Aspen Court Motel Taihape  

Jug didnt work. Wi Fi didnt work. Air Con didnt work the cover was broken exposing live wires. Motel seems to be in a run down state.

We thought it was the best motel of our road trip so fresh and sparking and such great price. Will be back another time.

The unit we were allocated was extremely comfortable,modern and a pleasure to stay in.

A very clean room. The decor was nice.

The fact that we stayed for three nights & were only given 1 little milk on check in.

Nothing we left

We arrived and were told we were not expected until the next day and the wrong room was booked.There was no power on until 4.30pm and there had been no cleaning done nor beds changed. We said we would move on but the owners said we would have to pay so I paid them. We had a twenty four hour cancellation time so I believe we should not have had to pay as according to them the day we arrived was not the day we were expected. Very poor response and very dissapointed.

An extremely clean, spacious room. Comfortable beds. Well-equipped kitchen. Free WiFi that worked well. Attractively decorated.

Yes there were trains during the nighttime, but one woke just momentarily -- not a big bother.

The motel unit was great. All menities looked new and clean.The bed was very comfortable and I would definately stay again if down that way.

Although the host was ok. He just handed us the key to unit and I had to ask where the unit was. I felt he should have taken us and shown us.

Nice place,wish we could have stayed longer. The apparment had a lot of space.The city was nice.

Very spacy room with most of what you need in it! Very well looked after!

Noise of Highway. only one bedside lamp.....had to keep ceiling light on for reading in bed.

Convenience

Over the last 10 years, we've stayed at the Aspen three times before and booked again this time - because of how welcoming and relaxed we've felt on our previous visits. Unfortunately we've never stayed for more than two nights as we're generally passing through Taihape on a long drive from Auckland, the Corromandel or some other such place. BUT - we've always looked forward to landing at the Aspen and we've never been disappointed.

What is there to not like?

too much light let into room from kitchen end of suite - perhaps curtain off so a lie-in is possible?

I liked that it had a playground for kids - probably needs a bit of an upgrade though. Was sufficient for our stay. Loved the sheep and trains in the background - makes for a more interesting visit.
