Auckland City Hotel - Hobson St

There was nothing I enjoyed about my stay

The room was not ready at 12:30pm, I was not informed the room would not be ready until 2:00pm. Bed linen and towels left in room. In the shower there was black curly hair. Only 1 spare pillow for a twin or double room. The duty manager was not pleasant. Not informed of the street noise when the window is opened. Put on the 1st floor which does not have a lift and you had to climb stairs. The breakfast buffet was not up to standard no fresh juice (orange cordial only) the food was cold, didn't have bacon or ham, not a good variety of cerals, toast was the only option, the fruit was from a can and the butter was cut into small triangle pieces and in water. $25per day parking is ridicilous.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful, polite and willing to do all they could to make our stay pleasant.

The servicing of the rooms was a bit erratic as far as time of day was concerned. Often our room wasn't serviced until 5 p.m. and one day we had to phone down to reception at past 5.30 p.m. to request servicing as our room had been forgotten completely, leaving us with no clean towels and a lack of tea bags etc.

Comfortable and sizeable room, convenient to city centre areas of interest, and a good price.

Very convenient location

It' good location and near to the city tower. But HTL is small and not much facilities such as bar and lobby lounge.Also when I arrived at this htl, there was a big party and was very noisy but htl staff did not apologize for this inconvenience and should have informed in advance.

When I rqstd htl staffs to change the light in the rm, they did not say sorry and just changed it and there was no shower cap and they just delivered w/o saying sorry!! It was very noisy and could not be relax at night due to one grp's big party!! Htl did not excuse for this noisy party!!!

The room (studio) was very nice and had everything I needed. Everything was very clean.

The homeless centre opposite the hotel with homeless people all over that side of the street (smelling and shouting).

The staff are helpful and polite. The rooms are comfortable, clean and tidy. The facilities are good.

The living room carpet is stained.

Very clean, good location, attentive staff, great value for money for family who require 2 rooms, etc

Seems quite new and quiet, whicvh is good althouigh makes it a little souless

Nice size, very clean room with a good bed.

They had wired internet, with a short cord forcing you to work from the desk only. We would have preferred wireless. Also the cost for internet was high.

The hotel staff were very friendly, however there were times that we had to ring back to follow-up a request. The room was fine, but were never fully cleaned each day. The rooms do not have central cooling/heating, as our room was supplied with a portable fin heater and electric fan.

They did not have their own restaurant. The existing restaurant at the ground floor was operated by a diferent owner. The food choices were limited.

It was a clean, tidy hotel which met all of my expectations. The locat.ion was great and the room catered for our needs. It was lovely having a day spa located within the hotel

If you were to improve an area of the hotel/room, perhaps look at the information folder provided for the guests in the room. It was minimal and could have a great deal more information about the hotel, services and the area surrounding the hotel.
