Bycroft Lodge Bed & Breakfast  

Very comfortable , lovely warm people and great facilities

The televisions were a nightmare , first the bedroom tv didn't work then Willam changed things and we had to unplug and undomthe lounge tv and re set up a tv In The bedroom to watch it and it could only go in one place which meant you couldn't get around the bed and you had to climb over a cable , and you couldn't use the wardrobe , defiantly a problem which must be fixed before someone has a nasty accident , that really let the place down , the hob and cutlery draw was dirty and we had no bin bags or a dishcloth , old soap was in the bathroom and we are not in to using second hand soap , lovely people lovely place but let down by these things .

The weather!

We had a wonderful stay and would have loved to have made it longer. Would suit those people who like peace and tranquility and the personal touch. Owners were brilliant. I recommend and will be back.

The friendlyness of the owners,superb breakfast and the setting. A real treat especially with the horses and sheep talking to us at breakfast on the deck

Very good location and facilities.Breakfast excellent, owners very attentive.

Unfortunately my wife and I both for the first time in our month in New Zealand were attracted by mosquitos during the night which was too warm to have all windows closed. A warning would have helped when we would have used the spray which was provided. A minor but uncomfortable problem.

Warm welcome. Help with all questions. Lovely country setting especially as the weather was beautiful. Great breakfast taken sitting on the veranda in the sunshine. Great for getting to airport. Would like to have stayed longer

Nothing about the b & b , but it is a 10 minute drive to find a restaurant for dinner.

Exemplary hosting, caring & attentive. Beautiful decor, charming rural location with a retreat feel but handy to town & city. Breakfast was plentiful & delicious. We have booked another stay already. Would highly recommend The Bycroft.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bycroft Lodge. The accommodation was very cosy and comfortable. Breakfast was superb and Helen and Willem made us very welcome. Excellent in every way!

A family owned B&B and it showed! Wil and Helen were super accomodating and attentive to our needs! Great breakfast and comfortable bed and very relaxing set away from the city.

There was nothing I particularly didn't like

Fantastic hosts, accomodation, facilities and overall atmosphere. Helen & Willem could not do enought for us..from a welcoming drink to giving our travelling companion (who was not staying) a 2 hour canter on the spare horse. The breakfast, and cooking tips, were fantastic....as were the pool and spa.

Only had 1 night there. Recommend bug guard on the windows.

Helen and Willem were very friendly and engaging hosts and patient with people. They were helpful and provided a beautiful breakfast. It was lovely and peaceful and the bed was comfortable. I would certainly recommend this b & B. If we were staying longer I would probably choose the apartment, which was fitted out to a higher standard and quite large.

I loved the kind thoughtful service that Helen and Willum provide, and the beautiful rooms and surroundings. This is a really good place to stay, and good value for money.

The room was beautiful, nice outlook,comfortable bed,great breakfast and excellent hosts.

We spent a few unforgettable days in a very idealistic place. The Hosts (Helen and Willem) do their best to surroundings disposed to rest and relaxation, just what we needed after a long flight. We were given for a full week to complete disposal separate house suitable for two families, at no extra cost, where there are two bedrooms, two showers, refrigerator, TV, etc. Lodge keepers hold their own chickens, so that you can get eggs for breakfast from just eggs laid. The little daughter was very happy neighborhood of horses, sheep and chickens. Lovely pool and spa are available at any time. The hosts are very open and friendly, willing to help in every way. All that like our daughter was given to us as a gift. Even we were invited by Helen to a barbecue dinner. We recommend this Lodge to everybody. From staying there we have only pleasant memories. Friendly nature and interaction of owners. Beautiful breakfast. Relaxed atmosphere, nice scenery.

The friendliness of Wileem was most welcome as was the evening glass of wine delivered to our room upon arrival. Breakfast was more than plentiful and most enjoyable on the table set up in the early morning sun on the deck. Would definitely stay here again

The whole stay was welcoming and pleasant from the moment we arrived. The location and accommodation where ideal the purpose we were in the area.

An excellent B & B. From the minute we arrived we were most impressed. Excellent couple, unique and certainly a one off. The services offered were second to none. We would recommend this unique facility to anyone. Most enjoyable.
