace. The china cups and saucers a lovely touch.
Unfortunately I had an accident in the shower when the mat slid from under me, and ended up on my back on the bathroom floor. It could have been serious. I filled in an incident form and appreciated the response by staff.
Close to sea. Central. Interesting Art Deco building.
Rooms were obviously recently renovated and very nice. Free wi-fi was excellent. Art deco charm of building. Nice eatery downstairs but also walking proximity to some other fine restaurant (MINT gets a special mention).
No convenient car parking in the hotel. Shower was clean but narrow and small making it difficult to keep the shower curtain from draping on you at times.
The Emporium restaurant attached had good food and great hotels, and we tried the attached Irish pub as well. Also great. Very central, right across from the information centre
In keeping with Art Deco style. Recently renovated. Emporium for meals was fabulous. Great situation being central to town as well as on the water front.
No where to unload bags - then a distance to car park facility.
hospitality the way it was.........warm , comforable and friendly.......not to mention a beautiful old structure.
Everything - clean stylish room, friendly efficient staff, good food and sea front location.
Can' think of anything.
Was very central to everything, we enjoyed our stay very much. The balcony was great to sit outside and relax.
The shower in the bath is a little dangerous for older people as the bath tub is not very low.
Art deco furnishings were great and access to the balcony was lovely for enjoying a bottle of local wine. Location very central.
Wifi struggled to connect from certain rooms (was okay after we connected from the main reception area initially). Curtains let in a lot of light early morning.
Very nice refurbished room
Food in Emporium Restaurant was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good location.
Art Deco doesn't mean Op-Shop -and that's how our suite was furnished. Room lacking in decor, mishmash of dreary colours and past-it furniture - bathroom has been modernised but not in Deco style. Overpriced.
Beautiful hotel and rooms. Reminiscent of a grand era.
Loved that we we could access the balcony from our room and we could sit outside over looking the sea.Just beautiful
That we couldn't stay longer
The renovation of this hotel is a credit to the owners. All fittings etc. blended into the time. Breakfast selection was good.
Room just a little small but well fitted out. The shower while keeping with the art deco period a bit deadly getting in and out . We booked a room with a view but did not get it.
Loved the queen suit! Amazing view. Lady at reception was so funny and very sweet. (American accent) staff were the only highlight... Unfortunately I didn't get the opportunity to try their restaurant which I believe looked amazing. Staff 11/10 Decor 4/10
No bath robes. $300+ for one night and I cant even relax in a nice fluffy robe after a shower (which shouldve been a bath) Art deco: the only thing art deco was the carpet and even that was a bit iffy, I was hoping that staying in one of the most expensive rooms in the hotel would give me an experience of luxury and history... it was to modern. wasnt the best feeling in the world when I saw the cheaper rooms were exactly the same minus a lounge.
Great location and atmosphere
Excellent room. Wi-fi worked well. Efficient, friendly staff and great location.
Distance from hotel to car park for transferring baggage.
Liked the deco style. Clever fit out keeping sense of heritage
