Decor is a little shabby especially in hallway. Only a seafood buffet available in the restaurant on the night we stayed which we didnt want.

Upgrade to larger room Cost Large bed

Staff were friendly, room was clean and tidy, including after being serviced. Response from reception to request for toilet paper was very efficient. Comfortable beds. Plenty of coat-hangers! Check-in and -out was fast and efficient. Didn't notice any outside noise...was able to sleep in!

Looks like the rooms could do with a bit of a make-over- just seemed a bit old and worn- panel in bathroom misplaced, stains on carpet...... Friend came to meet us to go out for dinner but was told we weren't there (despite having both our names) and was sent to the other Mercure on Queen St. When we arrived there was half a roll of toilet paper and no spare. When we returned from conference the next day, the room had been serviced but then we had no toilet paper at all! The tissue paper had been neatly folded over but no loo paper! We called reception and 2 rolls were bought up very quickly! The shower curtain only just reached the edge of the bath so the water dripped onto the floor. Air-con too noisy to leave on at night so room was a bit hot.

We had an enjoyable time staying at The Mercure Hotel last week. The staff were very friendly - the location excellent.

Great Location, room had a fantastic view of the harbour and city. Bed was clean, room looked tidy

very old interiors, desperate need of refurbishment. the A/C had a humming and clicking noise all night. A/C wasnt fully functional either, needs a change.

The location as very convenient for the airport bus and commercial centre. I also liked the size of the room and the cleanliness. The staff were also very efficient and polite

The absence of a safe in the room and the lifts took some time to get to the 8th floor but not that an inconvenience

We planned to stay another night a couple of days later. Went on line to 'booking.com', and your hotel was again advertised at $79. But when I put in my details, including out email address, it threw up a flag and said 'sorry this room is no longer available at this rate'. The new rate was now $159, so as much as we would have stayed with you, we found another very comfortable hotel close by. We were very dissapointed

Room was REALLY stuffy! Couldn't open windows. Couldn't adjust temperature. All 3 of us slept poorly as a consequence.

the design / layout of the main reception, the staff let this down though

poor service felt as if we had been scammed, very disapointing will never recommend this hotel to anyone. Uncomfortable and completely unprofessional

The lifts were very slow. Wated almost 7 minutes on our floor for the lift.

Close to centre of city

Very noisy, lift shafts were extremely bad kept me awake at times and woke me up also. Decor old dated and badly maintained Bed uncomfortable Shower head sprayed in all directions, damaged and rotten bathroom doors were a result of this. Overpriced car parking. Other people staying at same hotel were told of better priced alternatives but only once the Mecure carpark was full. All customers should be told of this option. Charging 1.5% for credit card payment is bad for tourism and also customer satisfaction, very money hungry policy, build it into your price. 90% of people pay with cc's these days.

It was close to vector arena for the concert we were going too.

We were not told about the 100 bond per room before we arrived which was abit annoying.

Squeaky doors, bathrooms need a revamp!

Good quality beds, well stocked mini bar, good clean rooms we had a great view over the harbour which was nice

You could hear the lifts from our room though not too bad from beds, shower head was very low for washing hair and I'm under 6 foot. The picture was hung crooked and couldn't be corrected but thats just nit picking :)

Location in town centre. Bar & Restaurant gives great view of the city. Breakfast excellent.

Rooms a bit tired, but clean, spend the night in the bar!

Didn't like the hidden costs $80 parking, $100 bond even though room was prepaid. Also had to ask for room to be serviced!
