Auckland City Hotel - Hobson St  

We chose your hotel because of proximity to the venue, a show, In The Mood, we planned to visit, at The Edge. It was within walking distance, clean and the staff were welcoming and friendly. The room was clean and other parts of the hotel positively gleaming. One shortcoming was there was no extra blanket(s) in the room as the duvet was thin and my wife said she woke several times through the night, cold. She also washed the plastic flowers in the bathroom. Perhaps this could be added to your cleaning regime. All in all though, a positive experience and would stay again and/or recommend to friends.

Good localization, walking distance to Sky Tower and shops.

Free internet only for 30 minutes.

It was only about a 10 minute walk down to the Ferry terminal which is why I selected to stay there. We were told on arrival that the hotel was overbooked and we were moved to an apartment just next door and given a free breakfast and bottle of wine as compensation. The apartment was spacious and fine for the two of us.

The apartment whilst clean, was tired. A drawer was hanging off a wardrobe. Unmatching table, shelving unit and coffee table. A rather unpolished look. The location is in the CBD but perhaps not the nicest street. Staff were nice/pleasant, English not their first language however generally understood us. When asked if there was a good breakfast place nearby (as we missed the breakfast time) we were told to walk down the road 5 mins to some horrible place - 5 mins further and we were at the marina. Staff weren't promoting the city that well! Another girl on reception couldn't tell us how to get to Mount Eden.

It turned out that my room was opposite the lift. I asked for a change of rooms and the reception staff were very obliging and sorted me out with a different room. They were very helpful and pleasant.

Very friendly and very helpful staff. Very good restaurant and good value. Very clkean and confortable rooms. Very secure. Very clean and very well maintained rooms with modern furniture and fittings

A shame the reataurant is not open every day.

Location close to major attractions

Poor interior layout with lots of small but usefull things missing. Room design is very simple and not welcoming. Rooms are very used and renovation is a must. Wi-Fi UNreasonable rates

The closeness to Auckland cbd. The friendly, smiling and helpful staff. Professionalism of staff. Quiet peaceful room. Prompt replacement of towels and toilet paper. Let us check into our room at 10:00am in the morning.

Near Auckland City Mission. The bedding was very stained, smelly, tatty and old.

Staff can't speak English , no welcome feeling, Breakfastroom is like a schoolrefter and breakfast is moderate. expensive parkingcharge.

Generally satisfied. The staffs are nice. The room is tidy and clean. Room rate is reasonable.

We bought a bottle of wine to drink in the room. It is funny that the 2 wine glasses in the room are different size. There is no big deal but it will be nicer if they are the same.

Friendly staff, excellent facilities.

Ideal location for the Civic (theatre and ballet), shopping (close to Queen Street) and restaurants. Good value for money - small but comfortable rooms. Tiny bathroom but not a problem for us (fleeting overnight stop to see the ballet). Many thanks for not charging me for the door key. I have found it in my luggage and will post it back shortly.

Would like a shelf in the bathroom to put washbags/toiletries on, or hooks, ideally both! Leave a small card next to the tea/coffee to advise milk/cream in the fridge (expected cartons of long life milk to be on the tray!). Also leave a small card on the bedside table advising that lights don't go on unless your key card is inserted into the slot next to the door; no doubt this was in the information folder left in the room but we were in a bit of a hurry! Perhaps the reception staff could mention it too?
