very entertaining host:)
The amazing staff - super friendly. Playing pool with my daughter, close to the ferry.
The staff were very friendly, a little bit bonkers but in an awesome way. Would defiantly come back.
The welcome was amazing, even my late check in was no problem :)
Colourful - literally and metaphoricaly. Lovely friendly host, Sheara. Homely atmosphere. Another guest playing awesome classical piano.
Noisy! People talking loudly in the kitchen late at night.
just a great woman - the owner, friendly uncomplicated staff, location perfect near ferry and park and playground and town centre, easy to find. the suite is a secluded two bedroom + kitchen + bathroom + living room apartment with parking
you can't take the place with you when you leave...
Unit was spacious and had off street parking.
Smelled badly of cat urine. Hopefully they can get this sorted out. As it is so close to the ferry, there is a lot of overnight noise. We had to have all the windows open because of the smell, so could not shut out the noise. Interesting decor.
Friendly owner who gave great travelling advice. Central location was very good. Decor was very warm..lots of original art and murals on the wall. Lots of books and games etc in the lounge room.
Very uncomfortable bed. Showers were quite dirty...needed a decent clean/scrub Toilet/Shower facilities are unisex. Inititally not a very good explanation of facilities and how to find our way around the place. No outside seating area (well not that we could find.. The place is a bit of a maze) very thin walls, could hear everything going on in the room next to us.
It was super noisy Stains on the bed, dust everywhere, fan had never been cleaned. The room was tiny at least half the size that it was advertised for. Smelt weird. Very unpleasant stay, noise restrictions were not enforced so had to endure other noisy inconsiderate guests into the early hours of the morning. There are these windows above the door so light steaming in from the hallway comes into your room, then the light from the skylight comes in early in the morning, so got very little sleep.
Messy building layout, tiny bathroom, limited bathroom facility, old worn off bed. Overpriced
good hospitality, free breakfast, 1GB of wifi free, clean facility, very close to ferry terminal, has curtain for each bulk bed.
only 3 unisex toilets, 2 wash basins make toilet room crowded with people in the morning and night.
Staff very friendly, welcoming and accommodating to our late arrival by ferry. Accommodation was significantly above our expectations. We were impressed by the attention to detail and little extras provided. We had privacy, comfort, our own parking and spacious facilities.
Cool room, funky vibe. Art & books all over. Nice staff.
Room was right next to kitchen, so the sounds of slamming drawers, clanking dishes, etc. sounded loud. Took an Ambien and all was ok.
friendly staff, free snack
Nice lady on front desk, clean good shower, close location to ferry. Apart from the extreme noise and the unchanged linen this hostel is good.
The noise was extremely bad at night as room was by the lounge area, woken up multiple times, don't stay here if you need to sleep but is OK for partying travellers. Also the pillow cases had not been changed and there were used towels in the room.
Receptionist was brilliant - guided tour. breakfast was good.
the room I stayed in - was like a train station or short cut. it was like they were going from reception to staff door.
A great location and very good staff. If you are in the village, this is the place to stay.
Free breakfast, near to the ferry, friendly staff
Not the newest hostel. When i arriving, a cat was in my room...
I would never reccomend this acco to anyone, it was trully nightmare! We travelled one moth around all NZ and everything was great but this experience was really bad. We made reservation of specific room couple of weeks before(double room with breakfast) and we didnt get neither this room nor breakfast. The stuff was very unpleasant and rude when we asked for the room we requested and not the hole they gave us and compensation for the breakfast when we had to leave at 7:00 to catch a ferry. After very long time we get the room but not the breakfast. Also for all the people they have been there accomodated were only one toilet and two showers working..if you could choose another place to stay.. Never more!!
Cool proprietress. Great aesthetics. Loved it.
All good, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
A real minor point but decent coffee would be nice!
Location is gr8 & staff were helpful. Room quiet area.
Communal bathroom..place seemed very dark despite colorful decor, bit dated!
Amazing location, friendly, loved the common areas.
Shower curtain had a coating of mildew & bathrooms not too close to the double rooms.
