I had a warm, comfy bed in a room to myself - heaven!
Not much actually. I prefer harder mattresses but that is not a criticism.
Friendly staff, good food, privacy. neat and clean
Not much to dislike. Rooms were perhaps a little jaded but still clean and warm.
In the heart of the village. On-site restaurant and bar with warming fire. Rooms were comfortable and warm.
Overall the facility was just fine. We discovered that when it is "winter" season the area is not very active. I like quite, so fewer people is fine. However, it felt a bit odd being the only people eating in the restaurant.
I liked being able to walk around the village, and get to the hiking trails within minutes. Our meal at the chalet was very good. The beds were very comfy.
Clean, basic accommodation at a reasonable price. Food in restaurant excellent. Staff friendly.
facilities are old.
location is perfect. nestled in a perfect place that could oversee the beautiful arthur's pass landscape. staff is friendly and helpful
Close to walks Provided meals on public holiday. Free breakfast and kitchen to make own tea/coffee.
Wifi was not working.
Nice mountain hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast.
Noise from kitchen travels to upstairs rooms.
Great location. Great food.
The premises are old and need updating compared with other accommodation for similar price we experienced on our travel in NZ. The upstairs room we had did not provide a phone for room service and it was pouring rain. To get down stairs we had to go outside and down stairs then around to the front of the building...not satisfactory!
The staff and managers/owners are lovely people and we found them very helpful & they made our stay enjoyable.
Furnishings dated and tired looking.
Good hearty meals in restaurant and friendly staff. Milk available for tea and coffee in rooms. Basic breakfast supplied in room cost.
Mattress and pillows could have been more comfortable but I guess for the price range they were acceptable
Friendly staff and excellent location
Room was damp, old and musty. Noisy and uncomfortable. Definitely would not return.
Staff were nice but a little inflexible.
Decor is a little tired
Excellent restaurant Beautiful views
Shower was way to short so hard to use. Room a little bit small and dark but still nice and comfortable
Staff was friendly and the room was nice and comfortable (even though it was small and dark). Restaurant was lovely and breakfast was great. Bar was a lovely relaxing area.
Communal fridge in corridor. No fan in bathroom. Difficult to turn off hot tap. No towel rail which had been broken by previous guest.
The room was a bit basic but clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast included in price. Excellent evening meal. The walk (324 steps) to the devils punchbowl was worth every ache afterwards.
Perhaps the standard of dress. The Manager had his hat on all the time and spoke very quickly, like he was rushing a little. Apart from that the people were very hospitable and friendly.
Location, comfort and decor. It was nice to sit by the fire and relax and have dinner brought to us on the lounge suite after a big day tramping.
The rooms were Cossies and very clean, bed comfortable. The restaurant and lounge were excellent. Great food and staff.
The single bed was a bit soft but the double was find.
Chalet owner couple were friendly and helpful. Good location. Surprised to find out that the wifi was running very smoothly without any problems.
Great part of the world and nice food.
Loved the location and loved the food. Dinner at night was unexpectedly great. Thought the food would be typical pub food but was more classy restaurant. Very enjoyable.
Only one shower on our floor for everyone to share.
Location, great breakfast that is included, comfort beds.
Friendly efficient staff.
Small TV, not many programmes, poor bathroom facilities, but it is cheap so you get what you pay for.
Super spot among the mountains, real Austrian feel about it.
Ceiling creaked whenever someone in the room above moved. Lack of privacy, no net curtains at ground floor windows. Beds much too soft. Wi-fi only worked beside reception desk.
