Great location, spacious room, nice backyard and nice receptionist. The room that I stayed in has everything that I need. The bathroom is big and very nice. Big backyard gaves us a lotta sun in the morning. Great facility! It would be better if we could have a desk by the backdoor to set up the stove for cooking. We had to cook inside room (bcoz the plug in by the front door) without fan, so the food smell stayed inside the room after we cooked for awhile. The powerboard switched off by itself when we plugged in more than 2 electronic devices on it.

Better than expected for the price, had a good range of cooking equipment There was no double-glazing on windows, and the noise from the street was horrendous, and made it impossible to sleep on the first night. We got earplugs for the 2nd night and it was fine. Also, the mattress on the double bed was way too soft

Only the location This place is in dire need of a make-over. It is in poor condition and requires basic maintenance in all areas. The owner needs to spend some money urgently!

It was comfortable and spacious. Any defects that we found we assumed were caused by the earthquake. It is central now because the facilities from the city - restuarnts etc - have moved out close to the Lodge. We enjoyed our stay there. Loo needs attention. Doesnt flush well.

If you like walking the location is good. We picked the place since a hanmer shuttle bus was leaving just on this corner. Bathroom very old and rusty sink. Hole in the wall and super soft bed.

Like many hotels and Motels in New Zealand the room came equipped not only with a fridge and an electric kettle but also with crockery, pots and pans cooking facilities and a microwave and a very reasonable rate. The Motor Lodge was just what we wanted.

Paint chipped walls, towels I would not use on my dog. Noisy and minimum service. Taps that dripped and unclean feel to it.

The beds were comfy and the shower was great. Was not earthquake damaged. The decor was dark and dated. Bit pricy for the area and age of complex.

Full of mosquito (more than 10 and just like dark cloud) when I arrived the room, very very terrible. They provided us a batchrom for disabled person but we are not disabled, so without any bathrub or bath curtain we can hardly keep the whole bathroom floor dry. After a shower, all places are wet and slipper which is very dangerous.

As the CBD has been closed down, I have to select this hotel. However, it's relatively more expensive and the facilities are old. Toiletry items are poor. They charge me for credit card fee and make me pay extra, terrible.

The location was good as most of the cbd was sealed off. They had a kitchenette which include basic cooking utensils was pretty useful considering that we were on budget. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was spacious! Wi-fi was cheap as it only costs 5 dollars for 24 hrs. The toilet wasn't very clean.

The bed was large and comfortable. It was a handy central location. The room tended to be quite dark even during the day, the furnishings were a little tired.
