I liked the position next to the river ,the friendliness of the staff ,the size ,its small and good sized kitchen .I loved the chicken in the garden ,ample parking ,white fluffy towels ,clean pillows (under the pillow cases always look !!)

I had a double room in the garden block which was good except I was not aware prior to booking that the toilet was out side .Being a whimp I found it a bit spooky having to go outside to the loo . But dont let this put you off !!

It was all great . Homely and the verandah was very relaxing.

Couldn't find a hair dryer!

I believe there advertising is misleading. We paid $145 for a two night stay for two adults. We thought this was for the Bed and Breakfast accommodation. It turned out we were in the Youth Hostel Association rooms out the back. There were no basic facilities like towels, flannels etc. There were plenty of motels and even the Kingsgate hotel that were offing full service accommodation for $85 per room for two adults per night. We should in hindsight have stayed there.

Mine host was very accomodating and nothing was too much trouble. i was travelling with my eighty year old mum and it felt a bit like home for us...

Had a lovely stay, staff couldn't have been more helpful.

Suited my purpose - I was in Wanganui to attend a sporting event and wouldn't be at the venue often. Was perfect for what I was looking for. Clean, tidy, good hostel facilities for the shared kitchen and lounge.

This was only an overnight stop and the hotel met our expectations. Shower was very good (although shared). Owner was friendly.

I think the room was over priced considering the other hotels we had stayed in on our visit. We paid around the same for rooms with on-suite facilities. Location was quite remote from restaurants and shops.

Jättefint gammalt hus med högt till tak och mysiga rustikt inredda rum. Mycket trevlig värd som verkligen gjorde sitt yttersta för att få oss att trivas! Kan rekommendera bed&breakfast-alternativet.

unheimlich ruhig :-), Depressive Küche und Aufenthaltsraum, sehr lieblos im Vergleich zu anderen Hostels, nicht zu empfehlen für Alleinreisende

I stayed just one night and although the accommodation is in an old building it is clean and comfortable. Be aware that you have to share unisex facilities (1 toilet and 1 shower) if that is a concern. I really enjoyed relaxing reading a book in the private garden before leaving the following morning. And the staff is really nice and gentle.

The lower bed in the bunk is too close to the upper one. I hit my head a couple of times when getting up ... Be careful.
