Excellent communication, very comfortable with a more than adequate breakfast delivered to your door! Easy to find and a perfect location for business around Karaka. The host was welcoming and friendly.
Beautiful location, but a little traffic noise at peak times Nicely decorated and very comfortable Great breakfast
Beautiful and serene country side in Karaka and Laine was an excellent hostess. Breakfast was wonderful and the apartment was warm and very comfortable, I would recommend Bycroft B and B as a place to stay as it is very peaceful!
A great breakfast
Place needs a good clean - hasn't been dusted for ages, windows, had cobwebs, bathroom needs a scrub. Very disappointed with these aspects
The bed and pillows. The shower was mouldy.
The location, unit, the breakfasts, the rural views and the alpacas in the paddock outside the bedroom window. The owners were genuinely friendly and made us feel we were very welcome, nothing seemed too much trouble. The generous breakfasts left us with very little needed to eat at lunch time. We had a well filled fuel tanks in our stomachs that kept us going during a very busy Morning. We would recommend this venue for anyone wanting a romantic weekend getaway.
The cupboard the fridge was in could not be properly closed, and noticed a few cobwebs around the bedroom that could have been removed before we arrived.
Warm greeting on arrival from our host Ling. Room and food was as we expected from a previous visit. Although Ling new to B and B business she is/was a wonderful host.
Some upkeep required in the bathroom to keep it fresh.
Peace & quiet. Closer to the motorway than we expected and so not hard to find.
It was convenient for our requirements. The bed was comfortable with good sheets. Breakfast was adequate.
The property needs a great amount of maintenance inside and out. Insect screens are a must and to be able to pay with a card not cash.
Loved the elegance of the room, very nicely decorated, the modern but stylish look. Loved the provision of tea and coffee and the breakfast was beautiful. We enjoyed using the spa and the pool looked very inviting, but it was a little cool for us! The quiet location and the lovely friendly staff topped it all off!.
SKY TV would've been a plus for us, and we just needed to stay longer!!!!
Its a fantastic place. We certainly enjoyed celebrating our wedding anniversary at Bycroft Lodge. We would certainly stay again.
Friendly, welcoming and warm. Clean and tidy. Great location, beautiful surroundings. I wish we had more time to stay and enjoy the sun by the pool.
The perfect location, it is in the middle of the countryside. We experienced a very warm welcome, Very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was OK. Therefore it is such a pity that I have to mention the things we didn't like.
The bathroom was not as clean as it should be: spider webs on the ceiling. The rug in bed-/living room was not properly vacuumed. Every now and then the wifi shut down. You had to reset it in the other B&B room nextdoor (under the same roof).
it was very good , but would have liked to have paid in plastic rather than in cash?
Breakfast on the veranda. Outlook over alpaca field Peaceful although the adjoining unit was unoccupied so may not be so quiet if it was occupied.
Mouldy shower cubicle. Insects in the room with no fly screens Cobwebs in room with dead insects in
The setting was lovely. Close to main roads yet peaceful. Breakfast on the veranda was lovely.
The junction onto the main road from the road the B&B was on was very dangerous. It was very warm when we were there and there was no air conditioning , in itself not a problem but being in the middle of fields when the windows were opened at night the wildlife came in! I found a squashed long legs in my kindle the next morning! Also they don't have EFTPOS and you require to pay cash which we didn't know until we got there.
Breakfast was wonderful. The view is great.
Remote location Hard to find Too far to go out for a meal when tired Charged for 2 people even though only 1 (and only 1 breakfast of course)
A fantastic place to just relax. Not too far from Auckland and a great place to recover from the flight and get into holiday mood. Lovely people and an idyllic setting.
Pleasant rural spot, and handy for Airport.
Host was almost never there, and wanted as little to do with us as possible. Deputy was Chinese with very poor English.
Only 20 minutes away from Auckland airport is this lovely B&B. Breakfast on the porch/veranda weather permitting gives you a magnificent view. Good wifi (free) connection and very welcome reception by the hostess.
The location is a bit remote and shower could use an upgrade.
Outlook and view to fields and animals. Vintage charm.
Breakfast served all in one go. Better to serve the hot food separately from the cold.
The rural setting, yet it was close to Auckland and the airport.
pieceful rural outlook
Ling, the host was so very helpful and pleasant. Our first time in New Zealand, arriving at a busy weekend, we couldn't get car hire, but Ling managed to find us a car and even took us to pick it up. Have arranged our final day in Auckland at Bycroft Lodge as it was quite special. Breakfast was extremely good
Fine if you have a car, as expensive to get there by taxi from airport. Although, Ling will take you if arranged. No negatives about accommodation.
