Quiet efficient friendly service from the front desk

Everything was spot on

Really liked our Suite with view of ocean. Also loved the restaurant. Meals were exceptionally good and the waitresses great. Girls on front reception desk were fantastic too.

We only had a 1 night stay but very clean comfy & warm. Staff were lovely.

the place was very comfortable but the wind had managed to open the fire escape door which was banging all night, so despite the comfortable surroundings I got very little sleep.

pillows were awful, they were flat feather things that provided no support. I am not supposed to use feather pillows and as it was they did not do the job at all.

Real coffee and quality tea on the hospitailty tray, nice room, easy parking.

Cleaner disturbing us 2 hours before checkout.

When in the toilets by restuarant observed one of the chefs not washing his hands before leaving the toilet facilities on Friday.This concerns me as potential food poisoining issue having worked in the food industry.would not eat at this establishment

Staff; The staff member was unsure of my booking even though I presented on arrival a full print out from "Booking.com" I had to request a receipt as the staff member seemed inept. The staff member who walked us to the room in the rain, could not locate our room (number 10) and had to ask directions from a contractor on the location of our room (even though the numbers are painted on the doors 1.5 metres in size). ROOM; Very old and dated. NO money (with the exception of the TV) had been spent on this room in many many years. The bathroom was very outdated. One of the towels had a stain on it and seemed to be unclean. We did not use it. The shower was a JOKE. The carpet was disgusting. Bedrooms very small. My daughter is complaining of bed bugs, but this would be hard to prove as we moved around NZ in 14 days. ROOM LOCATION; We were NEXT door to a room that was being DEMOLISHED !!!!! On the other side was the LAUNDRY where the staff used noisy SHOPPING TROLLEYS to move daily items (towels etc). So NO peace for us. WIFI; Of our 6 accommodation locations in 14 days, this was the ONLY accommodation NOT to offer free wifi. VALUE FOR MONEY; For the exact same price we stayed in a 5 star apartments in Taupo, Hamilton, Wellington and Auckland. I would not give the Auto Lodge Motor Inn 0.5 of a star out of 5 stars. It was a rip off. I WANT A FULL REFUND and you have my credit card details! RECOMMENDATION; Under NO circumstances stay at this Motor Inn. There is a motel across the road.

Proximity to town, the refurbished suites were lovely, ours wasn't but my sons one was, the price was great

The shoer curtain was broken so water went all over the floor

I found the staff to all be very friendly and helpful and the facilities were clean and tidy

The bed was only a double bed in a massive room (We had a room in the hotel suite with ocean views) And there was a dining room table in there that could seat a large family which seemed like a waste of space... The bathroom and kitchen were very out of date. We had to step over the toilet to get into the shower.

The room we were first offered was very small and had a damp smell, it was also right next to the lift. We asked for the superior room we booked and got moved to a bigger suite.

We didn't use any of the dining options as they were expensive for what was offered. The room rate even at web price was far more than it was worth. Even though the unit was refurbished the toilet ran all the time, bathroom fittings were loose and broken & the shower leaked all over the floor.Finally on check out no smile, no thanks for coming, or any comment.

great breakfast meals

we went out late on the first day after 12am an on returning at 4 our breakfast dishes where still in the room & no clean towels where delivered an we had made the beds. After going to reception clean towels where delivered. No Problem

No air conditioning, old tired decor. Marks on carpet and furniture. The presence of a security guard were ever u went gave an impression of a place that was unsafe.

Great place & resonably priced. enjoyed the spa & pool immaculately kept.

We were especially happy with sevice provided by the friendly staff.

The beds were very uncomfoertable and needed replacing.

Great comfortable room and nice bathroom which was a good size - I was very happy with the standard and service recieved thank you.

Staff were very helpful and friendly when we checked in. We thought we had booked a unit with a kitchen, but we hadn't. They arranged a microwave, plates and kitchen things for us at short notice. Location is good, on main road, but quiet. Close to shops, cafes etc

Internet - you pay $10 a day for Flat rate but you needed to keep logging back in every 10 mins as the wifi would drop you off. Unreliable Room Heating - the room was incredibly hot but there were no heaters turned on. Receptionist said it was "piped water heaing" !! and suggested we turn on the airconditioning unit. We did this to cool the room down. Problem was it blew cold air directly on to the bed, which was just as uncomfortable. We've travelled a lot and this would be the worst room I've encountered for room comfort Housekeeping - a long weekend so we slept in one morning and put the Do Not Disturb sign on the door. Went out early afternoon and when we returned the room was not cleaned. Checked with reception and the terse reply was "you must have had your do not disturb sign out when housekeeping started at 7.30 this morning".. Hello - this is a long weekend and the last thing we expect is housekeeping wanting access our room at 7.30 am. In the end the end they arranged for someone to clean it. So - would we stay there again. Probably not. The bad outweighed the good

The convenience to all the central locations. The facilities were and the staff friendly and professional. I would highly recommend the Auto Lodge.

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I wasn't expecting 5 star, but it was terrible. Nothing worked, including the air con. No tv remote. When I told them about it, it took 1 hour to get a fan and 3 people looking through my room for the remote blaming each other. The room was like a sauna and bed extremely uncomfortable. The next day a woman randomly unlocked my door and walked into the room 4 pm while I was in there without knocking, saying she was delivering a fan....... Need I say more. I have never experienced that ever in my life. When I checked out they tried to charge me $30 for 2 chocolate bars from the mini bar. The whole experience was terrible and customer service non existent. Everywhere else in town was full, so I had no option but to stay there. Never again!!
