The 5-star resort in Queen Charlotte Sound, Marlborough offers luxurious apartments with free Wi-Fi and a private balcony overlooking the bay. The resort also has a cafe and a restaurant with an extensive list of New Zealand wines. Views from room and staff. Comfort and quietness. Truly relaxing. Food on 1st night was delicious but disappointed on 2nd night. My fish was quite dry and over cooked.

location, staff, isolation. Upgrade on arrival, very nice! Same food menu both nights. Should offer mixed selection and "specials of the day" menu since it prides itself on the restaurant. However, food was great! :-) There was a dripping noise in our bedroom kept us awake all night. Was raining but not consistently dripping so we think it was overflow of water on flat roof, intermittent drops of water once it overflowed. Should be checked for someone who stays longer than 2 nights would be miserable.

Friendly service. Good cuisine. Excellent service in offering to drop us off by boat at nearby bay so our walk out was easier. Thank you , that was great help. We forgot something behind and they forwarded it on to us This was a great service and they had already sent it when I enquired. There is a $ 5 charge for mushrooms to go with breakfast ( as per the menu) and there was literally one mushroom sliced through a few times! Our fellow guests saw this for themselves and were aghast That was the worst 'side' I have ever been given and an outrageous price for a few grams! So the breakfast overall was not nearly at the standard of the dinner the night before ( which was very good) . Said nothing at the time but I felt they really let themselves down and it was most disappointing especially as almost the last experience of the hotel.

The intensely relaxing environment and the genuinely friendly and caring staff The evening meal was slightly disappointing in standard ie the salmon was too soft. Perhaps the skin should have been seared so as to be slightly crisp

A lovely tranquil lodge with wonderful views and facilities and friendly staff. It would not suit those with walking disabilities as lots of steps]slopes and the walks around the lodge were quite difficult.
